My husband and I were there for a dinner. We tired the tasting menu. The presentation of each dish was beautiful. I could tell the restaurant uses good materials, but all the dish were overly salted so that I could not taste the goodness of fresh ingredients. The wings and the cocktails were outstanding though. I think the price of the tasting menu is overpriced for what it is.
In Vancouver from Toronto for the weekend and we wanted to try a new place. We were definitely not disappointed. The chicken wings were one of the best chicken dishes we’ve ever had. I’m not normally a fan of duck but the duck was absolutely amazing. We sat at the bar and the girl making drinks was extremely friendly, as was our server. Would recommend 10/10 times.
The food was great! Have a great balance of taste. Would recommend to friends and family. The only thing was we didn’t get our drink until the second dish came. Other than that, I love the vibe. A very cozy place to have a night dinner at.
We had a great experience. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Cocktails were excellent. Tasting menu was really good - gave us a range of interesting flavor that wasn't entirely dependent upon red meat. Left not overfull but extremely satisfied with our choice. Would go again although reaches the upper limit of the meal budget.
Did not love sitting in the corner otherwise it was Good!
Delicious and fresh Asian fusion cuisine. Some of our favorites include the roasted Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and broccoli with roasted chick peas Nd balsamic glaze (so good we had two orders!). The duck was tender and flavorful. And the golden beet salad was amazing,. The dishes are meant to be shared. The cocktails were interesting and delicious. We’ll come back for sure!
Second time visitor to Torafuku and happy with the consistently flavourful and inventive food choices and quality service. We will be back again.
The food and service was good, but I think it’s overpriced...
Delicious and very interesting menu. Steak was superb. Uni Corn dish also excellent! Great cocktails. Highly recommend.
We were wowed by the creative dishes on offer at Torafuku. We chose the Uni Corn
and Poutine??? , and finished sharing a Magic Stick.
This pan-Asian restaurant really hits the spot.
The menu was so appealing that another visit to try other courses is on the cards.
I could not get enough of the Uni- Corn featuring garlic buttered prawns. My dining
partner's Poutine??? was a real winner. Duck Ragout was the chief component of this dish but the unlikely appearance of
Tempura Polenta stole the show.
Desserts under the heading "Happy Ending" were limited to two but they hit the
bulls-eye again with a delicious rendition of Chocolate Granache named Magic Stick.
Friendly service and value for money prices only served to enhance our experience on the night.
LOVE the Rabbit Food, the buttermilk dressing and crunchy bits are such a good combo. The spot prawn pasta dish was also very tasty. Cocktails were perfection, first time I've had the Emerosa (pink one) with the jasmine tea and strawberries. Service was perfect, our server was helpful with food and drink suggestions.
My husband and I went on a Friday night at 5:30pm. The early seating was great because it was empty upon arrival but completely full by the time we left. Overall, this was a great restaurant if you haven't been before and happen to be in the area. We tried the tasting menu, really enjoyed General Tao’s Fried Chicken Wings, Everyday I’m Brusselin’, Magic Mushroom and the steak pieces in The Donald. Cocktails were delicious and the dessert was okay. The only other part that really stood out was a pretty good old school song list.
I was a huge fan of Torafuku when it first opened. The menu and service were both great. The menu has changed quite a bit and the food wasn’t nearly as impressive. The server didn’t seem very engaged; she didn’t explain anything with the menu until asked and didn’t seem very friendly. She also brought the payment machine before we had our cards out/were ready to go. As a server, this is a big no no! I wish the food was more exciting as well. Overall, mediocre experience.
Beautiful food, interesting cocktails, welcoming, professional staff. Great atmosphere.
Very tasty food
Food was good but definitely not worth the price on the menu. This was more low mid range value. The set menu was ok.
very accommodating with their group menu when one of our party was a child. Drink specials!
I highly recommend this place. We had the tasting menu and everything everything everything was absolutely delicious. It was a great place to visit with friends and slowly enjoy an awesome meal without having to be rushed out of there.
Service was top notch. Amazing tasting menu for a great value. Unpretentious and down-to-earth but still refined.
Fodd is okay if you like onions and garlic. A request of no or minimizing onions was denied. The server doesn’t care.
Drinks and food serving sizes are miniature at best. Overall a poor experience.
I've been to Torafuku three times now and all three times did not disappoint. The service is excellent and attentive and the food is just absolutely delicious. I've ordered the entire menu now since the portions are small and I don't have a complaint about any of them! My favourite dishes are the brussel sprouts and the duck tacos. Amazing!
Very delicious and enjoyable evening. Good dishes for sharing. Tasting menu offered a great variety of food and flavours. Will definitely be returning.
I have been twice and will be back for the food and great service.
Everything we ordered was delicious. I will definitely return.
Came here for a small, casual birthday celebration. The food was outstanding and worth the wait!
Loved this place! Hidden gem, where the duck tacos are a must! The dishes that they serve in are pieces of art and truly contribute to the experience . Great place for a quick and delicious bite before a concert or game!
I’m not s big “cocktail” person but the gin delight they created was crazy delicious!!
Truly a delightful evening!
Amazing cocktails and all the food was fantastic, super fresh, interesting and a very good value.
Deep Fried Quinoa. What a brilliant idea. A fair bit of veggie heavy dishes which had a fair share of deep frying to keep everyone happy. Great rich flavours and excellent cocktails. Set menus make it easy to order as a group.
Great experience from beginning to end. A little pricey but really good food. Worth visiting and revisiting.
Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and can't wait to go back. Arrived just before 9pm on a Saturday night for dinner, and was promptly advised of Happy Hour: $2 off cocktails after 9pm! Standout items were the brussels sprouts, magic stick, and green lambo cocktail. Also had the kickass rice, chicken wings, and magic mushrooms; everything was tasty. Can't wait to go back.
My son took me to Torafuko in my last visit to Vancouver and I really think that it’s the BEST japanese restaurant in Vancouver! Love everything!!!
good place but wasn’t thrilled to be informed of a time limit that was not mentioned anywhere on the reservation. a bit of a damper on the experience and as a result, was rushed to order, eat, and got our bills faster than intended before moving on to another spot. would have stayed longer otherwise.
Great options for vegan and meat diners!
Definitely worth a second visit. If it's your first time here, make sure to order the chicken wings and "gone fishing " which is a deep fried whole fish!!! Great sauce, get white rice to eat it all up!
Dinner was good, but not enough to bring us back. Nothing wrong, but there are so many great restaurants in Vancouver, it takes a lot to get me back to one. This one didn't quite do it for me. It was a little pricey for what it was and the neighborhood as well...
The $13 cocktails were a little disappointing as well. Small and not Juniper quality.
Wonderful innovative and healthy. Perfect spot to dine before boarding VIA Rail at Pacific Central Station.
