We came from vancouver and someone had suggested us this place. I would probably say it was amazing what we expected it to be it was much more better than that. I was in love with the ambience 🌟🌟. It's a ten star from my side.
Firstly we got scolded by the hostess for missing our reservation the night before despite cancelling it online and calling in to rebook out of courtesy. We were sat in the solarium which was so cold we had to wear our coats during dinner. Our section was understaffed so our server was swamped, though very apologetic. The hostess gave us a dessert menu despite our dinner not having arrived yet. My pasta was crunchy but otherwise the meal was nice, but not impressive. The bartender came around with shots for everyone in our section to apologize for the long waits, and the waiter took our wines off the bill- though we hadn't complained. Overall the experience was a mixed bag. I would go back again in hopes we would have the experience we had been looking for and came from Vancouver to have. Our waiter was lovely, and we would ask for a seat inside next time
Good service and delicious food, the scallops and carrots were amazing. I'll definitely go back!
Trees has amazing ambiance and a GREAT breakfast brunch menu. Dinners on on the high side, but lovely.
Made a reservation for valentine's day and over half the menu was unavailable, including all vegetarian options. Not the best for a restaurant named "Trees".
My girlfriend and I booked a reservation to dine at Trees on Valentine’s Day. Upon arriving, there was no table prepared for
our booking. We waited for 10 minutes for a table to be prepared while we sat at the bar, and received no greeting from the bartender or any serving staff. AFTER we had decided on our meal, we were informed that half of the entree items were unavailable. For dinner we ordered the braised short rib. The food took over 60 minutes to arrive, and the presentation was terrible. The potatoes and the vegetables had been forgotten, and there was no garnish as shown on the dish on social media. The server assured us that this is how it came, but we had to point out using the menu that the dish was missing the potatoes and seasonal vegetables. We received 3 small potatoes as compensation. The manager was kind enough to remove the meal from the bill. Overall was very disappointed with the dining experience. We would unfortunately not recommend Trees Restaurant to anyone. Staff need more training and food should not take 60+ minutes to arrive with the restaurant at a 1/4 capacity.
It was a bit disappointing that a bag full of mixed greens & some sliced pear, sprinkle of cheese with 3 prawns was $28. The dressing wasn’t great either. The curry prawns were too spicy and it overwhelmed the whole taste.
Trees Restaurant far exceeded our expectations. We live nearby and have passed it multiple times, peering through the windows in the early morning; however, coming for dinner was amazing. The ambiance was fantastic, the staff are all amazingly nice, and the food was terrific. Our server even took the time to provide us information on the business model, which has shifted from the initial idea. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially those who like a good upbeat spot (with Kanye on the Spotify rotation). Looking forward to stop in for brunch next!
Portions are so small for appetizers, it is almost embarrassing. Service was poor. Server forgot our main course. Nice ambiance. But will not go back.
Fantastic evening. Flavour in my food was tremendous. Troy’s service was fantastic friendly and he knew and
Explained menu. I cannot wait to go back.
The atmosphere was nice but our food took more than an hour and a half to get there. Even though the place was nearly empty. There was a very small amount of food for the cost too, we had to go to another restaurant afterwards.
Excellent everything can’t wait to go back!
The kitchen was closed but the cocktails were great. It was pretty empty but the service was wonderful.
Recently had friends in town and we were so excited to try this out. So happy we did! The staff was super friendly and accommodating, the ambiance is beautiful and the food was ammmazing. The truffle butternut squash ravioli was our favourite. We’ll be back!
Excellent service, a lovely ambiance, and delicious food... Exactly what we were looking for in a date night!
Showed up on New Year’s Eve at 6:30pm for a reservation we made on Open Table and the server looked frazzled and told us he couldn’t accommodate us (party of 2). No option to wait, no option to move things around. Told us someone made a mistake with their reservation system and offered to sit us (two 6 ft tall people) at the small bar over a pot of boiling water (a bar that didn’t look big enough for a plate let alone a nice New Years dinner. So disappointed in our evening. The server offered to comp a drink while we decided and we declined, left with nowhere else to go on New Years having banked on this option and chosen it over regular places we dine. I’m appalled by the lack of concern and the fact that they couldn’t even contact us to let us know before 6:30 on NYE. I’ll be telling telling my friends and won’t be coming back for a second try. Worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had by far. Thanks Trees for wrecking our NYE. Restaurant has since marked the reservation as seated on open-table and offered us a free meal but we respectfully decline as that doesn't fix the inconvenience they caused from taxiing downtown in torrential rain to find out we had nowhere to go on the busiest night of the year, to be turned out on the street with a simple "sorry we couldn't offer you anything". I'll happily take my service and money elsewhere where my time and business is appreciated, even if this is a local company.
A great little earthy restaurant. Food was mediocre compare to similar competitors in area. Price point average.
