The Waterfront Restaurant & Lounge
Beautiful setting. Food was good just took over an hour to come out. Service was descent.
Very disappointed with our experience. Server was busy and provided poor service. Brought four of six meals and two other meals were brought 10-15 minutes later. Of the first four, one was incorrect. Server did not check back until he brought the second meals. Took another 15-20 minutes to return the correct meal. Three people were done with meals before the last correct meal was served. Did not comp or even discount incorrect meal. 20% tip automatically added to bill, yet server did not deserve. Server did not point out automatic tip. Had to be observant to see. Then when credit card receipt came back, still had line for tip. Classless.
Enjoyed lunch with my Mother🥰
Excellent atmosphere, view & staff!!!
Outstanding dinner tonight. The staff at The Waterfront went above and beyond to make our dinner special. The food was excellent across the table. From appetizer to dessert, everyone in our party of 7 was so happy with their food. The deep fried Brussels sprouts in brown sugar and balsamic glaze were excellent. We had 3 different soups between us and all were tasty and filling. Wait staff kept our drinks full and the bread baskets filled with oven fresh bread. I enjoyed the Boursin Chicken - sauce was delicious and the chicken prepared perfectly. Dinner was capped off with a wonderful creamy cheesecake. Simply cannot day enough good things about The Waterfront. Amazing view, friendly staff and Manager Chris put together the perfect dinner for our family, thank you!
Food was not good, 4 dinners and no one like theirs. Calamari was the worst i have ever had. The sauteed perch was like it was mushy, shrimp scampi was mad with a breaded shrimp. We have been to this place many months ago so do not know what happened, maybe new owners or a cook change??
I made a reservation for mother’s day and when we got there they said that there was no table available because there was a problem with the online reservations.
Staff needed some additional training and they were really slow setting up the buffet for the brunch I went to. I had an 11 reservation and it was closer to 12 by the time the food was out on the buffet.
That aside, the food was phenomenal except for a couple of items that they went overboard with the salt.
Unfortunately, I cannnot give this place a good review. Everything was just ok. The food was definitely overpriced and underwelming.
We We were fortunate to be seated at a table along the river the view was great food was good the service was very friendly and prompt.
Our only disappointment were the drinks though. The French 75 and a mule both were disappointing.
My only real complaint was with the bus staff..they were a little over zealous and down right annoying in clearing the table of our entrees. I did not have a problem with the appetizer or the soup/salad course as they were removed promptly but not before complete, but for the entree they swarmed and felt very pushy. I also thought their attire of backwards baseball hats and shredded jeans was a little inappropriate for the type of restaurant I feel you are trying to be. I am generally not uptight about dress codes, but I do believe in professionalism!!
As far as the appetizers they were amazing. The waitress was very nice. The bus boys are on their toes at all times. I would be back for appetizers and dessert.
The food was very good for 3 out of 4 of our party. The prime rib was over cooked and smothered in gravy. The noise level is so high, we had to scream to hear each other. They need to install something to absorb the sound. Our waiter was very good; however, he had way too many tables to attend. More staff is definitely required. They also need to upgrade their fine scotch selection. They do not carry the finer scotches as other restaurants in the area carry.
The food was amazing but very pricey for the amount if food on the plates.
Service is a little slow here and, as usual, they were out of a few items. Nice place to sit outside, however, and that’s the reason we go.
Had a wonderful dinner experience- food was fantastic- I had the perch picatta and it was really good. Can’t wait to try this when the weather is warmer and we can eat on the deck and watch the boats - beautiful views!
Food was not very good. Server was friendly but was very inexperienced and lacked any sense of urgency.
Disappointing would be an understatement of our experience. Our meals arrived about 45 minutes after we had our salads. Which was more than an hour after we had ordered. The food quality was poor, compared to the high prices being charged. My wife's meal was a total disaster(cold, under cooked and poor quality), nothing like the menu description. They did attempt to replace her meal with another option, but when that arrived 20 mins later, that was way under cooked too. Throughout the meal, our server was barely around, but did track down the manager for us. He apologized for our bad experience, and took her meal off the bill and provided us with a gift card for the price of her meal to give them another try.
The chicken was the worse I ever had. Very rubbery.
Loved our late lunch! We went to check things out because we are having my daughters wedding shower there this July.
It is a beautiful place and the dood was good, looking forward to having the shower there.
Service, food and entertainment (MGK Band) were awesome!
The waitress was great. Two of our group got held up & the waitress took great care to make sure we had appetizers & drinks while we waited.
I think the food could have been very good. My salmon was missing the spinach and was barely warm. There were 9 of us and most of our food was luke warm. The only plates that were hot were the ravioli. Id go back and give it another try.
First time there ,the appetizer that we calamari was fantastic the chicken parm i thought was just average, did enjoy looking out at the river as we ate and talked. I would like the management replace the American Flag that is torn to shreds, next time i go there and if its not replaced i will bring it to there attention as i should have when i was there.
Always nice. Good to see some nice places to have a great dinner downriver! We will be back for sure.
New Chef, great food and service, I believe the go to place for great food and great surroundings.
Valentine’s Day dinner was excellent. A little expensive but worth it. We went early enough and it was not very busy. Good service.
I went to The Waterfront with 6 friends..it was an early dinner (5:00pm ) on a Sunday. Not very crowded. Loved the atmosphere and the views of the river, and RenCen in Detroit. The service was great and the food was really good too. I had the Eggplant Parm, it was delicious and it was a big meal, lots to take home. Some of my friends really enjoyed the Michigan Salad. We will definitely be eating here again.
The service was pretty bad. The food was good but overpriced.
I ordered the ribeye, garlic mashed potatoes and roasted cauliflower. We ordered roasted Brussels sprouts for an appetizer. Ribeye was excellent! Especially with the “zip” sauce that came on it. One of the best steaks I ever had. Last time I was here, the Brussels sprouts were way too salty but this time they were very good. Love the balsamic sauce they have on them. The only thing that wasn’t great was the cauliflower, it had a “chemically” taste to them. Service was fantastic, attentive but not clingy. I really like this place, will definitely go back. Really want to sit outside in the summer.
They were down staff and very short on servers. Our reservation was for 7:30 and we didn’t receive our entrees until after the band started which was at 9pm. Had to flag waiter down each time for drinks. He did his best to keep up but was just overwhelmed. Manager said he’d comp a round of drinks which never happen and we didn’t want to wait around to get that figured out after we had to ask another server to please get our bill. The food was good as was the band.
At the recommendation of my manager, (whom helped in the remodel for his sister) , and a gift card he had given to me for Christmas, I took my fiance and soon to be step daughter there for dinner. We were also celebrating my fiance's birthday. Win win with the interior of The Waterfront. The food was delicious, and not small portions I might add. We will definitely go back, perhaps in the summer to see the exterior also.
The salmon was great - skip the “potato Anna” - nothing but a bland boiled potato. Drinks were half price til 6pm, waiter charged full price but was quick to correct that. Salads came with ranch, we weren’t asked what we preferred, and the waiter forgot a few things, but he was very friendly so we chalked it up to maybe he was new. No biggie. Overall, a great night out. Beautiful place.
Great food and great service! We will be returning!
My dining experience was on New Years Eve and the service and the food was excellent.
My friends and I met here for a Christmas get together and had a great time! The food was delicious and the environment was beautiful!
Love waterfront, been there a lot but we were there to see The Major Dudes along with dinner. Had a great meal & great time.
Great food and our waiter was really good and attentive. Real improvement on the food from when first opened
Our server Merina was fantastic!! She was always checking on us and ensured we had everything we needed!! The food is always great!! We enjoy being there for the live music too!! Keep bringing in the great bands!!
I can Honestly say everything I ate was delicious. Wait staff was very attentive, great atmosphere.
FOOD WAS VERY GOOD. VIEW OF THE RIVER IS NICE FROM JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE.
BAND PLAYED WAY WAY TOO LOUD. HARD TO FINISH EATING WHEN DECIBEL LEVEL IS OVER THE LIMIT. BAND PLAYED GOOD MUSIC, JUST NEED TO SET IS DOWN A BIT.
