Our first time visiting, it was amazing. Sushi was great, we had the crunchy hako, park ave (incredible), tuna by tuna (not that great), and the volcano. Ryan our server was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Love their tea in the heavy stone kettle. We will absolutely be back!

We went expecting to be able to order anything on the menu and were told we could not order anything warm!!!! They had an issue with the gas. They did not even offer anything off the bill. I wish they would have let us know when we made our reservation we would have went somewhere else Complete disappointment!!!!!!

Wonderful as always. Generous portions, even the speciality rolls with Wagyu & Lobster come in rolls of 8 pieces whereas some places will skimp and only give you 4 or 6 roll pieces when extravagant ingredients are involved. Even the regular nigiri pieces are generous, so keep that in mind; Thick pieces of fish vs thin. The rice is on the sweet and rich side. 1 roll and 10 pieces of Nigiri was enough to fill me and I am used to Omakase dining of 18+ courses. Take that as you will.

The place was inviting, went for Magical Dining and they had a good menu. We had the Miso soup to start then went in with some Sushi and a nice Sake to sip on. The main course we got lo’mein and fried chicken which it was okay nothing to rave about. Service was amazing and dessert was great. It was a nice experience over all.

Enjoyable experience but a bit high in price. Sake price for nigori was double other restaurants and rolls were just a bit higher. Parking is also an issue in this busy area. Service was excellent. All the rolls and the Udon noodle dish were well done with very fresh, melt in your mouth, tuna. With other options near, we won’t be making this our regular sushi restaurant. If you are nearby already, they will take good care of you. Just don’t order a bottle of sake

Dinner at UMI was excellent. The food was spectacular. The different flavors came together which added to the overall experience. The ambience was very nice. The owner checked on us several times to ensure we liked everything! Great place for sushi!

Tried Umi for the first time during magical dining. The fact they offer a salad or miso soup is great being that it’s only 3 courses usually. The crunchy hako tuna was a perfect mix of flavors and crunch. I picked another crunchy item the crunch salmon tataki. It comes with thin, crunchy rice crackers to use for the bite size spicy salmon. Very delicious and refreshing. Then I finished with their incredibly light and creamy mango Panna cotta. The mango was amazing, fresh and house made. I love it here

It was a Saturday night on a holiday weekend during Magical Dining so it was busy at the restaurant and we got seated about 25- 30 mins past reservation time. The staff was kind including the host and the server although service at the table started slow. It seemed as if there was one woman serving all the tables outside which may have taken away speed of service. The sushi was great especially the Mango Tango roll, the entrees on the other hand took away from the meal because they seemed rushed and not good in quality. The Karage chicken was over cooked and dry but it was followed by an excellent dessert. The dessert was the chef’s special, a mango topped light cream. I’m not sure what it was called. Overall we still liked the restaurant enough to try again but next time we will be weary of what time we go and what we order.

We were quite disappointed with the magical dinning menu at Umi. It's my second time here and I couldn't remember my 1st experience so I came back to try it again and will probably be my last. Make sure to reserve if you're going out on a Saturday night, we made one but still waited 15 mins before we were seated. There are cute shops near by to check out while you wait. The magical dinning menu is more americanized and not authentic Japanese food, not worth the $40 for the quality of food. We started off with the miso soup and the salad. We had our entree before our appetizer for some reason. The Miso Mushroom Udon wasn't bad, it is better than any other dish we had but sauce felt too heavy for us. The Yakisoba Noodles with Pork Belly was a definite no for us. It came out cold and tasted nothing special besides noddles with soy sauce. Barely even had any pork belly, came in tiny cubes. For our appetizer, we had the Firefly and Bishoujo roll. The rolls were on the simple side and nothing too unique about it. We made a mistake and not try their popular one, Crunchy Hako As for desserts, we had the tiramisu and the mango dessert. The mango one was quite enjoyable and refreshing. However, the tiramisu was not real tiramisu, it came out frozen as if it was an ice cream cake. We took one bite and that was it. As for the service, everyone there is friendly and nice. The owner even came out and check out on everyone. Our server, on the other hand, were barley present and not checking up on us. We felt ignore because we mainly were just waiting on food or being helped. He never even passed by our table for us to call on him. We waited 15 minutes and had to reach out to other servers to help us get to go boxes and after 10 minutes of getting the bill, we had to reach out again to other server again to get our payment process. Unfortunately we came out upset as we chose this place to celebrate our anniversary and didn't enjoy it at all.

This was the first time I came to Umi and I must say it was great and enjoyed everything . The food was great, the service was amazing Sky was my waiter and she was the best!!! We actually had the opportunity to meet the owner and she was so nice. I will definitely recommend this place to friends.

We ate here for magical dining. We arrived during lunch hour. Not many people were inside on a Saturday. Our waitress dropped off menue and left us to look at menu. As we sat, another waiter came and did a through explaining of the menu to the people beside us. I was left feeling a bit under informed as my waiter did not offer the same menu explaining. We had 3 rolls, the Krazy Krabi, spicy tuna and 70%. We loved the Krab but the other two were not very good. For dessert we had mango penna cotta with was delicious, and a slice of terasmu cake with unfortunately was frozen so I took it home. All in all I've had better sushi at bayridge.
