Nice place, but a little too loud for my liking and not a huge fan of the menu options either. This place is convenient for work lunches, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go after work hours.
Being in the heart of the financial district (and not the red light district), the waitress could use a little more clothing as well...kind of disturbing in this "Me2" era, especially.
Great place to catchup with friends. Definitely book in advance as the time slots get booked up pretty quickly!
My boyfriend and I love this place! Most people go to grab drinks but the food is amazing, especially the burger!
Good food! Had to flag down 6 staff members at different times to change the TV channel to a Raptors game, and the restaurant wasn't even that busy.
Love this place. Vibe is great and so is the food and drinks.
Ordered a bottle of wine with dinner. For the first time ever, at any restaurant, the waitress did not bother allowing us to taste the wine! She just poured glasses for everyone. I thought this was rather odd and very amateurish. Otherwise, food was tasty.
Would recommend the Tuna Sashimi dish (lunch). Friends had a pizza & Walrus burger and weren't wowed. Had hoped for a larger beer selection. When filled, it's incredibly noisy and make it almost impossible to have a conversation. Likely won't go back for these reasons.
Great place but too loud to have conversations beyond two people-and this was at lunch
Food and service was amazing. Definitely will be back!
We enjoyed it
The service and atmosphere was incredible. However, the food was well below restaurant standards. No flavour. Nothing special for the price. I couldn’t even finish my meal.
Great food , delicious and promptness of delivery of food was amazing over lunch time
I love the decor. Sabrina was an excellent waitress. I liked the lamb pizza with the beer truck ale.
Food is average
It was good. Service was good, food very good
I really enjoyed the lunch menu with my team for a celebratory lunch. I find Walrus a tad too noisy in the evening, but it’s a fab lunch venue
I have been to the Walrus at Bay and Wellington 4 times now. Each time a great experience. The good is awesome and the service exceptional.
Loved the atmosphere! The chicken bites were delicious - the arugula honey sauce was next level. Fun spot!
First visit to The Walrus and would definitely go back. Enjoyed the food.
Fun atmosphere, loved the patio. Great service, thoughtful & friendly staff. The food was excellent- lots of choice. Will definitely go back!
We were seated immediately at a bar table on the patio. Ordered a starter and two lunch dishes. All arrived quickly and hot. Easily ate and paid within the hour we had scheduled for lunch. Service was good, food was better, patio is fantastic (lots of people, cover from sun, long bar, outdoor TVs). I will return.
Great venue, lots to look at and always an upbeat atmosphere. Delicious food and beverage options, too!
Our first dinner at The Walrus was very good. This place is too packed for business day lunches so I was glad to finally try this new addition to the neighbourhood.
We had a quiet early pre-concert dinner there on an August Saturday. It was too hot to sit on their patio but the interior is gorgeous and very different from its previous incarnation.
The hostesses were great, but our server was super irritating. She was at the table every 2 mins asking if we were ready to order - NO (I haven't sat down yet, said hi to my friend, and I told you 5 times that we need 5 minutes). She kept up her constant interruptions all thru drinks, dinner, and after dinner. She was literally taking my cocktail glass out of my hand before I finished it. It was early so it was not busy, fairly empty and there was no queue for seats. I have no idea why she was rushing us, but that makes me feel very unwelcome and not well cared for at all (if that is her idea of service).
We really liked the cocktail list and the 2 bars, dining room and downstairs are all impressive. I thought the food was much more up-scale than any Toronto pub and I felt our meal and drinks for two were very reasonably priced.
As I live and work in the neighbourhood I will definitely be back.
Food was good. Love the variety of drinks and atmosphere.
The server was a bit short with us, not sure why the bad attitude we were very polite.
I really liked the food and the patio was very nice. Shaded and not too crowded. I will add this into my regular rotation.
Excellent service and food , oysters are amazing and the patio is a lovely quiet spot.
Excellent Service and atmosphere. Good for any occasion. The menu is creative and will have something for everyone. My first time but not the last.
The place was great - its a fun spot. There were four of us and the tables were on the small side and are really more suitable for 2 people to sit/eat comfortably as opposed to 4 so we felt quite cramped especially when the intent was having our business lunch meeting - it was tough the four of us having enough room with plates and glasses to fit, let alone to add note pads etc.. If the tables were larger that would be much better. As such, we gave up on our business meeting and just had a fun lunch. Looking around it seems all the tables for 4 were the same small sized tables. It might not be the right location for what we intended - a business lunch meeting. It's more suited to a casual lunch.
Waitress was amazing. Food was great. Overall great experience
We took the in laws out for a celebration. After the Jays game we showed up about an hour before our reservation. The staff were kind and hospitable! They got us seated and were very friendly. Dinner was great our server was wonderful and all in all we have no complaints!
Nice lunch, ate on the outdoor patio.
Birthday lunch. Really enjoyed the decor and open spacious feeling.
Excellent patio, and can’t beat the water jug left on the table.
Very nice place; I think we just had a series of unfortunate events. The waitress took our order for mojitos and oysters, then returned 5 min later to ask if we'd decided on drinks. Reminded her of the cocktail order and also if she had ordered the tray of oysters. We got the drinks and 25min later I asked about the oysters as I saw a tray being handed to a different table and the shucking station was void of any dishes or a shucker. Needless to say the other table got our order, which the manager was kind enough to comp and expedite another tray of oysters....thank you.
We ordered mains afterwards and 20min later noticed one of the staff taking what looked like our order to yet another table. He then returned to the kitchen with those mains, left them on the counter and proceeded to take other meals to other tables. I flagged down our waitress and she promptly brought over our meals. I mentioned that their runner wasn't on his game and they relegated him to the bar to clean cups and utensils.
Once the bill arrived, they forgot to comp the oysters, however that was quickly rectified by our waitress. As well, for $13 a mojito, I'd expect fresh lime wedges and not lime concentrate. Hopefully with a bit of time and attention, they'll deliver the service and food equivalent to the other spots in the neighborhood.
Great atmosphere and surprisingly good food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is excellent. Especially around the bar.
Staff is very friendly and helpful! Food is great! Always a good experience.
Great drinks, great food and great service
It was great!
A little noisy for a business lunch, service was great and the food was tasty. I can see it being a great spot for after work or for tourists or before or after the theatre
