Tucked away off of Brunswick Ave, the Wine Bar at the Annex Hotel features a beautifully curated list of biodynamic and natural wines from around the world. The wine list is complemented by delicious cocktails and an offering of cheese boards, charcuterie plates, and baked pizzas. (The kitchen closes at 10 pm)

Psstt...if you don't want the fun to end, we have a bottle shop and all our wines can be purchased by the bottle to go.

A block away, off of Lippincott, that charges a day maximum of $12 (7am - 6pm) and an overnight maximum of $18.     This is a fantastic wine bar and a truly hidden gem. It has a lovely ambience and is a great spot to meet a friend - not too loud, but still private. Great selection of wines and cocktails and good service.

    Really wouldn’t consider it a traditional wine bar, it feels a lot more like a hotel lobby.

    I attended a Grape Juice event. The host was very knowledgeable, this wine interesting, ambiance excellent. I would highly recommend this experience. The staff are extremely friendly and the service excellent.

    I love the wine bar at The Annex Hotel! Great ambience, fancy but not pretentious. All the staff there are friendly and accommodating. The Grape Juice event was well run, informational and fun! Jackson has a real passion for wine and that shines through! It was also amazing meeting Simone- one of the wine makers- hearing about his family’s history and traditions makes you excited to try their wines!

    This is the definition of a hidden gem. Tucked away in an unassuming alley, this is such an enjoyable spot for a date or quiet night with a friend or two. It’s a smaller space (cozy not tight) with an ambience better suited for a more intimate/smaller group. Beautifully decorated and the service is fantastic.

    We had a lovely server who was new. For a wine bar, we would have liked more knowledge from the server on wines. After asking questions about the wines on the menu that he kept having to go back for answers for, I would have thought a visit from someone with more experience with wine (I.e. a sommelier?) would come to tell us more. When we got the various wines, none of them were very good (and definitely not as described). Frankly I think they need to take the words wine bar out of the restaurant name. We were the only ones in the restaurant and yet it took over an hour to get food. We only ordered oysters (and fries that never came) and charcuterie. After an hour of waiting for the charcuterie, my husband went to find the server to ask and saw him preparing the food himself! My husband finally had to leave prior to us being finished the charcuterie. So I finished the evening alone, eating last part of our meal and then it took another 20 minutes to get the bill. I’m sorry to leave a low rating and also disappointed as the space is lovely and we were excited about having a wine bar in the neighbourhood. Importantly, the server was super nice and clearly trying hard - I just don’t think he had the support a new staff should have.

    What cute chic little wine bar featuring only “natural” wines. A very eclectic wine list, but worth sampling a few.

    The ambiance at the wine bar is unmatched. Service is beyond & staff is super knowledgeable. Mondays they have 1/2 price wine bottles and the recommendations were next level. Highly recommended!!!

    Great atmosphere and vibes. Not as loud or busy on a Friday evening as was expected. Wine Bar is a good location for a first date to get to know each other, while providing good ambiance for everyone to enjoy. There's also a cool patio outside, definitely will come back in the spring/summer!

    Well the most astonishing thing is their website said open till 1 am but the hotel portion announced they are closing at 11 pm. Which was unfortunate as we had trekked all the way out there and then ended up at our usual joint. Update your website if you change your timings saves ppl a lot of heartache! But will state the pizza at the bar on the other end, not the hotel end, was fab as was the service at the bar! Must go, however, call ahead and make sure they are open!

    I love the idea of the wine bar with small bites, but if you are going to have a small menu you should probably make sure you are not running out of food or wine listed on the menu - both of which happened when we visited. If you run out of a wine by the glass, you replace that selection with something else, especially when you only have a few things available by the glass. Also, although the anchovy salad is described as having anchovies, we were told after ordering that "anchovies were $3 extra"; we complained about a surcharge for something clearly listed as part of the dish as well as how the dressing had too much vinegar, making it inedible, but only received a $2 discount on our bill. The only saving grace for our evening was our server, who was extremely professional and super personable.
