Established in 1959, The Wooster Inn offers an elegant dining space combined with a relaxed pub to create a location that is immensely popular with both visitors and locals. There are two primary menus at The Wooster Inn: the main dining room menu and the pub menu. In the main dining room, diners will enjoy authentic New England clam chowder, calamari, salads and main plates like the Wooster Inn melt, grilled chicken California club, CAB braised short rib quesadillas and oven roasted turkey. In the pub, diners can partake in traditional pub fare. Opt for burgers and snacks like mozzarella sticks and potato skins.

My wife and I tried the Wooster Inn for a Valentine's Dinner. The food was excellent and service was good. I was a little dissapointed to see some waiters in tennis shoes. Overall ambiance was good, but would have been better if they would have had dimmer lights, music playing and no TV at dinnertime. (they have a nice pub in basement with TV's). Overall our experience was good and look forward to returning in the summer to eat on the patio and enjoy the view.

Third time for brunch at the Wooster Inn. This time, I had the pecan encrusted chicken Cobb salad. Really outstanding. This should really be their signature dish.

My wife and I had a wonderful, "Christmas season" evening at the Inn with dear friends from the College of Wooster. The Lola Chardonnay recommended by proprietor Ken Bogucki to accompany our crab & shrimp cake appetizer was outstanding - quite dry with hints of the Sauvignon Blanc that I had initially considered, but much more mellow. Lola goes into my memory bank for future selection. The Inn's decking of the halls was just splendid. My wife and I took it all in awaiting our guests in the parlor after an early arrival. Tropical weather or not, we were moved into the Christmas spirit. We were warmly greeted and served expertly by the Inn's staff. Ken stopped by for a pleasant chat. The chef who created the fabulous braised short ribs dish that we enjoyed with a splendid R&B Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon came out and gave us history of the dish's development and success not only winning the top prize in an NFL cook-off, but also generating support for people in need. After the Lola & crab/shrimp cakes start, each entree enhanced the experience, with the French silk pie finale capping a memorable meal for us all.

Prior to this most recent experience Wooster Inn has been a reasonably good experience. In the past the wine list was extensive, 100+ wines. This time we were give a choice of four whites and four reds. The menu has changed to offer more vegetarian dishes and fewer meat dishes. Three of us ordered strip steak and all agreed that the steak had too much gristle and fat. Bread was served after the salads and the salads were served less than five minutes before the main course. The fourth in our party ordered a pork chop which was dry and difficult to cut. are

We had a simply lovely dinner on October 7th on our way back to Lakewood from Amish Country. It was a beautiful late afternoon for our early dinner, so we chose to have our dinner on the back patio that overlooked the golf driving range. Our server was attentive and professional, and our walleye entrees were outstanding! Thus, the ambiance, service and food all were superb and we look forward to our next visit to the Wooster Inn. Thank you!

I had not eaten at the Wooster Inn for many years and was surprised to find its dining room sparsely populated on a Sunday afternoon. But the quality of the food and service explained the paucity of diners. This establishment seems to have gone downhill. Eggs Benedict featured a burned English muffin and eggs so hard-cooked they could have starred in a film noir. While the overworked server was happy to replace our entrées with better food — unadorned Belgian waffles — he accidentally billed us for the eggs, rather than the less expensive waffles. Ultimately we spent more time waiting for him to straighten out his and the cook's errors than we did eating the food. We shall not be going there again.

Ambiance was nice with view of the golf course. Our waiter was young and a little nervous but did a fine job. I started with tasty lobster bisque, then on to the perfectly prepared fillet mignon with simple but excellent sides. My wife had a wonderful Pecan-encrusted chicken Cobb salad, and we shared a $38 bottle of wine that tasted like it was a $100 bottle. All in all, a great meal at a reasonable price. We will definitely return.

We have eaten and stayed at the Inn 8 or 10 times and the food is usually pretty good. The service always matches. The best feature is a wine cellar that is accessible to diners and Inn guests with a great reasonably priced selection so you can go down, pick some wine and drink it with dinner as they will add it to your check.

Wooster Inn has been a favorite for a long time. At an hour's drive it is only visited every six months or so. This occasion was memorable for several reasons. The entree menu was especially varied with many vegetarian dishes to complement the meat and fish offerings. The execution by the chef was flawless, delivering even better flavor than anticipated. The quiet country charm setting and the careful timely service made this instance more memorable than the last. We and our friends will be back...sooner than usual!

Our waiter was not ready to work the floor, and the food was just ok. The dinning room is on the small side where louder conversation at the bar can overwhelm the dinning atmosphere.

The food was good for a buffet. Loved the stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. Having prime rib was a bonus to the usual turkey. Service was very attentive and my folks enjoyed talking with the bar tender who was a wine expert. I would go back for a quiet dinner and drinks to enjoy the cozy atmosphere again.

The Wooster Inn is something of a quintessential college-town inn, catering to alums and visiting parents of students; it has a golf-club atmosphere, but, it was pleasant enough and the food is fine.

I was there with two friends for dinner. As expected the Inn was attractive and waiting in the lobby for our table was pleasant. Once we were seated at our table our experiences went from fair to poor. Our waiter seemed to lack interest in the menu, the drinks, and the service. He leaned across our table to serve our plates of food and seemed disinterested in our comfort and did not attend to refills of water, etc. None of our dinners were flavorful. We did not plan to return.

My family and I went to the Inn on a Saturday. There were only 3 other tables occupied in the whole place which should have tipped us off. The menu seems like it would be fit for a foodie with it's options and imagination but the finished product wasn't up to par. Most of the food was bland and just not as special as the menu would have you believe. Broken Rocks Cafe or the City Square Steakhouse is a much better bet in Wooster.

On Friday evening they have a buffet outdoors. That put most patrons outside. We had the whole place to ourselves. The wine list was outstanding. You can buy wine retail and then pay a corking fee. Of the four of us we had a variety of food, from fish to steaks. The food was outstanding. Service was great.

A lovely, top quality restaurant tucked inside a country inn/hotel. The menu is full service, with a lovely selection of vegetarian, fish, beef, etc. I went to dinner there right before a Wooster Light Opera performance. The place was packed but the wait staff got everyone fed and out in time for the evening's performance down the street. Great attention to detail. Heartily recommend.

This was an outstanding time. Dinner was fabulous. We met friends we had not seen for about 25 years. College was so long ago and we had lost touch for a while. It was great eating dinner and "catching up!" The food was excellent and our waitress was so patient with us as we could not stop talking long enough to order our food. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a touch of really good food and good ambience.

Dining area overlooks the golf course at College of Wooster (COW), though it was dark when we were there. I ordered the fig & almond stuffed chicken breast, buttermilk mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus and grilled grape demi-glace, salad & dressing ($18). It was very tasty and there was still crunch in the almonds. Hubby ordered seared sea scallops, Ohio City pasta® lobster-stuffed ravioli and lobster butter sauce served with tomato based shrimp bisque ($23) which he enjoyed. Paired dinner with a 2010 Matchbook chardonnay. for dessert we shared the shared raspberry cheese cake desert, coffee. total wit tip $110.David, a political science student at COW, was our server.
