   Pleasant enough surroundings, interesting menu. There was a particular issue with one of the dishes I ordered and the staff couldn’t have been more apologetic and gave me a desert on the house

   Lovely food. Bit overpriced but you get what you pay for. Steak was superb. Slow service down to restaurant being understaffed. Waited around 15 minutes before we could get someone's attention to order a drink.

   5pax. Evening meal. All meals were excellent in taste, delivery and temperature. Artisanal bread was fresh and well varied. Although the veggie selection was minimal, the flavour more than made up for it. Desserts also well presented and very flavoursome. A wonderful evening out. Highly recommended! Manager was kind, helpful and quick to respond.

   Fantastic tea and amazingly attentive staff. It was a beautiful day so we had incredible views out the window too. Only thing we’d change is perhaps having one more savoury item in the tea but other than that it was perfect!

    Unfortunately it was pretty disappointing. Sub par service, drinks were incorrect and had to be sent back, still came back wrong a second time. 3 of the 5 meals were awfully dry, 1 was undercooked.

    I used to visit regularly before covid for Sunday lunch, and was pleased to see its come back, the food itself was very good, but I feel £25 for roast beef with some veg but no cauliflower cheese is a bit steep, usually places will offer a deal on a Sunday,for instance, Celtic manor is also 5* and offers 2 courses for £27, and many other places I’ve been where the food is just as good offer it for £20ish, but here doesn’t, service was greatly improved over my last visits and can’t fault the staff. Adding a 12.5% service change is a bit steep, it’s 5* so I’m already paying for a high level of service and didn’t feel anything I received was above what I would already expect.

    We had chosen the Welsh menu for my husband’s birthday, it was delicious. The crab cakes were so fresh and really tasty, the lamb - possibly the best I have tasted, and the bara brith bread pudding again delicious (although I didn’t feel it needed ice cream and creme anglais …. Just creme anglais would have been enough). Cipri who served us, was excellent. I liked the extra touches because we were celebrating.

    A nice venue, with a view across Cardiff Bay. It serves good food and service was OK. I found the seating, woven wicker style patio chairs, not to be the most comfortable, as they only have a seat cushion and they re designed to have a back rest cushion. (I know this because I have similar at home) The grinder cruet sets were quite new and I found that they were difficult to operate. My wife was unable use them at all. Other than that, we enjoyed our meal and left pleasantly full!

    Lovely restaurant overlooking the bar, nice outside seating if weather permits. Service was friendly and attentive. Had mussels with sea vegetables to start which was good but very salty, maybe soak the sea vegetables to expel some salt. Monkfish was excellent and cooked, seasoned perfectly. No room for dessert so ordered a macchiato coffee but received a cappuccino. Good wine list and reasonably priced, Bloody Mary could have been better as it lacked spice and served with too much ice making it watery.

    Tir a Mor is a very good hotel restaurant. Unlike some modern hotels that can have rather soulless restaurants, Tir a Mor has a lovely ambiance and the service and food we experienced was exceptional.

    We were a family group of 7 - our table gave us panoramic views of Cardiff Bay, which was very welcomed. Superb, attentive service from the staff, lovely Christmas decorated table with crackers. Delicious food from the festive menu, good sized portions and well presented. We occupied the table for over 3 hours and never felt hurried to leave. A surprisingly, pleasant Christmas family occasion. Our thanks.

    Our views are:- A few things for you to note please:- 1. The main entrance to your hotel was spectacular. 2. When we were seated it took far too long to get served. After 20 minutes we only had water on the table! 3. The Indian guy who initially came to ask for our menu choice did not understand the items on the menu. He could not understand “Severn and Wye salmon” – which I understand may be difficult in their native tongue . He also incorrectly described the Pumpkin dinner because I asked him if the vine tomato sauce came in a small separate “boat” – he stated yes. I presume during induction these items are explained sufficiently? I think he needs more training. 4. I would like to give praise to Erin who looked after us yesterday at lunchtime in your main restaurant. She was attentive but not pushy, engaged with us and always delivered with a smile. 5. The food was just excellent, together with a wide range of wine provided us with a memorable afternoon – thanks. Overall we enjoyed the experience which might have been dire if it were not for Erin – please take time out to thank this excellent employee who is an asset to your organisation.

    Believe you me, you do not want me writing a review about the fiasco that was my wife's birthday meal. Call yourself a 5 star hotel???? Do yourselves a favour, go to the Parc Plaza and see how it should be done. Next time I'll go to Mc Donald's.

    We booked a table for three people in the restaurant but were placed in the Bar area. We did not challenge this but were subsequently told that they had assigned us a table in the restaurant with some decoration as it was a birthday meal. However we did not move as the table was for two and not three. We were a little disappointed.

    When booking I was offered the "Welsh Dining Experience" for £50 per head or the ala carte menu (no charge to book) which I paid. When going to the restaurant they knew not what I was on about and just told me to "spend £50 on the al a carte menu". So the "Welsh Dining Experience" is you have to spend £50 each and no refunds according to the waitor. We left and went somewhere else. What an anniversary meal we had booked. Don't pay for the Welsh Dining Experience, it is a con.

    A last minute choice before watching Wales v Argentine, this proved to be a very fortunate choice. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful. Not cheap, but pretty good for a very enjoyable two hours. Would definitely go again.

    Disappointing visit to tir a mor. On arrival at 11:55, we were asked to take a seat in the bar until our table was ready, which we did. No one came to ask if we wanted any drinks while we waited. At quarter past 12, and seeing the staff stood chatting at the bar, I asked if we could go through and was eventually taken to our table. The service was overall poor, and attention to detail was severely lacking. No one checked if our food was ok, offered drinks at any point, or really facilitated a great dining experience. The meal was very expensive for the poor service given, and the punitive 12.5% service charge added to the bill was the final blow for me. Will not be returning.

    Waited ages for main course. Mine was cold but no one asked if everything was ok. Due to wait was so hungry just ate it. Thought waitress was a bit inexperienced. Overall still a nice evening.
