There was a relaxed feel in the dining room. Servers were very friendly and chatted with us on topics we brought up. Service was well-timed and friendly. The food we ordered was delicious and plentiful. The lamb was perfecly done and the seafood dish was excellent.

My partner had halibut and it was terrible - presentation was terrible, nothing appealing about it. I had the seafood and I did not understand how it is cooked in broth that is "mud" coloured and not tasty at all. I do not understand how the food could be so bad.

We tried The Vista for the first time and were disappointed. As frequent visitors of fine dining restaurants locally and around the world, we found that nothing here lived up to the cost. The best thing was the amuse bouche (tuna sashimi on crispy rice with a dollop of sauce and seaweed salad). We ordered the pork belly as first course, which was tasty and large enough to share, but it was nothing special. It was accompanied by what tasted like canned baked beans. Our entrées were the steak and the halibut. Again, neither lived up to their cost. The halibut dish actually was quite odd, a baked piece of halibut with a crispy herby crust and herbs (which was good) on a bed of gnocchi with sliced chorizo and (chewy) octopus swimming in a tomato sauce. It lacked thought, as the flavours didn’t pair well. The steak was respectable and was cooked as ordered. The sides seemed like they had been sitting for a while. End of the day nothing here felt especially unique, fresh, or had an identity. Service was friendly enough, but didn’t stand out as excellent. The space was nicely appointed and high end, but strangely too large and cavernous (more of a ballroom vibe than an intimate fine dining space). Potential to be better in the future, but for now it seems more of an afterthought than a destination.

Lunch on Saturday to celebrate a wedding anniversary with family. We love the setting and decor of Mount Alverno. The Vista is the restaurant and the food is very good. Great place to sit outside and eat when the weather is good. Salads were very fresh, pasta entries good and great burgers. Apple tart was delicious and so was the crème brûlée. Really liked that they served local beer from Caledon Hills, Sonnen Hill and Goodlot. Excellent service by Cindy.

Absolutely fabulous food, excellent service, and an extensive wine list. What more could you ask for? A fantastic view of the Caledon Hills! The Vista has become a favorite of ours and I’d highly recommend it to anyone.

The food was amazing, very unique flavourful dishes and a wide variety of options. The cocktails were also very tasty. We were the last seating on a Sunday so I’m sure it was quieter than usual, but the atmosphere was very relaxing and inviting. The service from Scott and Angela were top notch. We’ll definitely be back!

It was our first time at The Vista. Overall we had a good time. Food is good but a bit overpriced. Restaurant is very nice and view is excellent. Wish there was more light in the restaurant once it got dark outside it was way too dark inside. Service was very good, everyone was very nice and helpful.

Everything was great. From the location to the view to the service to the food quality and portions! An amazing fine dine experience. The only thing that you guys need is a family washroom or a baby changing station which either we weren't able to find or was not there. Otherwise an awesome place!!

An absolutely amazing dining experience. The best lamb I have ever had. Our server was very knowledgeable and made fantastic recommendations. The only thing I would recommend would be to turn down the music in the dining area was a bit loud. We will definitely return with enthusiasm.

Went for my birthday and had an amazing time. The staff was very friendly, the live band played some really great songs and sang happy birthday to me during dessert. I had the lamb for dinner and was very impressed with the dish. I appreciated that the live music wasn’t so loud that I couldn’t hear my dinner guests (I’ve been to some places where the music has been overwhelming). Overall I’d highly recommend the restaurant!

The staff were hospitable and courteous from the moment we stepped through the entrance. The facility is lovely - beautifully appointed. Our server at lunch - Angelique - couldn't have been more friendly yet professional. The food presentation was picture-worthy and my guests were really pleased with their meals. My mussels were salty and somewhat dry with the fries being luke-warm so perhaps my meal sat for a while. Overall, I highly recommend the place for a meal or a special occasion (meeting, wedding, etc).

I took my sister for her birthday dinner to the Vista. I wish I could give it an eight out of five. Our waitress Cindy was so friendly. We felt like we knew her. This was a special night for my sister and she could not believe the quality of the food. I think she thanked the waitress about 10 times how amazing the food was. We will definitely be back. Looking forward to trying other dishes on the menu.

My fiend and I were very excited to have lunch at The Vista. First impressions upon entering the lobby were excellent! The staff was very courteous and we were immediately ushered to our seats. The hostess was very patient as we took a minute to decide where to sit. Our waitress was wonderful and the sommelier was very helpful in finding a wine that I had seen on their website but was not on the current wine list. The food was quite disappointing however. The mixed greens side salad was rather limp and very over salted. The Focaccia dish ok but the bread was rather dense and on the dry side. When I ordered my cappuccino, I had neglected to ask for decaf but he waitress very graciously replaced it with a smile. The music was extremely loud. It was hard to hear the staff when they spoke to us, but when I asked if they would mind lowering the volume, they were happy to do oblige. Overall, my friend and I very much enjoyed the restaurant, but if we return, I’m hoping the food quality will improve.

Fabulous Find! Beautiful grounds as you arrive! Everything about this place is 5 star! Service was too notch , drinks were creative and strong but delicious! Food was lovely and Sat night always involves live music , which was a great surprise ! Fine dining prices but worth every cent for the quality and ambiance ! We will be back!
