I recommend with caution. Perhaps this was an isolated incident but upon arriving we felt simply out of place. Stared at by passing wait staff for 10 minutes until we could get someone to stop. Upon learning that we had a reservation it took another 20 minutes that find that they didn't have a table for us. We were told that the reservation was "taken to late", which didn't make since to us. We were offered a two seats at the bar and since we traveled out the restaurant we took them. The bartender, Nathan, saved the day. Great service for the remainder of our meal, which was great. Very filling comfort food. I would recommend, but don't expect to be treated like a guest unless you sit at the bar.

It was my parents anniversary and we took the family here for brunch. It was really lovely. Everyone loved their food (kids and adults) from the pancakes to the pierogies to the avocado salmon toast to the breakfast sandwich. The food is delicious, fresh and varied. The restaurant has very nice decor (although I could do without the huge screen in the background playing the slightly louder then preferred music videos). My father had a great time taking the kids around to all the Ukrainian heritage displays and reading about the history and culture. This is a great place to come for any occasion. I’ll be back for sure.

What a winner! This was our first and definitely not our last visit. We had WONDERFUL service. Our server was helpful in guiding us through the menu and drinks. The food was AWESOME, full of flavor and beautifully presented. And let's not forget the atmosphere which was warm and cozy. Everyone at our table loved Tryzub and is already talking about coming back.

We loved Tryzub Ukrainian Kitchen!!! The Goulash and potato pancakes were wonderful. Also, we loved the assorted pierogi platter --- delicious!!! Service was outstanding -- so friendly and helpful. We will eat here again-- I can't wait!!!

Very nice portions in keeping with their pricepoint. Innovative spins on traditional fare. Flavorful meal from start to finish - soup through dessert. Service was spotty and it was hard to tell if they were understaffed or not. There was a major delay between drinks being served and food starting to appear and then everything came at once, which is not wonderful at smallish tables. The server was friendly as was ancillary staff. We concluded it was likely a matter of short staffing on a Sunday. She had to roll between two separated dining areas and had little help visible. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation for quality food, interesting libations, and price. It was a little noisy with the big screen videos being loud and annoying rather than adding to atmosphere. Not a place for a romantic encounter but for an informal good meal with family or friends.

What a great surprise! Whenever I visit Chicago, my host looks for a restaurant that reflects the city’s ethnic diversity. Tryzub is one of our top finds! Having visited Kyiv, and being partially of Ukrainian background myself, I found the food very authentic but with a modern flair! Waitstaff was very friendly. Will definitely go back! (Also, both my friend and I are non-meat eaters, but there were plenty of choices for us!)

A warm, ethnic spot with unique decor and atmosphere. Food was exceptional however to delicate/mild, adjusted to average tongue. Fantastic flavor of horseradish/honey vodka drink (served with tiny pickles), however to mild/week again. Don't be so shy, give more kick in to spicy side and you will be a winner!

This was my first experience in a Ukrainian restaurant and my friend and I had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, the server was informative and cared that we were enjoying the food. Another server was helpful telling about her favorite dishes while we were waiting for our table. All in all, a fabulous experience and I know my friend and I will return with more friends. We did watch Check Please which was why we decided to try the restaurant.

This charming spot is able to be both authentic to its traditional culture while providing fresh interpretations to the food. For example, stuffed cabbage has bison and black rice and is lean and tasty, not heavy at all. Summer borscht was served in an upside down goblet and was bright and tangy. Service was excellent. The space is charmingly filled with photos, family mementos, books and the earthy yet bold colors of the Ukraine while bright large windows add cheer and sunshine. I was there for lunch but will go back to sample the house infused vodkas in the future.

This review is only based on service. We were seated immediately. Once at our table, no one acknowledged us for 30 minutes. We were ready to place our food and drink order but it was impossible to flag down a server because they never came near our table or made eye contact with us. We eventually had to get up and leave which is uncharacteristic of us. It was very disappointing because we were very excited to try the cuisine but we felt invisible. Will not be going back, which is a bummer.

We recently decided to move to Ukrainian Village and prior to our move, try out some authentic Ukrainian cuisine. Tryzub was a perfect first choice. We popped in for brunch with my father-in-law and his wife. The brunch menu is a small add on menu, but the lunch/dinner menu is more than satisfactory to anyone needs. They have a wide variety of goulash, perogi’s and pot pies just to name a view. I ordered their goulash pot pie and the meat was tender and plentiful with a very delicious hearty flavor. The prices are fair in comparison with the portion size. It’s got a great updated Ukrainian ambience. Service was a bit slower than what you normally get but that was not an issue since all my needs were taken care of. Highly recommended - it’s a great cultural feeding and feeling.

We were very pleasantly surprised! Went for an impromptu Valentine's Day dinner and loved the slightly cheezy, giant crackling projection-screen fireplace, Ukrainian music videos, live piano player and especially (no kidding) the friendly staff and warm family atmosphere. The food was delicious classic Cossak comfort cuisine and definitely worth a repeat visit!
