Chips & Salsa
Carne asada, chipotle salsa, avocado, onions, cilantro
Pulled chicken, tomatillo 5 chiles salsa borracha, Mexican cheeses, crema, radish salad
Overpriced, tiny portions with slow service. Overall, good quality is good, but don’t plan on a filling meal.
Food and staff were terrific
Food and service was excellent. The main taco dishes are very small though.
Always good and easy to find a last minute res
Fabulous service and food! Guac, ceviche, and churros before a show. Got there late because of a train delay and they had no issue accommodating us and getting us in and out quickly to make our show. One of favorite nyc restaurants!
The atmosphere and the food were both amazing! The best guacamole and tacos!
The restaurant is very cool. The food was delicious and the waitstaff was wonderful. Everyone around us was having a great time. In this difficult period of uneasiness, they asked for vaccination status in a kind manner, they gave options for outside, downstairs or upstairs dining. The tables were washed down between guests. My husband has been here many times and I now I know why. We will be back and we will send others. Thank your for staying open, hiring such capable employees and for giving people another reason to LOVE the resiliency of NYC. Best to all!
We were heading to see MJ the musical! The food and service was fabulous! Amazing fruit Guacamole with pomegranate seeds, fantastic shrimp entrées and plantains and of course Mexican corn. I have never had a bad meal here!
Delicious food and margaritas! Went before a broadway show, service was great.
Always a favorite when we visit NYC. The best chicken quesadilla I have ever had.
Generally mediocre. We will not be returning. The Palm across the street is a much better choice for the cost.
Outstanding service and terrific food.. Loved the fresh guacamole!
Destroyed the pollo and carne asada tacos. 10/10 would recommend!
Visiting NYC ANNIVERSARY
MICHAEL was our server. Excellent in all ways. Food delicious. Sat on rail upper level (away from people). Perfect.
The worst experience in New York
We got there late after a musical. The food was good. Though it was busy and noisy and not a very cosy place. The waitress remembered that I booked the place for a birthday and wished us a happy birthday. Overall ok though nothing really special. The mojito was average
We were really excited to try this place out, but left extremely disappointed. All of our seafood dishes did not seem fresh. The hamachi appetizer had a terrible, pungent aftertaste. We love hamachi, and have never experienced this before. My sister's cod entree had not only a bad taste, but very fishy odor. My father's order was taken wrong and he was given chicken instead of the shrimp. While the dish was replaced with the correct order, the shrimp meal ended up being terrible too. Even the beans and rice tasted stale.
Don't have the seafood here. It is most definitely not fresh or perhaps they are having an issue with their source. My carne asada was good at least, and the guacamole options were tasty. Drinks were ok.
Very disappointing experience for spending over $300 - you did not feel you got your money's worth.
food was great but restaurant was crowded and it can be cramped
We LOVE this place!!! One of our favorite spots in the city
Guac was phenomenal. Lobster tacos too. Enjoyed the ambience. Crazy crowded for covid times.
This was the first bad experience I’ve had at Toloache. Seated at bar. Bartender was very inattentive. I ordered an appetizer and a main. Other patrons who were seated after me were served and finished while I awaited my appetizer. The restaurant was only somewhat busy. I told the bartender that I had to either get my food or I would have to leave for a play.He just looked at me and did nothing. After 50 minutes I had been served only the sushi appetizer and had to depart without dinner. I’ve dined here numerous times but never had poor service and the lack of concern like this.
Wonderful, authentic Mexican food, inventive menu, very friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good value. A rare theater district find. Can’t wait to go back.
Great experience! We were fortunate to get a table in a “little house” outside which was perfect for the Covid era. Service outstanding and food excellent!
Super cool ambiance. My lobster tacos were delicious, but if you want spice, be sure to ask your server for the most flavorful dishes.
Food was delicious and service outstanding. Highly recommend.
Delicious food & drinks. Highly recommend!
Service was friendly but a little slow and they were not particularly apologetic about getting one of the orders wrong, but the food was terrific.
We were seated promptly and our drink and appetizer order was taken after a few minutes. Drinks and apps arrived but then we didn’t see our waiter for at least 20 minutes. Another waiter finally took our order. The guacamole was bland, the tacos were overpriced for what they were but the enchiladas were delicious.
Authentic, gourmet Mexican. Everything was absolutely delicious.
Our party of two just needed a quick bite, not a large meal. We each ordered a taco plate- one pork and one beef; the plates come with 2 small tacos. They were good, but not memorable. The restaurant was noisy and crowded. The staff were very efficient and friendly.
Overbooked. Service took 2 hrs. Forgot to put in order. 45 min before drinks areived.
Love this spot. Great Mex food and killer Margaritas. Will definitely be back.
Deliciosa la sopa de tortilla.
El servicio excelente y muy amables.
Some of the most amazing Mexican food I have ever had
Margaritas are tasty and generous pours. We had the quest fundido, octopus tostadas and carne asada tacos. All very good. Service was quick especially for a pre-theater meal. Restaurant is crowded inside but there is an outdoor option for those who want a Covid safe option.
This is a "can't miss" for my family of 4. We had a great server (12/22/21), and the Manager paid a nice visit to our table. We only get to NYC a few times a year, but always make it a point to eat @this location.
The quality of the food, consistency, and the ingredients are wonderful for an upscale mexican bistro!
Positively delicious. I would love to know how they tenderize octopus, it was outstanding. Excellent service, lively interior. Keeping this on my must return to list.
Great food and environment. The drinks were excellent. It's reasonably priced and the staff is very friendly!
Pre-Broadway Play dinner for 8. Delicious!!
Everything was wonderful! Amazing food and strong bloody marys.
