Enjoy European-style cuisine in the Main Dining Room of the Trapp Family Lodge. Open for breakfast and dinner, this expansive, wood-paneled room offers a relaxed, gourmet dining experience complemented with attentive service and beautiful mountain views. Enjoy farm to table ingredients, some of which are raised and harvested right here on our property. Dinner is served in the main dining room and the lounge from 5-9pm nightly. Outdoor patio seating is available seasonally and is weather dependent. On Friday and Saturday nights, the Lounge which offers a relaxed bar setting and an upscale tap room menu is open until 10pm.

Join us for a candlelit dinner in the Main Dining Room or a more casual affair in the Lounge both situated high up on Trapp Hill allowing the perfect view to see the sun set below the mountains. Reservations are required.

    We dined with my parents who were from Germany! They loved the Weiner Schnitzel vom Schwein - it was right on point! My Dad cleaned his plate! Our servers were friendly, efficient and accommodating! The Pretzel board app came out warm and was enough for all 5 of us! Beautiful scenery from the lodge!

    We were surprised that there was only the buffet on Saturday but maybe that was because it was a holiday. The buffet was really good but I would always prefer to order from a menu. It is a lovely restaurant and the scenery was just beautiful! The service was great. We enjoyed it very much.

    Our dinners and appetizers were excellent. Loved the beautiful music while dining and our server Ryan was excellent. Such a fun night out in Stowe! Love the ambience of the Austrian inspired lodge.

    A perfect place for our family celebration. Everyone loved the food — even teenagers! Service was excellent. A good place to enjoy conversation with good food and drink in a beautiful setting.

    Beautiful view inside and out. Service okay. Was anxious to leave having to travel up to Smugglers Notch and snow and road. So a little impatient on my part but server understood and took care of bill right away. Yes it was worth the experience to eat there.

    The breakfast buffet was excellent. Lots of variety and tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant was spotless and nicely furnished and decorated. View was excellent. Well done. I feel comfortable recommending this place to anyone. I'll eat here again next time I visit.

    Before dinner we enjoyed a cocktail with Joe. He was easy to chat with and poured a nice drink. We enjoyed our dinner and the laidback atmosphere. The food was plentiful and tasty. Cassidy was attentive and also easy to chat with. A shoutout to Saunie for showing us around the property. We’ll be back!

    Ambiance was perfect for relaxation & those who loves nature most. The food was just A-ok, my burger was tasteless, the chicken salad sandwich was dry. Waiting for the server to come to our table was long. Server was not that attentive at all.

    We had an amazing time! The staff was so nice and polite. The food was delicious. The views were spectacular with the Fall colors. We felt like we were in Austria again! Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

    Was a let down all around honestly. The food was fine, nothing amazing the service was awful. We were sat and waited for our waiter for roughly 15 minutes before water was even brought over. We got our food after being there for an hour and 15 when it was all said and done it was a 2 hour experience and our reservation was at 8 pm, there was approximately 3 other tables including ours.

    While the menu is limited, the beer pretzels and cheese dip are a must! The Bibb salad and the Wiener Schnitzel were both equally excellent and more than enough to share. Unfortunately, we were pleasantly too full for dessert. P.S. There is an extensive wine and drink list that’s also excellent.

    We had our reservations and got seated timely. We waited almost 10 minutes to get the attention of a wait staff member - only because I caught his eye and gave him a signal that we have not been helped yet. Apparently there was either no one assigned to our table or everyone was that no one was checking. There was a young man who was setting tables and he saw us but did nothing to tell anyone. It certainly was embarrassing to be ignored. The waiter apologized profusely and took our orders. The food was beyond our expectation after the wait. It was as if we were prepared to be disappointed. My dish was delicious and my husband was happy with his, as well. Our appetizer was comped according to the waiter, as a way of making up for the oversight. Overall, the value for the experience was alright. I would recommend the restaurant with a disclaimer to make sure that customers are aware that not-so-pleasant experiences may occur.

    One of the nicest dining rooms I have been in for dinner in a long time. Lovely room with beautiful mountain views, wonderful service, quiet, a piano player at dinner. Not cheap but worth every penny spent.

    I was a bit underwhelmed visiting the Von Trapp. I understand the appeal to keep this intact, but it felt like being a visitor in someone's home. Maybe that is what people like about the place, but it just didn't seemed well-kept. The food was absolutely delicious, though. Next time, I will opt to eat at the Bierhall and visit the Von Trapp separately.

    I expected a more upmarket / special felling to the experience and maybe it’s because I had saved up our visit to coincide with both our special anniversary and my birthday. The service lacked any warmth and attention, we had to ask about desserts and never asked if we wanted coffee etc after, no member of staff even acknowledged our leaving or asked if we enjoyed the visit. I am torn if I would recommend the establishment

    The food was wonderful and the ambiance has remained consistent with my experiences coming up here since childhood. Enjoyed sharing the experience with my wife. We loved sharing the Lindertorte dessert. The musician was great and he played music my wife loved and he appreciated the she was reaponding postively towards it.

    The service by the wait staff was excellent. The breakfast buffet was replete with many delicious food choices. Views of the mountains & fall foliage was awe inspiring. The per person price of the buffet was very reasonable.
