   Did you ever go to a restaurant and they seat you by the kitchen or bathroom, even when most of the tables were empty. These folks sat us in an empty room. Don't appreciate it. Also, the food is way overpriced and a terrible value. Let's see, unwelcoming, bad value, food not great. One star.

   While the menu reads exciting and delicious, the food has continued to fall pretty flat. A lot of the staff I’ve interacted with are disingenuous and barely professional.

   Such a beautiful environment and staff was great. The food was not as exceptional as on prior visits. Nonetheless it was very good, and easily the best for miles and miles and miles. Will always go back

    I went to the restaurant about a year ago and it was much better. I understand there are new chefs there now. The food was not great this time around. I was specifically getting vegetarian dishes and non-pasta dishes and each meal was a real disappointment. I expected much better. The restaurant isn't very pretty either. Very basic. Troutbeck is a great property so it's disappointing that the restaurant is sub-par.

    Troutbeck is a special place to me. I had my daughters wedding reception there under previous ownership and it was just perfect. Our dinner experience last night was very special; the food was great, the service was great and the ambience was perfect. We'll be back.

    The restaurant at Troutbeck was terrific. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. Service was great. The dining area was delightfully quiet, and the food was very good. We'd have preferred perhaps a more intimate setting such as a booth, but we did have a corner table for two, which gave us privacy. The host even provided a pillow for my wife's back, which was very thoughtful. Although my short ribs were a little fatty, they were delicious. We will definately be back.

    My husband and I had a 12:00 lunch on a Monday. Our waitress, Alexa, was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The Shashito peppers was delicious and the smoked tomato soup was too! The shoe string potatoes was my dessert! Perfect! We’ll be back to this hidden secret in the woods.

    An absolutely wonderful dining experience. Food was outstanding from the Creature bread to the winged skate. Our server, Tiffany was fantastic. She was knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. Ambiance was the perfect rustic vibe for the Hudson Valley, or anywhere else. Highly recommend Troutbeck for a great dining experience.

    From 26$ tomato soup to flat coke to a burger with a store bought bun - the experience left us hungry and frustrated. The food is expensive and not very good and less than average quality. Doesn’t feel at all like a farm to table experience that is promised. This is the second time we dine there and probably the last. Too bad because the grounds are gorgeous.

    We hadn't been to Troutbeck in a while and found it hugely appealing for a luncheon. The menu was varied amongst the unusual and the standards, which I think is probably pleasing to most people. My husband and I had the beets and thought they were excellent and unusually done with nice crunchy additions on top and smooth creamy (miso I think) on which the beets were presented. YUM!     Really lovely experience. Great ambience, attentive and knowledgeable service and outstanding and innovative food. We are going back for Thanksgiving and will do romantic.stays at the hotel. An immediate favorite.
