Triple Nickel Ratings and Reviews
Celebrating my daughters 26th Birthday
Triple Nickel is a favorite. The food is always excellent— try the perch— the service is excellent, and the bar is lively. Great place!
Good - except previous visit parking coin was free - now $3.
Excellent dinner, ambiance and service! Enjoyed the sausage pepper appetizer. Lamb chops and NY strip!
Good range of appetizers and entrees. Everything we tried was delicious, particularly the brussels sprouts, the pork tenderloin and the pecan encrusted walleye.
Comfortable ambience and attentive service.
I've dined here twice. Both have been exceptional experiences. The food is delicious and the service is exceptional. Both times I was in a party of 6+ and both times the entire party felt well attended to.
We went there for New Year’s Eve dinner. I ordered the Filet Mignon and they realized that they forgot to make it (after bringing everyone else’s food to the table). They quickly brought it to the table, but the kitchen clearly rushed it. The meat was not at all seasoned—it was as if they just threw a piece of meat on the grill for a few minutes and then threw it on the plate. I also never got a steak knife, which wasn’t a huge deal, but it seemed odd. At any other place you’re given a steak knife a few minutes before your steak comes out. They apologized for it being late and took it off the bill, but I would definitely not order that again if that’s seriously how it’s prepared.
Great service and good food for the price
We made reservations for a group of six on New Year’s Eve and I couldn’t recommend this place more. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. Ambiance was great and prices were fair the the food. I would highly recommend!
Very good food. We had several appetizers and varied main course dishes and everyone was happy. High marks to the frogs legs. Attentive staff. Drinks were a little strong. Sorry that it wasn't busier. Hope it sticks around. We will be back!
The seared Ahi Tuna with cabbage slaw was heavenly
It was my first time at this restaurant. My daughter had filet, which was good. My husband and I each had the ribs. They were tasty, but I'm not a fan of "fall off the bone" ribs, so I wouldn't order them again. My salad was dressed with the lemon and oil dressing. It tasted like a mouthful of sugar, with no lemon taste at all, which was disappointing. I was offered another salad, which I accepted, with a different dressing. My husband and daughter split the strawberry shortcake for dessert. It looked good, but I didn't taste it. As this is the holiday season, there was a private party upstairs with extremely loud music. I was happy to leave shortly after the music started. The service was excellent. Our server, Michelle I believe, was on top of her game. She was very attentive and nice. It was a pleasure to meet her. I plan to return. The menu is very nice and I want to try a few more things.
First time dining here (out of town visitor, with relatives). 730pm Fri eve reservation. Very noisy. Food very tasty. Mixed up service. And did I tell you... very noisy.
Food and service was very good. Was a little worried though, we had made a reservation and when we arrived we were told it would be a bit of a wait. Many of us had to be at another place, so the hostess did agree to put together some tables by the bar for us to sit at. All worked out
table was just north of door. area was too chilly, given mid afternoon on nominally 35 degree outside temp. waiter was helpful/patient
Our server did an excellent job of giving us the pros and cons of items we were considering and everything we tried, including items from the low calorie section of the menu, was good. A nice feature, especially in the winter, is that the parking deck is free in the evening and connects directly with the restaurant, so you don't have go outside.
Enjoyed our dinner. Asked to move to a more comfortable table not in the center of the room but more comfortable on the side and fortunately hostess very accommodating. Food was good- had the walleye -vegetables could be less buttery for those customers on low fat diet particularly ordering health conscious options like fish. Waitress excellent and nice atmosphere. Would return.
Love that they take reservations since it can be tough to get a table In Birmingham. Enjoyed the portabella barata with angel hair pasta. Marinara was a nice sweet taste. Very yummy. Husband had the perch special which came with good looking snow peas and a bit of rice. Trout could use a touch browning up but the flavor was still good. Daughter had the chicken parm. A good staple to have on the menu so the parents can go out without fear of there not being something teen friendly on the menu.
Overall good. We will be back
The food and drinks were really good. Our server was also really good. Will come back.
The food was delicious. The restaurant is very attractive. The waitress was a little over zealous.
We've eaten here several times, but this visit for lunch was awful. It took 45 minutes to get the food served. It was undercooked (other tables were complaining about the same thing). It was like everyone at the restaurant had just woken up. Hopefully they will have their act together the next time, if there is a next time.
Service was good. We really enjoyed our meal. Nice dining environment!
The food was great and the staff was beyond gracious. My order was wrong when it arrived at my table, therefore I decided to cancel it. The waiter and the ccok simply would not let that happen. I looked up and my order was at the table corrected and the it was on the house! The food was delisous and the atmosphere is perfect, comfortable; noise level just right!
Our only comment is it would be a nice gesture to pick up the entire cost of the parking instead of charging your customers $3.00 per car.
Food was great. Service was too. Got really loud after 9:30 and we had to leave.
Been there multiple times. Sat upstairs for the first time & had a nice time in the bar area. One problem is that it is incredibly loud upstairs and very hard to have a conversation.
The noise level was horrible. You could not have a conversation at the table without screaming. The noise overtook all of the other good qualities. While the service & food were very good, I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to anyone who wants to talk with who they are with. I can't imagine a business meeting etc.........
Great service, fun ambience. Some unique items on menu are worth trying.
Service was good. Our waitress Brook was helpful, in that she helped us pick out drinks and dinner. Over all experience was good. The menu had a nice selection of cocktails. Appetizer and dinner options are plentiful. Ambiance was fair. The only complaint if I had to give one, was that restrooms were single only; using the restroom meant you had to wait until the patron before you was done. Will come back again to try different menu items.
5 star prices and not a 5 star environment
Food was very good and so was the service
Delicious food and great service. Would definitely go back
Good food and service. Fish and chips good. Service good!
We have been to Tripe Nickel numerous times. The food and service was good, but forced to sit at the table by the kitchen, bathrooms and service bar area. To be honest it was an awful place to sit. I highly recommend going there, but don't sit at that table.
Food tasty, nice decor!
Our waiter Ryan was probably one of the best. He was so friendly with a quick wit and humor. He made our first visit such fun! Thanks Ryan. We will return. Keep smiling you were great!
Great service and an excellent meal. Went there for girlfriends birthday
They only do brunch on Sunday, but it's well worth the trip to go there. The short rib skillet is amazing, and you have to get the banana fosters French toast.
A wonderful brunch menu with great selection, good portions, and reasonable price. A wonderful very casual place for six good friends to get together to catch up; great table and service.
Great Service, Fun Ambiance, but ultimately a restaurant should have good food. Sadly, the food was disappointing.
