The food was amazing! Great location, service was excellent. Would definitely recommend for a date night.

J'ai déjà mangé des linguines aux fruits de mer chez Gio mais cette fois-ci les fruits de mer étaient en trop petit nombre contrairement à ce qu'annonçait le menu ... j'en ai fait la remarque au serveur qui s'est contenté de déclarer que c'était la cuisine qui était responsable !!! Gio m'a perdu comme client.

La nourriture était bonne et consistante! La musique était bien ! La seule chose qu’on a aimé moins c’est le temps d’attente pour avoir sa commande !

Très mauvaise expérience chez Trattoria Gio pour le souper du 31 décembre. Service incroyablement lent et peu professionnel. Nourriture médiocre. Je regrette avoir choisi ce restaurant pour notre souper de Nouvel Année.

New Year’s Eve celebration

Restaurant was very welcoming. The staff was great and attentive. They did not rush us at all even though it was New Year’s Eve. The restaurant is in a great location. It’s good for a large crowd too. The prices were reasonable. And portions huge. The food was tasty. Everyone in my party enjoyed what they had. But it’s wasn’t outstanding. I would go back if we were visiting Montreal again.

Only two waiters for multiple tables. Barely received drinks; multiple dirty tables surrounding us and no one cleaning up. Food was barely warm, staff kept apologizing for poor service. Complete bust.

Overpriced type of tourist restaurant , calamari undercooked , pasta bathe in oil.

Un peu cher pour la nourriture servies et la sangrillia a 36 le pichet

La nourriture n'était pas mauvaise, mais pour le prix, on se serait attendu à mieux.
Une personne à notre table n'avait pas commandé d'entrée. Lorsque nous avons reçu notre entrée, on a amené à cette personne son repas principal! Qu'est-ce qu'elle aurait fait pendant qu'on mangeait notre repas principal? Mangé son dessert?
Aussi, le dessert qui accompagnait la table d'hôte était supposé être un "sponge cake" au citron. Je crois que le gâteau avait été préparé plusieurs jours avant, il très dur et pas vraiment bon. Heureusement, un serveur (et non notre serveuse attitrée) a eu la gentillesse de faire un suivi avec nous et lorsque nous lui avons fait part de nos commentaires, il nous a offert un autre dessert pour remplacer.
En somme, ce n'était pas un désastre, mais comme nous avons déboursé un bon montant, et que le restaurant est quand même situé sur la Place Jacques-Cartier, nous espérions mieux!

Excellent, ma destination resto par excellence au Vieux port.

Food was great! Service was a bit slow with regards to filling water glasses and second round of drinks

Bathrooms were dirty and not kept up well.

Nice decor but took over an hour to receive the food. Very nice but very inexperienced server had no ongoing training or back up- so on top of the long wait to get food- there was a long 30 - 40 min wait to get check. When we asked we were told they had a “rush”-although restaurant was half empty. If you want to linger for a long time and have nothing else to do and aren’t hungry its probably fine. Otherwise go to Modavida or something else even if theres a wait to get in- will still come out ahead!

Quick and helpful service! We were visiting from the US and our French was a little rusty. The staff quickly switched to English without hesitation. Any restaurant we can get our picky eaters to go to, especially in a foreign country, 5 stars!

I was looking for a place that could accommodate big groups. The food and drinks came out hot and in a timely way and were delicious. My only complaint is about the wait staff. It was hard to flag our server down near the end when we had to get going. The server also got two of our orders wrong and she had written everything we said down. Added to that, the bus boys came out very confused about where to put plates, which you think the server would have noted.

C’est un bon choix de restaurant. La nourriture est très bonne et les portions sont généreuses. Le service est attentionné et bon.

Family gathering to celebrate a wedding anniversary. They were able to accommodate our large group (12) very easily. There was plenty of variety on the menu to accommodate everyone’s taste. Bread was nice and warm, served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar or butter if you prefer. Portions we generous. Food was delicious.

Very long wait time took 45 min just to get apps. We didn’t even order diner it took so long there were only
Ten people in this place on a Saturday night at 7-8 o’clock that should tell you something. What we were able to get for food was good though so
There is potential but seems some of the bad yelp reviews I read were true. I wanted to make my own opinion and I never complain.

Not impressed - very very expensive for very average food .

I made a reservation on open table and upon arrival was told the restaurant was closed. They said to try the cafe next door oh and sorry. Ps, the restaurants were all crazy busy which is why I made reservations. Poor management.

I booked a table for 4 people for Christmas eve dinner with Open Tables. The day before, I was requested to confirm my booking, which I did.
My surprise was when I got there and found that the restaurant WAS CLOSED!
There was not any message on the door about any unexpected closure or anything similar.
Open Table did not contact me to tell me that it was closed. Open Table probably did not even know that the restaurant was closed. That means that Open Table does not contact the restaurant to request the bookings or confirm the status or timings of the restaurants it works with.

I am upset with the restaurant for probably not updating their open schedule to OpenTables. And I am very upset with Open Tables to let me do a booking with a closed restaurant and even request booking confirmation on Christmas Eve, which is a special night.

I don't think Open Tables is taking its users seriously or feeling any respect for them. I am not using this platform anymore.

The place was quite. Serivice they offerred was very excellent. I am satisfied with the place and food. I like the soup there, which was very tasteful.

Had a wonderful dinner with great service. A nice ambience for an evening meal.

Nous sommes allez un groupe de 6 personnes pour un repas d’affaire sur l’heure du diner et nous avons eu un excellent service. Les employés était tous très professionnels. Je recommande fortement ce restaurant à tous et je n’hésiterai pas à y retourner. Merci beaucoup à toute l’équipe pour votre travail formidable.

Super expérience, pizza et pâtes un vrai délice, le service était impeccable nous avions peu de temps pour diner et le serveur nous a pris en charge dans nos délais! Je recommande fortement ce restaurant!
