   Definitely will return to try more dishes. The pan frito snack was a tasty starter full of flavor and the dishes afterward were just as tasty. Service was friendly, and well-timed, and recommendations by the staff hit the spot!

    Very disappointing considering the acclaimed chef’s experience and his other restaurants. Tia Carmen is beautiful atmosphere with struggling food execution. To be fair the appetizer round was spectacular. But the main course dishes barely passed edible, in fact three of four dishes were returned to the kitchen only to return to our table in even worse condition. I’ve not returned a dish back to the kitchen in years, let alone twice on the same evening. I would only recommend stopping at this place for a cocktail and maybe an appetizer, but seriously go elsewhere for your main dinner. How disappointing.

    The ambiance was great and the bar was booming. The food is absolutely amazing. It took a long time for our server to bring us water at the beginning but after that we had an amazing experience I would definitely recommend this place very inventive an original.

    Incredible food! We had the tuna crudo, street corn for appetizers. As entrees the sea bass, chicken guisado and the ceviche tostada. All of the food was beyond delicious! Definitely recommend visiting Tia Carmen!

    Service was extremely slow from waiting to order, waiting on drinks, waiting for server on everything. One of my guests got up and went to server counter to get silverware and later in the night went to the bar to grab wine we had been waiting on. When food was finally served, did not hear from the waiter until we were almost completely done eating and empty glasses all during dinner! Food was pretty good overall but nothing I would need to go back for, especially considering the bad service. For the prices charged I expect much better and was very disappointed since I had been excited to try the restaurant based on the chef.

    Food is terrible for the price. No taste, no flavor. Asked for straws, and they brought them in a napkin that had a footprint on it. I expect this from a food truck, not a place where you drop 200 bucks

    The restaurant was beautiful, we chose to sit outside and were put way on the side in chairs that made a noise like nails on the chalkboard when moved, and there were flies, this should be addressed. Yikes! The bartender couldn’t get our drinks right, felt sorry for the server. Food has a lot of sauces on it, ribeye was covered and sitting in sauce. Shrimp also very saucy. The tuna crudo was delicious in a very addicting coconut broth. The kebabs were also good but very salty, and the fingerling potatoes were delicious. I think I was expecting Amazing from Tia Carmen and what we got was just good. Will I go back? Probably not, too many Amazing places for these kind of $$$ in Phoenix/Scottsdale.

    We were there for the Mother's Day Grand Mercado. The ambiance is beautiful, the service very good. The food offerings were outstanding. I was very appreciative that there were so many GF offerings, including desert. The flan was soooo good! We enjoyed the Tomahawk Wagu Steak with the Bourbon butter, Salmon, and Guisado. Just wish that the rice dish while very flavorful wasn't so spicy. Hope to return in the future when it is a bit more intimate. Great job Tia Carmen!

    Tia Carmen is one of the best restaurants in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Chef Angelo Sosa does not disappoint but do not go if you are booked for Outdoor Seating- no misters and the tent coverage does little to keep you cool and thus distracts from your entire dining experience. Outstanding restaurant if you dine inside.

    For the price, I would expect the hot food to be hot, not lukewarm. I had to request fixings for the oysters, tabasco, horseradish…there were no lemons. $39 for a 9 year old to eat 1 bagel and some berries is outrageous. For $148, there should have been endless mimosas. There were no breads or cracker selection for the charcuterie area. Add some lavosh and table crackers. The salmon was scrumptious. The server was attentive. The desserts were delicious.

    First, and most importantly, the food was stellar. We ordered several smaller plates and every single one was GREAT. The ambiance was a bit lacking (but not terrible) and it was quite noisy. It did feel and look a bit like a “hotel restaurant” (which it is). The acoustic design of the back room where we were seated is just not very good, and that was coupled by one large loud group at a table in the middle. The server was also exceptionally good. I wish I remembered her name to offer kudos here, but we certainly let her know while there. Overall it is a spot for great food, with a bit of a mediocre “vibe”.

    Pleasant surprise for an anniversary dinner. Small and medium plates were excellent! Sea Bass was creatively crafted and nicely presented. Rib eye steak was out of place on this menu and not worth the value. Wine list accounted for most tastest. The pinot noir we had was excellent (2018 pappapietro) and described perfectly by staff. All around super experience and we will return.

    We were looking forward to this visit. Unfortunately, the excitement wore off quickly. Service was very slow and inattentive. Truthfully, it’s like we weren’t even there! I finished my first drink and was never asked if I wanted another. The meals were ok at best. Very fresh ingredients which was a plus. Loved the Snack Item of the Bread Balls…it went downhill after that. To end it, waited almost 20 minutes to get a dessert and the bill arrived first. Won’t be back.
