Everything from food to service was amazing! Great experience!
We’ve been looking for a great tea place for a couple of years as there seem to be none anymore where we live in Bellevue, WA. As we’re on vacation in Vancouver I googled tea houses and found the Fairmont highly recommended! After dining there, we know why! Amazing service and the best high tea we’ve had in years! A tremendous selection of teas and a cozy, comfortable atmosphere made for an unbelievable dining experience!
Went for our 10th anniversary. Was very cozy and quiet. The ambiance was nice with British photos and items decorating the room. Our server was generous and attentive with his time, and the food was very good.
The price was a bit much if I'm being honest, as for two of us for the tea and what I would consider a smattering of "tasters", we ended up paying close to $150.00 (which is a LOT for what we got).
However we had fun, and didn't mind too much as it was our 10th anniversary. So ultimately I wouldn't hesitate to sit in for another afternoon tea at some point in the future, but it will likely be a very rare occasion due to the price.
Loved the idea of the theme. Unfortunately was disappointed with the lack of variety of teas and many of the sandwiches were odd flavors. Service was great
We went for high tea for my sister's birthday and at the beginning it wasn't great. We were brought to our table and no one greeted us or acknowledged us for about 10-15 minutes. It did look busy, however, another party had seated after us and got their order for tea and pastries in before any one spoke to us. We unfortunately had to track a waitress down to get our order placed. Our reservation was for 11 am and our order was not put in until 1130 am. For an upscale high tea experience, not being greeted right away felt a bit off putting. I will say once we got our orders put in and the tea, we were treated well. The pastries, scones and sandwiches were really well done. They also gave my sister a birthday mousse, which was great. In the end I think it went well and they were also accommodating towards my 19 month year old niece.
Themed room specifically for high tea. Fabulous experience!
Food was very poor, sandwiches we cold and the bread was stale. Nothing tasted fresh.
Tea we wanted wasn’t available and the supplementary tea was bitter.
Lovely time but was expecting a slightly more formal staff. Like the english do it !
Regardless, the tea was a lovely experience!
Had a wonderful time! Will be recommending this to everyone I know!
The good points excellent service .ambiance amazing service friendly loved all of that...I understand that this is a luxe experience and thats why I wanted to treat my mom..so for the price I ended up paying I expected near perfection, I myself am a pastry chef so I'm always looking at flaws, the scones where not wow, I would serve it with devonshire cream or clotted cream, also with house made jam, not runny strawberry puree, the sndwiches not wow either (to be fair I asked for vegetarian) the double decker was not wow, the pastries I did enjoy as well as the Eton mess ...tea was amazing but 200$ plus tips for 3 people ....it can be much much better
It was an incredible experience, the service was fabulous and we were well taken care of. Thank you!!
The afternoon tea was wonderful service and food was exceptional
We had a very pleasant time. Loved the British Tea.
The Fairmont provided a wonderful and authentic afternoon High Tea Experience. The atmosphere was great as a quaint British Tea House. The food was excellent and plentiful. Good Scones, great Tea Sandwiches, a plethora of sweets and a good tea selection. Our server was friendly and atttentive. The overall cost was a bit pricey, but about what you would expect for a tea of this high quality! They even gave us a special dessert treat for our anniversary celebration, and we started with good champagne! Overall a great experience.
I had been wanting to have afternoon tea at the Vancouver Fairmont for over 18 years. Finally on my 60th Birthday was able to to travel from Toronto to experience a British Tea. What an amazing exciting and wonderful experience, I went solo and was very comfortable. Thank you for a nice afternoon for my birthday.
High tea was a must do for my 15y/o daughter and I during our visit to Vancouver. Fairmont did not disappoint! Service was excellent. Our waiter has been with Fairmont a long time and we really enjoyed talking about the different themes of the teas and the hotel. He kindly boxed up our left overs and added a little more to take to take back to my son and husband who were super impressed and pleased with the treats. Great experience!
Dingy and dark
Music had to be fixed so we heard waiters discussing drink orders
Sandwich bread was dry on edges (kept refrigerated most likely)
Spout on Tea pot was bent so it went everywhere when poured (it was replaced but it made a big mess)
Different room with light would be better
We were so thrilled with the experience!
First time I have ever been that full I couldn't eat all the desserts!
Value is great based upon going to other places for Tea!
It was a London theme today based on the Royal Wedding that just happened a few days ago, the service was great and food was amazing as well! Love the environment it is hidden in the back of Notch 8 restaurant so it is not very noisy. There are also props that you can take pictures with as well. Will definitely go back again!
Enjoyed the British theme. Tea room was a bit small on the side of Notch 8 with low ceilings, would be nice if one could enjoy in the Notch 8 dining area.
Some patrons really dressed up for the occasion with hats and everything.
Food flavour was on the heavier end for my taste, although delicately made and a feast for the eye.
Real tea used in individual pots was a real pleasure.
The atmosphere and dining experience was amazing. The theme of the "the great British tea party" was lovely and all the decor really added to the experience. The tea selection was great; they had the classics as well as options for those who wanted to try something new. Our server was very prompt in coming in to refill our teapots with hot water. The food was great and definitely worth the 65$. There was more than enough for two people and it was great to be able to take some home. I especially loved the desserts served. The Lemon Curd tart and the Battenberg cake was delicious!
Great special occasion treat.
We celebrated the Royal Wedding with high tea at Notch8 and it was perfect! Every detail was thoroughly designed and beautiful. Food and service couldn't have been better.
Great food, a little on the expensive side, but I expected it to be so.
The British theme was perfect for the upcoming Royal Wedding. The food was excellent especially the chicken salad and the lemon tarts. And of course, the tea and scones were wonderful. We were glad it was in a separate room from the bar area as it was quiet and easy to have conversation. Definitely a treat and good for a special occasion.
Marvelous it exceeded my expectations.
Had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday. Ambiance of this themed tea room added to the occasion and made it very special. Don't eat before you go. Was very filling..
It was all good until we found a hardware nail in one of the Tarts at the end. Not impressed and it could have been extremely dangerous and harmful!
My daughter and I love having High Tea here, specially the Themed Teas. Lovely atmosphere, great service, good food!
We had a lovely and fun time at the British afternoon tea party. And thank you again to our superb waiter who put up with all our picture taking. We had a a lot of fun!
Love the room for high tea better then last two locations
Seems like we traveled to Britain 🇬🇧
Great service, food was okay. But paying over 60 dollars a person for tea, tiny sandwiches and scones is definitely not worth it.
We went for afternoon tea. Service was excellent. Loved the decor and ambiance. But the food was very mediocre, very disappointing for this price. Tea selection was also a bit limited.
I think the service was absolutely fantastic. I went for the High Tea service as a birthday treat to myself. The assortment of food was delicious. It doesn't look like a lot at first but once you start eating, you'd be surprised how quickly you get full. The server was amazing. She even brought out an extra dessert for my toddler to have, and helped us take pictures.
The only complaint that I have is actually the decor. While it is beautifully decorated, it feels very dark and gloomy. But when I think of High Tea, I think of a bright afternoon, sunshine, and birds. The room that it's actually held in is at the back of the restaurant, down some steps. There's no windows or natural light. So it kinda feels like you're in a dungeon. Lighting comes from potted lights straight from the ceiling so when you take pictures, you'll be cast with dark under eye circles and shadows everywhere.
While Fairmont does Turn Moments into Memories, I can't capture those amazing moments into beautiful, bright photos. For that reason, I most likely will not recommend their High Tea service to others. However, if you don't care for any of the photo stuff, than absolutely, try it out =)
We had two adults and one child. Last year the easter tea was amazing. And was very well suited for kids (little piece of grill cheese and pizza) and a little takeaway cookie. This year it was terrible. My kid is vegetarian and they brought her a beet sandyand one with mushrooms....although she’s vegetarian she’s still a kid. I was disappointed with the of attention to the kids tea. And now very limited tea choice for her also. I just tememylaat year we thoroughly enjoyed it, can’t say the same for this year.
I always love afternoon tea at the fairmont, and as always it was amazing. My only complaint would be that we booked about a month in advance and I was so excited to have the current themed tea, which is not what we received. It was a different themed tea for the Easter weekend (which I saw nothing about when we booked) so I was a bit disappointed with that. Otherwise the service was fantastic and the view was lovely.
What stood out was the friendly staff. They did everything to make sure our visit was enjoyable!
We decided to take our mother for her birthday. Our server honestly didn’t care that it was her birthday. The food was no explained in terms of the composition and what the individual items were. No one checked back on our table till we were through. The level of service expected at the price of $65 per person was definitely not there and it would not be an experience or place to recommend to anyone in the future.
Loved the food and service - this should be a ‘must do’ on your list of things to do in Vancouver BC !
It was a nice afternoon with great food and excellent service but did not think it was worth the money.
