   Food was great! I’ve lived in both Italy and Japan, so it was wonderful to see both cuisines being represented so well. Pizza and pastas were fantastic!

   Service was excellent. Ambiance was fantastic. Got to sit in the Japanese floor-seating section. Sake I wanted to order was Out of stock. Beer selection was not great. Food: Pizza: Ordered Mentaiko+corn. Very good. Cauliflower: mediocre Parma ham on chips: a lot of chips and not much ham Mentaiko Pasta: was served nearly at room temperature. Very disappointing.    Pizza came out cold. We returned it. The new pizza came out warmer but not hot like it's supposed to be when you take it out of the oven. I want my pizza hot!!! The Long Island ice tea has barley any alcohol in it .

   Great place to go for a larger gathering (we were a party of 8 and no problems at all splitting the check). Lots of shareable appetizers - cauliflower appetizer and burrata appetizer were favorites! Inarizushi, Little Caesar and Chips w/ prosciutto were meh. Absolute fun carb bombs were the mentaiko pasta and the gyuniku pizza. Super savory and great reheated the next day for breakfast! 😊

   My husband and I wanted to try Wafu and Tonari did not disappoint. Fun great bar/bartender downstairs and the dining atmosphere upstairs was so fun. Our favorite was our server Ryan C. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the Uni pasta the most followed by a half Gyuniku pizza ending with the dessert splitting a Tiramisu.

    The food was excellent - highly rec trying a half pizza as an appetizer - the Mentaiko & Corn was unique and delicious. The Wafu pasta def had a different texture and all of the dishes were spot on flavor wise! My only recommendation would be to add some additional lighting at the 2 tops along the wall - it was dark and reading the menu's (esp the cocktail menu since its printed on brown card stock) required our pulling out our cell phones for extra light.

    Great fushion of Asian and Italian cuisine. If you’re upstairs you take off your shoes and sit in a traditional Japanese setting with area to put your feet if you don’t want to sit cross legged. Definitely recommend the unagi pizza and chicken curry pasta

    Wish the food was just a little bit more thoughtful. Felt like everything was just a little bit off texturally and flavor wise. Service was not great and took us a long time to get food and any attention from our server. A couple of positives - the Tonari Chino was great, we enjoyed the carpaccio and the desserts. The chocolate ice cream on the Budino was delicious!

    Everything was pretty salty. The cocktails were small and tasted horrible. I had to reorder a different cocktail bc the first one tasted like cough meds. The uni pasta was ok and so was the pizza. The spaghetti meatballs were cold and tasted like something out of a can. Overall wouldn't go again. The staff was nice though.

    Interesting fusion idea - Italian and Japanese. As a fan of vodka gimlets and Lemoncello, the Hello Lemoncello cocktail was great! Really enjoyed the antipasti - the burrata and the carne special. Of the mains, the mentaiko was good. The tiramisù was delicious! Chill atmosphere. Great service!

    We kind of fell into Tonari looking for a pizza joint - not at all what we expected, but really enjoyed it. Cocktails were inventive, service was attentive, food was delicious - had the radish salad, clam pizza, and the pasta with nori. All three were great. Definitely going back!

    I was really excited to try Tonari, but unfortunately didn't have such a great experience. We were seated at a table with our menus, but we did not see our server until 15 minutes later. A group that was sat after us was greeted by the same server and received their water before us. We ordered the sesame martini and wafu sour, but didn't love it. The sesame martini was overpowered by the gin and barely had any sesame flavor. We ordered the chips and prosciutto, which was pretty much as described--crunchy, kettle cooked potato chips with prosciutto laid on top. For our entrees, we got the uni pasta and the mentaiko pasta. I was quite disappointed with the uni pasta, because there wasn't even a small piece of uni to be found. The mentaiko pasta tasted good and had a nice texture. However, both portions were pretty small. The ambiance was nice and there was an option for tatami seating, which is traditional Japanese seating that requires you to take off your shoes and sit on the ground. Overall, I was hoping for a better experience after spending $100+.

    Food was just ok. And service was.. not very attentive. Our server was gone for like 20 mins forgetting lots of request. We went here 2/9/23 7:30 PM and our server was curly hair with tall glasses man.
