The food is delicious and healthy. It is a great place to take varied eaters, because everyone can find something on the menu.
Food was great, ambiance good, waitstaff and servers were very nice but took 10 minutes to recognize I’ve been seated and when asked what the server recommended from a few select dishes, he recommended something completely off the list I told him as if I asked the question- what is your favorite from this menu as a whole. After rehashing the question again, he gave me a very bland answer. Not sure what to say. I feel the staff is very nice, appearance and aura amazing but take a long time to recognize you’re sitting at a table and cannot answer any question with a logical answer.
Great food, drinks, and ambience for brunch! The only downside was the portion of my meal was kind of tiny compared to other meals that I saw, but other than that, everything was wonderful and I’ll be back again.
For breakfast, lunch, or a casual, quick dinner, True Food Kitchen is our "go to" restaurant in Chicago. The food is fresh, unique, and healthy. And the service from the time you walk in the door through the squash pie for dessert (😊) is outstanding. A big shout out goes to our favorite server... Sam! She gets our vote for "Server of the Month!"
My first time here was last Fall and I fell in love with the place. Creative and healthy and wonderful food is an excellent combination. When I found out that I would be visiting Chicago again, this was the first place I reserved for dinner! Every dish was excellent and my special cocktail (Forbidden Root) was ridiculously good. My daughter's cashew Pad Thai was one of the best I have ever had. I wish we had this restaurant in Omaha : - /
Doesn’t matter which Tru Food Cafe you visit the experience is always outstanding. Friendly staff. Fast service. GREAT food!!! Fun people watching. Our waiter Ryne was awesome and helpful. We will keep coming back.
The selections were delicious and fresh. The service was wonderful, but a little pricey for lunch. Two entrees, two lemonades, $64.00. That's a bit much.
Excellent food. Service was very good!
It's a nice looking place and the servers seem pretty well trained. They need to figure out a way to keep the cold air from blowing directly into the dining room every time the door opens. The food was pretty good but very slow to be delivered and one of our entrees was cold.
Food is very good. Love the menu! Service was very low-quality needs more training. And the value was not so good the prices were too high
Good spot for healthier dining options, and it has a long menu that will please everyone. Feasible to get an entree for as low as $16. The food is high quality.
Wow! What an exceptional dining experience. From the moment we walked in until the time we left we felt cared about and treated so well. The food was exceptional, everyone in our party had different dietary restrictions and all of us had our expectations exceeded. I had the pad Thai with shrimp and the chia pudding for desert and I wouldn't have changed a thing about either. The pudding was creamy and not too sweet, with a beautiful toasted coconut on top for crunch. The green plants throughout the restaurant really added an element of warmth and aliveness. Highly recommend!
Fabulous service. Diverse menu to please anyone with a punch of flavor in everything!
Great selection of healthy options, respectable portion sizes and a lovely, open ambiance
Good food, nice ambience. Great staff! I would absolutely eat here again.
I was so disappointed. I've been to True Foods several times and always enjoyed it. This time I was with friends, one of whom had never dined at TFK. My food was bland and undercooked. Definitely not worth the money spent.
I was a little apprehensive going to a restaurant tied to a health and wellness industry celebrity but thankfully my misconceptions were proven wrong. The food is delicious, the wait staff is very kind and attentive and the menu provides plenty of options for diverse dietary requirements. I'll definitely be returning with friends and family.
Our waiter was exceptionally attentive and helpful.
Wonderful service and we enjoyed our time immensely!
Fun space to get some really healthy food! Parking was easy on the street, would recommend for those looking for a healthy meal with Gluten free and vegan options. Service was great as well.
Food and atmosphere was great. Service friendly, prompt and helpful.
In the name of creating healthy food, they are serving bland food (it doesn't need to be) with no efforts in making it delicious and presentable. Must be like an assembly plant there in the kitchen. What a waste!
Great fine in a city with many great places to eat!
Great food and service. Only complaint is hot tea served in open bags I had to hold from spilling during steeping - odd set up. Very knowledgeable server who was helpful.
Egg. scramble was delicious but not warm from the kitchen
Amazing!!! Best vegan and GF options! Always so satisfied when I leave there! Our waiter Nick was awesome too!
Was so happy with my breakfast experience that I made dinner reservations too! Definitely will be back my next time in town!
The food was not quite as good as my last trip there. For some reason, the sweet potatoes in my bowl were really spicy - totally different than prior. But our chopped salad and cauliflower were great. And he waitstaff were impressive and kind.
One of my favorite places when you want delicious, healthy food!
The service was great. Brussel sprouts were average. I really liked the Edmami dumplings. They had the perfect texture and the truffle was amazing. Lasagne was on point. We also tried the ramen dashi which was average at best.
The staff was very nice but the food was terrible and over priced. The bread was stale, sweet potatoes were hard, Turkey burger was awful. It is really not up to Chicago food standards, which is too bad because the concept is great.
I’m vegan. Waiter forgot the request for vegan cheese. I ate an animal product for the first time in 16 years. Not happy to have that string broken by randomly careless mozzarella. Not happy.
True Food Kitchen was a great option for a girls night out dinner with a group that has varying tastes. We were all looking for healthy, fresh options that we didn't have to feel guilty about indulging in and that's exactly what we got! The brussel sprouts and kale hummus were a crowd favorite for appetizers and we would highly recommend the fresh and light cocktails!
We had a party of six food lovers with a variety of different desires; vegan, vegetarian, GF, fish lover, etc and everyone in our party was super happy. Our service was fantastic, the atmosphere modern and chic, and the food amazing. We made a reservation and actually got in right away. We will be back!
Great food, nice waiter, but tables are way too close together.
Great menu and great service!
The waitress was great and the food was amazing!
Such a good, easy, casual place to go! This place is perfect for a quick bite/drink after work. Especially if you have multiple people in your party that have specific food needs (GF, Vegan, etc.) their delicious menu has something for everybody. Get the edamame dumplings!!
