   When I booked the table I put in the messages that it was our friends birthday and his first in Canada away from his family etc They brought out a lovely cheese cake with a candle and happy birthday wrote on the plate! The meal was lovely the staff very friendly and great atmosphere

   Restaurant was nicely decorated in a modern design and layout was open. Waitress was not very knowledgeable about wine selections and daily specials. The over all presentation was nice . Steak lacked flavour, slightly over cooked and in my option was not worth the price of 70 dollars. The side of Mash potatoes were lumpy and had very little flavour. The amount of Seasonal carrots and broccoli serving could have been a bit bigger and were over cooked; lacking flavor. For the price , was rather disappointing

   Everything was amazing. This was our second time and they did not disappoint. Service was wonderful and the food was delicious. We appetizers, wine and dinner. The first time we went, we went for lunch and so much for we had to pack some home. We had the corporate luncheon. What a value for 26.00. This time we went for a birthday in our family and everyone’s dinner was divine. My husband and son shared the 99.00 special. Did not disappoint. I sure hope they do a social media blitz and get a little busier or they won’t be around long.

    The food was tasty enough, nothing crazy spectacular, but when you look at the price for what you got, it was not worth it. I don't anticipate returning, again the quality of the food did not match the outrageous prices. You would expect way higher quality for the price.

    We highly recommend the new lunch menu! Standouts were the short rib beef dip, steak sandwich and ahi tuna appetizer. Our server was lovely but quickly overwhelmed as she was the only front of house staff. The weak link was the manager - he didn’t acknowledge us (despite passing our table in an empty restaurant) and wouldn’t pitch in to help when the server fell behind. Definitely not the level of service I would expect from a high end steakhouse.

    Strong odour when we came in (smelled like body odour?) and virtually empty even though it was a busy night elsewhere (other steak houses booked up). Food was poor quality - steak was cold, potatoes unsalted and dry. Appetizer brought out at same time as steak ( which had clearly been sitting awhile). Got rye and coke without any rye in it. Mistake with other drink. Waitress was clearly new, which is understandable, but after we paid she physically stood in our way and tried to argue with us about the amount of tip. Tried to bring in the manager even though we told her we just wanted to leave (and had provided feedback during the meal). Overall not a great experience.

    We had the Valentine's day special. Overall, for a special it was pretty good. we had more than enough food, it was tasty and the service was perfect. I'd go back.

    Food was okay and expensive for what you got. Ambience was low key and not inviting. The table they sat us at… I was literally sitting next to a mouse trap! There was no interaction with our waitress other than she just took our order. We get that same experience at takeout. We ordered an item they didn’t have which was fine but then did not take it off the bill. Thank goodness we checked the bill before leaving the restaurant. Overall it was not a good experience. When you are spending northwards if $350….. you want an experience out! We will not go back nor will we recommend it.

    The sirloin steak was very tender and tasty! Sometimes that cut can be tough, not here! Came with veg and choice of potatoes. Good value for quality I think. Waitress was very attentive and friendly though not that knowledgeable on beer, wines. The ambiance is different?! Attractive enough, we had a large private booth, lighting was a bit harsh. Will go back for the food!

    This was our first time at the restaurant. And when the place was dead at 530pm I immediately lowered my expectations. We were seated in the dining room and read the specials. My husband ordered a glass of wine, the waitress said they didn’t carry that wine anymore, then brought an “updated” wine list with that wine still listed on it. During our meal I overheard her saying the same thing about a different wine to a different customer. It seems like an update on the menu is definitely in order. I had the lobster and crab ravioli. My husband a steak, everything was tasty, well prepared, and a good portion for the price. The only other off putting thing was being told it was preferred for us to pay in cash. But she had the machine for debit or credit “if we really needed it”. Overall the food was good but we likely wouldn’t come back.

    Waited at the front for anyone to come by, and it was very empty for a Friday night. Server 1 was nice but had no clue what the beer on tap was but that it was local and then disappeared for 15 minutes when we had decided on drinks. Server 2/ bartender took over and got our drinks after 15 minutes, my Prosecco gin fizz was straight up lemon juice and barely any gin.. so that was odd tasting. Caesar was all right Tomahawk steak was good, chimichurri sauce was very good. Cauliflower bites were good as well. For an empty place, slow service has no excuse with that many staff- and to top off the night, someone was vaping weed inside. It was so strong and so gross. No way they didn’t smell it 🤢 Has potential but needs some work.

    Higher end prices with good quality food at lower level ambiance - attempting to be higher scale. Staff were friendly. It’s a casual atmosphere, which is in contrast to what you’d expect from a higher end restaurant. The renovations from Jack Astors attempt to be higher scale, but the old garage patio roll up doors and industrial sinks in the bathroom remain and give less and ideal ambiance. The bathrooms don’t like they’ve been cleaned in quite sometime.

    Underwhelming meal. We went at 5:30pm on a Saturday which was a bit early but the vibe was really quiet and the place is huge with a lot of open space so when not full it feels very weird. The server was friendly but couldn't tell us what beer or wine was available without checking. Otherwise service was decent and food/drinks arrived quickly. We started with artichoke dip, the dip was fine, nothing special. It's served with mini brioche buns which would have been better toasted or grilled. The buns were kind of dry and just seemed an odd choice for dip. My companion had the Maui ribs and quite liked the crispy rice cake but said the ribs were just ok. I had a sirloin with Oscar upgrade. The steak was a bit chewy in places but cooked nicely. Unfortunately the seasoning crust was slightly burnt. The potatoe puree (basically a scoop of if mashed potatoes) and veggies were standard. For dessert we shared the sticky toffee pudding which was piping hot out of the microwave. Flavor was good but cake lacked texture due to obvious microwave zap, and ice cream melted too fast. Overall, for the prices, we expected a lot more and probably won't be back anytime soon. We actually said we missed Jack Astor's which says it all.

    They were short staffed so we waited for someone to seat us and then again for someone to take our drink orders. The person serving us didn’t appear to be a server but tried his best and it was very awkward. 2 of us had the chicken cashew bowl and it was subpar. The steaks were good but not great. We will not be going back.

    The food was quite poor. We ordered the Tomahawk meal and while it advertised as 42oz, there was likely only 10 oz of actual meat after removing bone and fat. Prices across the board were outrageous. Ambiance was terrible - the lights were too bright, music was echoing and the kitchen was yelling at our server to take out food while we were ordering meals. Terribly disappointed with the whole thing.

    Overall everything was less than enjoyable. Nothing to rave about for the prices they want you to pay Vs the quality that’s delivered in product and service. The steak was burnt and well over temp but the sides were room temperature and disproportionately small to pair with a steak meant for sharing. Although our server was lovely and had a great attitude, it was clear that she had little to no experience in the industry and this restaurant obviously has no training program or concern to do so with their staff. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

    Out of four different dinners 2 were excellent, one good and one not so good. The ribeye was great, Tomahawk burger excellent, Tomahawk steak dinner good. Steak Frites was not enjoyable. Service was great but overpriced.

    Such a huge space, this explains menu prices. Quality was decent enough but they were out of much of their wine and weren't honoring their special of %25 off bottles. Server didn't know the wine list and couldn't help select something from what was left. Wouldn't try again.

    Overall the experience was ok. The service was poor, partly due to many items on the menu being out of stock for drinks and the waitress had trouble communicating properly of what was available and what beers were on tap. Perhaps she is new or more training needs to be provided. For the food, it was good. Price wise comparing to other restaurants is ok, but there are some higher end steak prices for very similar price. The steak was cooked perfect, burger was excellent and lobster ravioli was good. Will return to try again, but will pay closer attention to the service and if that is poor or similar as we received, most likely will be my last.

    The Tomahawk was a very disappointing experience for our special occasion. An expectation of the level of quality and service was set with the menu pricing but but neither was met. The hosting and wait staff though eager and friendly clearly had very minimal industry experience nor product knowledge. Meal preparation was very average as was the beef quality. Again, the menu price point is way out of line with the product, service and experience.

    The food was exceptional except the ribeye it wasn't all that tender or properly seasoned but all of the appetizers and salad was exceptional. The biggest issue I had wad the dirty decanter our wine was served in I figured it was just on the outside but when we got to the bottom there was a crust built up...disgusting After the first bottle we just had the wine out of the bottle.on another note they didn't have the wine that we wanted that was on their list so the Manager went out and picked some up I will definitely go back because of the food
