   I had the chicken and gravy came cold including the cornbread. The cheese app was the size of a small piece of toast for size comparison “Luke warm” order side of Mac and brisket probably the best part but Luke warm also so much for being in a cast iron skillet. Couldn’t order beer because they didn’t have there liquor license renewal done. At a tavern! So all and all never going back

   Food is normally great. Mother's day brunch buffet was a complete bust. Food that was advertised was not available. We were asked to pay first, which was a first for me. Couldn't get any answers on when food was coming out, complete lack of order, and overall bad service. The restaurant should stick to what it knows and that isn't brunch buffets.

   The Mother's Day Buffet was not as advertised. They did not have any of the seafood station stocked - Maine lobster tail or shrimp was not available. The scrambled eggs were green on the bottom and the biscuits were dry and stale. The prime rib was undercooked and they were trying to cook it to order (medium, well, etc.) in a fry pan on a hotplate. It was clear that they were not properly prepared to conduct this Mother's Day Brunch Buffet even though reservations were required. Due to poor management, they did not have enough food and what food was available was not properly prepared as the kitchen was rushing and scrambling to provide something. The manager agreed to comp the food (but I had to ask twice) as I explained that $54.95 per person was not appropriate given the poor quality of the food and experience. I ate a quarter of a waffle and one small piece of chicken. I tried to make the best of it and then waited in line for 15 minutes at the omelet station. At that point we gave up. We did pay for our drinks. We left and had to go elsewhere for a proper Mother's Day meal. It was extremely disappointing!

   This place was not ready for the Mother's Day Buffet. There was a line at the buffet that was totally unacceptable. When you finally made it through the line most of the food items were out or if there was some there it was cold. When we made it to our table it took 30 minutes to get our drinks. For a cost of 59.99 a piece, not including drinks, this was a nightmare.

   Uncle Jacks Tavern Follow Up: Mothers Day Brunch Fail. Curiosity got the best of me and I followed through with my 1:30 pm reservation based on past experiences but soon realized this place is gone further downhill than I thought. Owner and famed chef Willie Degel should take immediate action and course correct. This will be our last time to visit until we see positive and consistent progress. Arrived a few minutes before my Open Table reservation time and was greeted by 4 young ladies who looked frazzled and in need of a lesson in smiling and greeting customers. In fact, that interaction was foretelling of all the employees we encountered, including who I presume was the manager— who I had to ask to resupply the utensils in the buffet line. We were given a menu to be later told that we couldn’t order off the menu as it was only for drinks… so I guess that problem was solved. The server introduced herself and explain it was buffet only and that we would need to pay before joining the buffet line. To clarify, I asked, “so we pay before, correct?” and she said “Yeah, just like at the Golden Corral, all buffets you pay before”. I said “alright then.” and she promptly brought the check. When the check came I was pleased not to see a credit card surcharge, but surprised to see a 20% gratuity added to the check. So far I am thinking, “Oh boy, this is not going well but we’ve committed— let’s see if the disappointment continues...” NO breakfast pastries, NO specially designed Mother's Day pastries, NO oysters (was told they were out but some magically appeared when looking to leave yet they were incredibly small), NO clams, and micro lobster tails that were smaller than the shrimp. Eggs that looked like they belonged at a Hampton Inn breakfast bar, Gravy for biscuits that was confused for mashed potatoes by one guest in line, Dessert pastries and a “cake” that looked like it came from Walmart or Sam’s, and no variety except for what appeared to be some type of

    Definitely won’t do the Mothers Day brunch or any brunch/buffet style event here again, not worth the price! Food was bland, no seasoning, and that struggled keeping the buffet stocked with food! They weren’t on the same page, some staff was saying they ran out of food, while others were saying the food was coming. Overall don’t recommend brunch or and buffet style even they have. On a good note usually the regular menu is good, so if you are going, go for dinner on a regular night!

    Apparently their liquor license was expired. No alcohol was being served. Also, we were there in the early dinner hour and they were already out of a popular menu item . There were hardly any people in the restaurant.

    Food was very good. Service was great. The manager came over and even brought us more sauce to dip our spring rolls in. My husband had the wagyu Salisbury steak which is an incredible portion. I had the truffle Swiss burger. I honestly didn’t taste the truffle or the Swiss. It was all sauce but still delicious. The ranch dressing isn’t great which is always get as a side to my fries. The brownie on the brownie sundae is a little dry but the toppings make up for it.

    Have always enjoyed dining here but tonight we had the worst service ever. My husband even had to go to the bar to order and get his own drink. It would have been understandable if the restaurant had been busy but our waitress only had us and another table. Checking on us was definitely an afterthought. Did find time to sit down and eat her own meal, which I don’t begrudge but at least ask someone to check on us. Will have to rethink a return visit.

    Last night (3/20/23 ) was my wife's birthday and I surprised her.by bringing her to Uncle Jack's Tavern for dinner. We invited my brother and his wife, and our mother. We had a great time our waiter was good and took care of us. We had the Applewood bacon appetizers, AWESOME! Our food was very good and hot even the birthday girl got a free brownie for dessert. It was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience and evening. We will be back.

    No greeter at front table. Was ignored for 5 or more minutes even though servers saw and passed by. Corned beef St. Pat special was subpar. Kudos on having non-alcoholic beer. Waitress was pleasant. Don’t like there being a fee to pay with plastic.

    Ambiance is nice, food was very enjoyable. We felt like our service was not up to par. It’s a nice touch to have the water waiting for you at your table but our waitress never asked if anyone wanted anything to drink other than from the bar. She was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu but when she would come by and we were not quick enough to answer, she was gone. We felt like we were a burden to her.

    A very disappointing experience! 1. $54.95 per person and beverages (tea, soda) not included!!!!! Unacceptable!!! 2. No menu option for kids. Had to pay $24.95 for a 7 year old. 3. No coasters for beverages. My table looked like a swimming pool and the server did nothing about it. 4. Salad was a joke! Looked as if the lettuce was put through a paper shredder. No salad fixins at all! Unbelievable!!! No dressing choices to choose from. Had to ask the server. 5. Mac and cheese was bland and had no seasoning. 6. Chicken tenders were extremely overcooked and very dry! No sauce choices to choose from. Had to ask the server. 7. Very poor decor and presentation. No flowers, no nothing! 8. The serving tongs were extremely oversized for the raw oysters. 9. Same spoon for the drawn butter and horseradish. 10. Music was extremely loud for a Mother’s Day event. The choice of music did not connect for Mother’s Day. 11. No fruit, no cheese, no bagels, no croissants, no muffins. 12. No cooked vegetables!!!! Unbelievable!!!! 13. Had to ask for salt, then the server took the salt to another table! Do you only have 1 salt shaker in the entire restaurant??? 14. 20% gratuity for what??? Total crooks! Overall - I feel I got completely ripped off!!! Never again!!!! Not sure how this place will stay in business.
