Not only did the food take forever to come out, They got one order wrong, another entree had to be taken back because the risotto was extremely salty. They did take it off the menu, but when we asked for a spinach salad instead (no protein), it took another 30min to come out. The restaurant was not busy. We were the 3rd table they were serving, but it took 45-1hr to get our appetizers and another 45-1hr to get our entrees. The salad came the quickest, but it’s still way too long for it to be so low.

This place did not disappoint! Food was delicious and portions were house! I highly recommend trying the sweet potato skillet cornbread! Ambiance was elegant but not too stuffy and service was impeccable!

Our experience was wonderful! We had some out of town friends visiting us & we were both celebrating our anniversaries . Guy was our waiter & he was excellent! He was very attentive & friendly! Food was great ! We had salmon & New York steak . We will definitely b back

We booked our reservation online hours before hand it was our first time trying the Wheelhouse, and we were happy to have a night out. When we arrived we were told their AC wasn't working, and that is was "96 degrees" and "102 upstairs" after the seated us. We were seated in the downstairs area, known as capt. Petes. A super casual bar like setting. It was hot and I had a red bucket on the back of the booth where AC condensation was dripping behind me and would splash up occasionally on our table and myself. Our server, Sam, was nice. The crab cakes, and tuna were very good. The cornbread tasted like straight carrot cake. Drinks were good, the Mojito and Mexican Martini were refreshing. We went here for a date night and were pretty disappointed that we were not told, a call, text, anything before hand of the situation. We wanted to have a nice relaxing atmosphere. As Locals to the area we were happy to try a place that was a good, tasteful, and more upscale date night. Unfortunately, it ended up being hot and disappointing. I totally understand that things happen and that there are things out of our control when it comes to the Texas heat, but I was bummed that we were not notified. We would have booked for another time when it was all fixed and would have liked to have given a better review, but I have to be honest in saying that it was not as we had hoped.

My husband and I had our 6th year wedding anniversary there and it was fantastic. Sam our server was so friendly and our food was amazing. We ordered steak and stuffed crab shrimp. DELISH!!! We had a great time there. Grateful we didn't have to drive in to Austin to have a nice celebratory dinner. Thank you Wheel House!

Very enjoyable evening with fine service and cocktails. The redfish is excellent. The chicken was a bit overcooked but understandable given how busy Pete's was on a Saturday night. This goes in my weekend rotation. Can't wait for cooler fall temps to enjoy the deck.

Great food! We had a table of 6 and everyone cleaned their plate. It was amazing food and we enjoyed ourselves so much. We celebrated a Birthday and we are so happy to have this venue close to Lago Vista! We definitely recommend this restaurant!

Had the beef tips and were way over cooked. The truffle sauce did not taste the same or as good as the first time. The crab cakes were undercooked. We ordered 3 NY strips all were very grisly. The stuffed shrimp was a combo of weird. Shrimp over cooked, the batter around the shrimp runny. The atmosphere and service was great. Am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the food for my 2nd time going. However the first time there was amazingly mouth watering delicious.

The cornbread was to die for. The service was superb. I had the tuna and it was fantastic... way more food than I expected. My husband had the redfish and it was moist and flavorful. We had a great view and got to watch all the activity on the lake. Great music. It was a wonderful evening.

Seafood dishes were good. The streaks tasted like they were thawed on the grill and were not tender. Wine selection was fine. Asked for the spinach to be sauteed without garlic, but clearly had garlic.

Great, my third time here. Had the tuna entrees with teriyaki sauce. Was excellent, tuna cooked (rare) perfectly. One negative, it had WAY too much sauce, I would half that and it would be plenty. Otherwise all good.

This hidden gem in Lago Vista/Point Venture is outstanding. The restaurant is located right above Captain Pete’s with a beautiful view of Lake Travis. It has a wonderful ambience - very relaxing with nice music. Our meals were delicious- I will absolutely be back very soon!

Overall food was good. The cornbread was fabulous. The green beans feel kind of bar food like. The Steak didnt resemble that of a high end steakhouse but more like a piece of meat from costco. Service was very friendly and timely. Shrimp oscar was decent, a bit overdone. Setting was fun rocking boat on waves on occasion.

Overall enjoyed it and would go again. The staff was great and you could tell what they were going for. The live music downstairs combining w the music they had playing was a bit confusing to the ears. There was also a large party who was have a great time which made it hard to hear each other at time. I think some sound deadening materials in the room would help too. The feed was good, but my wife’s steak was tough, but was cooked correctly. Probably just a fluke and intend on going back.

This was our second time eating at the Wheelhouse. Again, the food was very good. The service was excellent. Our waiter, Mike, is so friendly and attentive. The air conditioner was not working, but in spite of this glitch on a muggy day we enjoyed our dining experience. We will definitely be returning.

This was our second time to eat at the Wheel House. Last time we had seafood and it was very good. This time we wanted steak. Instead of just having the steak on the menu they offered a surf & turf. It had 2 scallops, steak, and some blackened Cajun sauce. The scallops were great as was the Cajun sauce. The blackened steak flavor was good but the meat itself was not one of my better steaks and even though I asked for it medium rare it was medium plus. I will probably go back but for seafood or chicken next time. They need to get a better grade of steak.

Living in TX now 3 1/2 years and this is the first restaurant that I am excited to return for another visit. The food was outstanding - make sure to try the sweet potate cornbread! The service was wonderful and the manager made certain that food allergies were accommodated, which was easier than most places as every dish was made fresh to order. Will be back soon and on a regular basis!

Great condensed food and wine menu that proves quality over quantity. Our starter was blue crabcakes that left you wanting more to be followed by blackened redfish that melted in your mouth. The slide of carrot cake was fresh, delectable, and great portion. Plus, they had a reasonably priced Daou Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. All of this was provided with fantastic service focused on not rushing us but always available and approachable.

I had the Louisiana red Fish. The fish was a little overcooked but the flavor was good and the sides of mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach that I ordered were good. My husband had the stuffed shrimp and they were great. The ambience of the place was nice with the lights not too bright and a digital fireplace glowing and a great view of the water in Lake Travis. My husband and I both drank Scotch and it was served in the correct glass with a big ice cube like you get in most fine restaurants. The noise level was very good and the service was very good. We shared a wonderful piece of carrot cake for dessert. We will definitely come back and enjoy this nice and good restaurant again and again as long as they keep these standards. The price was no more that you would pay in any good restaurant in my opinion.
