Second time to two urban licks and it was great! We had a larger group and service was excellent! Food is so fresh here, perfect mimosa’s. Wonderful brunch spot for two or for groups.
The overall experience was great. Though there on a Wednesday, the restaurant was about 60% full in the main dining area, with a two-person live band which made for a nice, relaxed feel. The decor is trendy, but not over-the-top that you feel the need to be over-dressed. I would probably put it somewhere between Sunday brunch and business casual. But, cocktail attire is is completely fitting, as well. Do to the awesome open grill/rotisserie area in the middle of the restaurant, it can become a bit warm, but not uncomfortable. Dress in layers.
We were seated near the patio where the doors were open creating an amazing scenic view of downtown. It connects right to the Belt-line, so if you feel like going for a walk afterwards, all you need to do is walk out the back patio. The place is a tad dark, but it is fitting in order to capture the ambiance. But, no so much that you are unable to see your menu or the person sitting across from you.
Our waiter was courteous, polite and informative, but seemed a bit frazzled and possibly over-whelmed. The time between cocktail, appetizer and meal orderings was a little long, but not so much where it made me feel my experience was affected negatively. It is not the most vegetarian friendly, but there are a few options (~2 to 3), and the overall menu is a bit pricy, but your portions and taste make up for it. I would put it at the medium/high side of $.
All-in-all, this is a great place to go for a special occasion, cocktails or casual meal. You will not be disappointed by the food, nor the environment. I highly recommend it!
P.S. The valet works with Square if you do not carry cash for tips! It is a free service because there is no self-parking. If you are completely against valet, I would suggest Ubering/Lyfting.
I always have an amazing time. I love the atmosphere here and the food is amazing
Brisket was over cooked and chicken had no season . When food arrived it was warm but not hot
Amazing as always!!
This is my second visit to Two Urban Licks. The food is fairly consistent and tasty, but not everything is delicious. The salmon chips are good but normally need more cream added (I asked for extra cream, removed the salmon from chip and mixed in more cream, reapplied to the chip and viola!). In addition, the bread is a great start but the spread (which tastes like a buttery, lemony hummus) needs help! Our caesar salad was overdressed, so the dressing on the side is a good idea. The gouda grits and mashed potatoes are a win!
During both visits, the servers were moderately kind and attentive but not overly. Hence, the service is very good but not outstanding.
Overall, I would recommend Two Urban licks as a very good choice for late evening dining (and I’ve heard the brunch is amazing) for what’s available in the area.
Crab cake was amazing and our server Cameron was awesome!
I feel like the portion sizes at Two have gotten significantly smaller in the last few years. Perhaps in an attempt to seem more high class? But considering how much one pays for each menu item, the portions should be at least 25-50% larger.
Visited Two Urban Licks with friends this past Saturday night. We had reservations and we were seated shortly after our arrival - maybe a five minute wait. Table service was prompt and attentive. The menu options are very good covering salads, to small plates, and main dishes. The scallop dish was excellent as were the other entrees at our table: tomahawk pork-chop, chicken, and brisket. Only drawback to the evening was that they were out of one wine we ordered by the glass but there was a reasonable substitute.
Brisket was DELICIOUS and for dessert we got mint chocolate chip ice cream, came with 3 scoops and 2 rice krispy squares...also DELICIOUS. Blackberry Frosé also DELICIOUS. Literally nothing disappointed. Our waiter was mediocre but I'll chock that up to it being 1.5 hours before closing. He comped our appetizer since we got it after our entree though so there's that.
Enjoy this restaurant every Tim I am in Atlanta!
The food and service was great as usual. Cameron was great.
Always a nice vibe and now you can watch as folks walk by on the belt line- the location is a sweet spot on that belt line
Enjoyed the salmon chips, which are my favorite. The only issue we had with this visit is the server asked one of my companions "Do you know what a Frittata is?" although that's what she selected for her order. I don't believe she would have ordered it without knowing what it was. Why assume she didn't?
Life changing brisket. Really like this place as a well done date. Great food.
