    Unique golf club like setting in Cave Creek. Very busy for a Sunday night. Loud noise level. Food was very good but kind of pricey. Don’t miss the amazing Sisters Salsa trio with guacamole and warm chips. The best. The onion coated walleye was also excellent. Nice wines by the glass. Very hard to park so be ready to walk a bit. Mixed crowd, a lot of regulars.

    Restaurant was great but you cannot rely on open table. I attempted to make reservations on a Tuesday evening and the only table showing on the app was at 5:00 indoors. When we got there no one was inside the restaurant and only two tables were filled outside. An hour and a half later there were only a few more tables filled. I spoke to the manager who told me to call the restaurant directly to ensure a reservation.

    It was nice to try this place taking advantage of AZ Restaurant Week. Parking was a challenge as it is a skinny and a long lot. Braised short ribs and chocolate cake are a must! Was able to have fun with servers too.

    Dined there for restaurant week and tried 6 out of 9 things available on the menu, so that was good. Overall, it really wasn't that much cheaper than ordering straight off the menu. The crab cakes and corn chowder appetizers were really good (though on the small side). The salmon and short ribs were both very good too...neither were over cooked or dry. Good sides, good flavor, good portions. Deserts were good too but of course very rich and filling. We preferred the chocolate brownie with a coffee flavor over the key lime tart. Our waitress was great and the overall service was good - even for a busy Friday night. The only thing we had that was not worth the price paid was their margarita (Tontorita). Very fake tasting and way too sweet, there was no lime or tequila taste at all and the size was super small....it was just awful. Won't ever get that again, but we will be back for the food.

    The crab cakes came out almost room temperature and I sent them back to be reheated. The server was very cooperative and apologetic. Don’t know if the food was waiting for the server and cooled off, or it the cook just didn’t get it up to temperature. The entree, the poblano pepper stuffed with carnitas, was not bad but also not hot. At this point I don’t care who’s fault it is. Sent it back again. I assume the manager, who never identified herself, brought it back to the table all apologies. OK venue, nice outside dining, but the process needs work.

    34th wedding Anniversary. Been going to Tonto over 20 years and love the place. Pity there’s no dress code. Table next to us was tank tops and flip flops. I could see that at lunch since it’s on golf course, but even the golf course won’t allow tank tops……….

    Shrimp and salmon very dry and well overdone. While we have eaten here for 25+ years, the food has consistently declined in quality over the last year. In addition prices have risen almost 50% over the last year. Not worth coming to anymore. Sad, but need to remove it from our go-to list of local restaurants.

    We visited Tonto Bar & Grill during restaurant week. During this 10-day period, they offer a 3-course meal for $55. This is such a great value for the quality of food they serve here. They have many choices & they are grouped into 3 per category (salad/soup, entree, dessert). Plus they have 3 categories outside of this: gluten-free, vegan & no dietary restrictions. The service was excellent even though the restaurant looked full. I have never had a disappointing meal here. You must make reservations online or you won't get in. And don't try calling.

    We were there for Mothers Day Brunch. The reservations were handled very well - showed up a little early and was seated strait away. The atmosphere was perfect for the event. The food was great for My wife and me. As for the 14 year old son and 11 year old daughter not so much. There food was cooked perfectly just not the type of food a teen and pre-teen enjoy. $72 each and none of us could or do enjoy the mimosas and would have been nice to have some more kid friendly food options . Near $400 donner (with tip) and two people did not eat hardly anything. Please note this is intended to be a friendly comment - we love Tonto Bar & Grill and certainly will be back many times to come. just something for management to think about.

    Need to get new umbrellas in the patio. Many were falling apart. Server was nice, but nose stud piercings were inappropriate. Ugh! The halibut was overcooked and dry. The beef was nicely cooked and tasty.

    The outdoor patio created the perfect setting to enjoy Mothers Day brunch. Our wait staff were all attentive and courteous. The prix fix menu was on point, giving a variety of options and flavors. Even the kids offerings were wonderful with kid friendly choices.

    The service was awesome and the atmosphere was great but the noise level inside was too high to have good conversations at our table. My wife loved her salmon but the others in our party were not impressed. The brisket sandwiches were too salty and my mesquite grilled ribeye steak didn't taste like mesquite, or even a good ribeye for that matter. Overall not impressed. On a positive note, it was my wife's birthday, the reason we were there, and Tonto Bar adn Grill served her a very nicely presented chocolate mousse for dessert.

    Beautiful night to celebrate our anniversary. Food was incredible: corn chowder, harvest salad and sand dabs. Phil provided the perfect amount of attention and service. We forget how wonderful Tonto Bar & Grill is…we’ll be back soon!

    We love the Sand dabs and last night they did not disappoint once again. Three out of four had the sand dabs, the sides are also good. One in our party had the schnitzel and it was very good also. We sat on the lower patio, table was good and could easily have conversation, service was also good. Will definitely go back.

    5:15 reservation and 94 degrees on outside patio . Perfect evening . Traffic started picking up by 5:45 and pretty full by 6:00. Sometimes restaurants build reputations and then fall off the table . This restaurant has maintained standards on each of our three trips !
