Tony D's is a trendy pizzeria that also offers traditional Italian dishes. The restaurant is popular for its authentic signature pizzas. It makes each one from scratch using only fresh and high quality ingredients. The ambiance at Tony D's is modern, vibrant and sleek with a young and trendy atmosphere. The restaurant also offers a full-service bar where guests can enjoy their favorite drinks.
Begin the meal with an appetizer like marinated meatballs cooked in a classic red sauce, crispy calamari served with house special sauce or the shrimp scampi. Diners are welcome to create their own pizzas at Tony D's. Topping options include tomatoes, onions, peppers, chicken, beef, shrimp, crab and more. Guests can also dig into an entree like penne a la vodka or the pan roasted veal rib chop.
They make one of the best pizza I've tried in Rochester, comes in a generous size that can be easily shared by two and reasonable priced.
Best steak in town, friendly service . Would definitely go back
The food was good but overpriced for what you received (just the meal itself, no salad, serving size was modest at best). Our table was in an awkward, the staff seemed to be annoyed that we were seated there 'in their way'. VERY noisy, difficult to hear companion.
I tried one of the specials which was Halibut with broccolini and blood orange citrus salad and it was AMAZING!!!
Delicious food. Enjoyed special Italian drinks that were also delicious. Pricing good on menu, specials quite high and servers do not mention pricing when describing them. All hard surfaces and loud music makes it difficult to have a conversation at times. Tables good sized.
Went for lunch, I had the soup special and we both had Panini's (Roast beef and the Tony D's Special). Soup was delicious and I ended up taking more than half of it home, both Panini's were excellent. Will definitely be back thank you
After we were seated we waited over 15 minutes for server. I had to ask for a waitress. It was extremely loud inside. Food was excellent.
Great service and great food at a reasonable price--good place to eat if you have an evening show at Geva Theatre
Wow the eggplant stack was Great! The veal and lobster special was over the top. This is a must stop in Rochester. Great for a business dinner. Good wine selection by the glass (faust )
Very tasty food, reasonably priced menu items, and very good service
Food was terrific!
The view was relaxing!
I’ve been pleased in the past but this time was not. The price of the food and the quality did not match up. $27 for a special of rigatoni with pork, meatball and sausage is extremely steep, and the quality was not worth the money. Also, no beer on tap is a bit of a disappointment, although there was a good selection of wines.
Wonderful as always.
First time.....Had an enjoy experience and would suggest it to anyone who asks
Excellent service, food selections and quality. Too bad it is so noisy. At our table had to yell to each other to talk.
The food is amazing and the service is excellent but the acoustics are horrible I would not recommend this to a friend or family who is looking for a quiet dinner. We met friends we haven’t seen in a while I was looking so forward to catching up, Totally forgot how loud you can get not sure what can be done about it
This place is a gem. I sat at the "Chef's table". I enjoy cooking, so it was entertaining and interesting to watch Chef Alex work. We talked about some of the specials and other dishes he made. Just a fun experience. The food was prepared perfectly. Flavors were spot on. Service was top notch. Can't wait to come back.
Have heard about Tony D’s for years and have never made it for dinner. My wife and I finally had a childless date night and had an outstanding meal. We both left very happy with our meals and very disappointed it took us this long to go there.
Our reservation was for 815 on a Friday so we knew it would be busy but the noise level made conversation difficult. The food was solid and I probably likes mine the best- it was a Sicilian sausage special. The shared calamari was also well received. My son had the Caesar salad and my daughter the meatballs and spaghetti and both said they had better. My husband ordered the salmon special which he liked a lot but was put off when he got the bill and it was $36. Twice as expensive as the other special and other meals. A heads up on the cost would have been appreciated when the specials were described.
My brother and I went to celebrate a special accomplishment. Our server, Stacy, was exceptional: quick, knowledgeable, friendly, approachable. The cocktails were fun and delicious. The food was cooked perfectly. We were into the ambience- the tin style roof and view of the river. It was our first time and we loved it!
Wonderful food and a very good waitress. Noise level was off the charts-not a place to go to talk with your companion.
This place is sooo underrated as I have Never heard of anyone having a less than great meal or experience. The specials list the other night had 5 must haves including the best steak in town. Too many great choices from apps to entrees to dessert which is why I hate going there. :)
It’s was very noisy we could hear each other at all , we ask to sit outside.. that was nice .. our server was great. If you love delicious food this is a place for you.. I couldn’t believe how everything was delicious..
Unbearably loud in the bar area spilling over into the dining room. We were there at 5:30 in the afternoon too! We couldn't even hear each other. Then we waited 20 minutes before we left . They never even took our drink orders yet and the first thing she said was that the "bar was behind". They suck!
Everything was great except the music was too loud for good conversation.
We went in on Friday night a party of 5. The noise level was so terrible that we ordered appetizer and that was it. We couldn't hear each other talk. The music was loud, then add people trying to talk over that it was unbearable. WE left as quickly as we could.
Aside from waiting an hour after the reservation, service was horrible, after the hour waiting we waited another hour to get appetizers when both tables around us were seated after us and were served appetizers and meal prior to us receiving our appetizer! Refills had to be requested and usually required grabbing attention of the waiter as he approached on occasion!
The food was great and our server was friendly and attentive. The only negatives: my drink was cleared away with at least another sip left and my fiance was still working on the piece of pizza on his plate when it was taken out from in front of him. We got drinks, appetizers, and entrees and were in and out within 50 minutes. It was a busy Friday night and they were on a wait, so I understand wanting to turn tables quickly, but we felt a tad rushed. It's also very noisy. Overall, we'll go back!
The arancini appetizer was amazing! The food is always great here and we had a beautiful table with a view. One of us got the steak (perfectly cooked) and the others got a specialty pizza and beet and orange salad that they said was fabulous. Great meal! Will definitely come back!
We had a lovely evening -- good food, good wine and a delightful waitress!
Fabulous appetizers and entrees, enjoyed a cocktail at the bar beforehand. Service and hostess all friendly and professional. We will be back.
We enjoyed: meatballs al forno, stuffed clams, Sunday pasta dinner, house salad, bread and balsamic & oil dip, espresso.
Drinks were average and somewhat pricey: Manhatten cocktail, riesling wine, Bailey's coffee.
Service was good but I prefer that when our server asks how something is, they walk away as you answer without the courtesy of looking at you when you reply.
It was ok, we thought it was a little loud in there and the food was just ok. I would probably go to an other restaurant before I'd go back.
Wasn’t blown away by the food. It wasn’t bad, but wasn’t as good as we were expecting.
But I feel it is over priced for what you actually get. I will probably not go again.
Pizza was good, meatballs we’re very bland. No draft beer.
A bit loud, I preferred it when the patio was blocked off, but otherwise excellent!
What a great place to eat on Sunday evening. Awesome waiter, food and cocktails!
Our meal was exceptional, staff very attentive, this is one of our favorite places to dine.
The food was good, and there was a nice view of the Genesee River, but it was almost unbelievably loud. It was impossible to hear anyone at the table without shouting, and consequently impossible to take much pleasure in the experience.
