Tuc Craft Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
good and peaceful
Good food, friendly staff, awesome atmosphere
This is my first time eating at Tuc. I had the crispy bacon egg and the al forno beef. I think the dishes are good for sharing. Would like to try their other items on the menu. The servers were friendly.
Great beverage programme. Service and food were good. Music selection and volume level needs some work.
Love this place. Been a few times now for date nights and also for business dinners. Food is always excellent and the service staff are awesome. Great food, casual setting.
Went there just for the happy hour which is always great! I’m those kind of people who can’t eat much but just want to taste as many as much! Happy hour dishes keep it small but tasty, perfect for me! The service was so nice, I loved her laugh! Great place, I’ll definitely keep going back
We had the most excellent time! Service was incredible, timely and thorough. Food was amazing! Everything about our experience was top-notch!
Pork Belly Crackling, and Surf & Turf were delicious; however, we didn't like Seafood Tamarind Bisque. The soup didn't taste quite authentic at all and found it's quite expensive for such a small pot. My husband ordered whiskey sour which didn't reach his expectation. Tables are too close to each other so we felt no privacy at all (elbow-to-elbow with strangers). Upstairs seems more quiet but only open to bigger group reservation. I've been there couple years ago for their brunch and it was better experience than this dinner we just went.
One of the best dining experiences I've had in a very long time! Otto was knowledgable, friendly and an overall great server. The food was super fresh and creative. Soooo yummy!
Me and family went on a Friday evening for cocktails and dinner. The food was excellent and the cocktails are interesting and unique. The only problem was we waited over 50 minutes from the time we place our orders till our main dishes were bought to the table. Although we were not really annoyed or anything but that long wait just ruined the mood. And it seems this is kind of a frequent thing which leave me ponder if I would come back again.
20 years ago I would never have ventured into this area at night. Now, an up and coming metero scene, there are many hip shops, salons, restaurants, and bars. tuc is simply amazing. The food was a little on the wintery side for August but it was scrumptious. We had the pork belly (chicharrones but more like Hawaiian pork belly, not Mexican). The lamb meatballs were the best I've ever had anywhere including a fantastic Greek restaurant in Washington DC (sorry Anatoli, better than yours too). We then had the braised beef on mashed potatoes. The beef was tender and delicious but the potatoes were more interesting. They tasted like nuts or something slightly aromatic and had crispy cheese curds melted on top. Next time I will try the Elk Carpaccio, the Steelhead Ceviche and their version of Bouillabaisse. It's work the walk from the SeaBus or Canada Line. Do it!!
Probably one of the best restaurants in Vancouver. Everything we ordered was an absolute hit and the service was top notch.
Great place for an after work dinner date. I enjoyed the cocktails, especially the Stubborn Mule.
Steelhead ceviche and chicharron - the steelhead was delicious, but barely any of it. The chicharron was barely edible, it was so hard. Elk carpaccio - the greens were good but otherwise lacking flavour - waiter suggested adding bread, which made zero sense once the dish arrived. Surf and turf - best thing we had, but wouldn't rush back for it.
Waiter was friendly but a bit of a pest, frequently interrupting.
we were looked after in every way possible. super helpful and attentive staff (but not overbearing!!) I loved the mussels and sausage dish! we had a really great time
If you park close, you will have to walk through some riffraff. It's not the end of the world, but not a great date situation or with kids. Bar was ok, apps were ok.
My daughter liked her steak but I was under whelmed by the pork shank. They seared and then deep fried the shank which gave a chewy texture to the outer layer of fat. It was a neat approach but more fat was left on the shank than I wanted. There was a great salsa verde on the plate but only about a table spoon. More salsa would have livened up the dish.
Storefront in Gastown. Cute place. Food and atmosphere were very good. Try the mussel and sausage appetizer. We loved it
Rustic venue. Limited menu & different than they posted online.
Ok value for happy hour but small servings.
Freindly staff & hostesses.
Menu online was quite different than in restaurant.
Good food and nice ambiance
Brunch was only okay, limited options and no eggs Benny. I prefer dinner at Tuc, but would not recommend for brunch.
Food was fantastic. There was a large group and our order was delayed. The hostess brought out a free appetizer. Just a great experience.
THe meal was near perfect from starter this panna cotta. The mussels were fantastic. We asked for more bread so we could enjoy the sauce.
Great quality food and service. Portions were larger than expected so come hungry or be prepared to take some food home with you! Chicken and waffles are to die for.
One of our favourite brunch spots! The bacon egg, pork cracklings, and chicken & waffles are all so excellent! One of the only places I have a cocktail with breakfast. Great original recipes!
Always a good time at tuc! Never disappointed, altho my friends cocktail (i think it was a spicy margarita) was not up to par.
But beside that everything was great! Love that they take reso!
In a city full of dining options, Tuc Craft Kitchen is high on places to eat for me.
It was my second visit. The first was a fantastic lunch and the last being a good dinner. I was in Vancouver to catch the U2 concert. We grabbed an early meal (5:30pm reservation) prior to the show. We were a group of 4. We arrived about 5 minutes late for our res to 60 to 70% filled restaurant.
In short, the food was quite good - enough to return for sure. We shared a few starters and then had mains. Two of the party kept raving about the vegetables on their entree. Not that the protein fell short - the vegetables were that "stand-out" good. That says a lot to me. The culinary team is definitely doing a lot right when people are talking about the excellent flavor of the vegetables on the dish.
However, the place was hopping shortly after our arrival. I think the kitchen got overwhelmed. The food came out very slow. Perhaps the reservations could have been paced out a bit more.
Two servers were looking after our section. One was fine (3/5) and the other was very good (4.5/5). Not sure if the first was new or less experienced. The other server definitely made up for a couple of minor misses. No big deal and not a deterrent from a return visit. It was an exceptional night. I don't feel our experience was indicative of a typical night there.
Although this meal fell a bit short overall, I still recommend the restaurant. The restaurant gets high marks on commitment to quality, solid flavors, friendly service and value.
I was there for lunch. I ordered a chicken salad and the chicken was very dry. Salad was drenched in sauce. It wasn't very good for $16. Service was good. They did their best to rectify the situation. I've been there for breakfast and they do a good chicken and waffles. Perhaps just an off day for the kitchen.
very big portion for the "crispy chicken Waffle", taste good and not oily at all!
Good as bro!
Food is always top-notch! Creative ingredients and preparation. Service swift and friendly with the right amount of attention. A bit cozy to other diners. Will return!
Wonderful as always. We've been going to Tuc since they opened, and have never had a bad experience. Staff is fantastic, food is fantastic (even the menu gets tweaked seasonally so there's always something new to try for folks like us that have been going there for some time). In particular, the cocktails are delightful (recommend a bourbon Caesar for brunch, or a Tony Soprano for an evening treat). The bacon wrapped egg is another tasty snack if your just in for a drink. It's hands down one of our favourite restaurants in Vancouver and would recommend it over and over (and have!).
My party enjoyed the meal and atmosphere a great deal. The one downside is one of my party was ill for the next two days after eating the mussels. Can't be sure they caused it, but she was the only one who had them and she got quite ill.
Great for brunch! The staff was super helpful. If it's just two of you, the window is a great spot to people watch and drink mimosas.
The menu and food choices were not that great this time. They often change and last few times better.
The restaurant had a nice feel and everything started out fine. The restaurant was quiet and we still waited a long time for our mains. Then the mains and sides came out at different times. Two of us sat with our meals for five minutes before the other two were served. Once we were served our last main the service stopped. We asked for our bill still surrounded by all the dirty dishes and no offer of dessert. Won't be going back.
Amazing time! Great service, wonderful food and awesome selection of beers😊
The parsnip chip appie was huge for two people, but good! The sausages in the mussel and sausage appie were so tasty. Definitely great value during happy hour.
The Elk main was a bit tough and there wasn't enough mushroom sauce. The pork and beans dish was fantastic. The chocolate pudding for dessert was also very delicious and wonderfully moist.
Most restaurants seem too noisy to me these days. Tuc was not too noisy, and we were there on a Saturday night. We could care a conversation easily and didn't have to speak up too much, a definite perk.
Was sat near the door, super spacious once you come in. We've been to tucs for brunch many occasions and already knew what to order. Our waitress, I think we had two I'm not sure, they were both lovely and knowledgable. A little bit pricey, but treat yourself 2017 right? Can't wait to come back again, and also try dinner next time!
