We are an authentic Italian wine café, proud to offer quality Sicilian wines and spuntini appetisers across the UK. In the spring of 2013 something extraordinary happened. Two Italian guys in their twenties met in Manchester to find out that they shared a unique passion; they both loved and missed, the Italian Aperitivo, the ritual of drinking, nibbling and relaxing after work. A daily occasion to share moments of happiness with friends and family. By the end of that very same year, Veeno was born: a place where everyone could enjoy great wines and the most authentic Spuntini – platters of meats, cheeses and other appetisers imported from strictly selected Italian producers. Our wines come from Caruso & Minini, our family vineyard back in Sicily where great-grandfather Antonio planted the first vines in the XIX century. Since then, we have been working hard to ensure that our quality and tradition could flow from the bottles to the glass in your hand.

Our signature experience offers 6 wines to taste, all from the family vineyard in Marsala, Sicily. 2 whites, 1 rose, 2 reds, (70 ml each) will be accompanied by Italian meats and cheeses of the highest quality and bruschetta al pomodoro. One of our team members will give an introduction to each wine and explain which appetiser best complements each wine. To finish things off. A glass of sweet wine (25ml) will be perfectly paired with our delicious homemade tiramisu.

When we arrived, there was apparently no booking. The restaurant told us they had a problem with open table. Not a great start. I ordered a pizza, to then be told they didn’t have an ingredient so that pizza was off the menu. Why on earth didn’t you tell be BEFORE I looked at the menu? Service was slow, I ordered a glass of wine to have with my pizza and it arrived after I had eaten. Luckily we weren’t in a hurry!

Our first visit to Veeno, the restaurant staff were very attentive, prompt and polite, we were sat almost immediately (however we requested to move due to being sat by the main entrance door). Drinks and food order was taken shortly after and food arrived promptly. The cheese and meats sharing platter was delicious, ample portion for both. Would recommend this restaurant to other, a good visit.

The service was incredible, helpful, kind, made us feel really special! The food was amazing too, we had the best time, so much so that we went there twice in the day! Absolutely recommend and thank the team again. They were fantastic!

Loved the atmosphere of this cool Italian restaurant. It smelled good when we walked in. We had one of the Italian sharing boards which was really tasty. Our waitress talked us through everything on the plate. Great cocktails and Limoncello margarita is my new favourite! The service was outstanding.

Poor service due to short staffing. My friends was served an alcoholic cocktail when she ordered the non alcoholic version as she doesn’t drink. The drink was replaced with no recognition or apology. Our meals all arrived at different times spaced over 45 mins. I understand that staffing levels are reduced due to covid but there was one chef in the open planned kitchen to serve a full restaurant on a busy Saturday night, poor guy! The cheese board was good but pasta dishes were average and took much longer to come.

Service was very good - staff attentive. Food exactly as ordered and absolutely delicious. I ordered a Limoncello Spritz, but they had run out of Limoncello - the bartender came over and offered an off menu alternative, which was amazing and very thoughtful of her. Location is lovely - quiet area but not too far from transport links. Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable meal and would definitely eat there again.

Excellent wine menu with food. We chose the wine taster menu with 4 wines and food with each. The wines were excellent and the food perfect. Sat outside by the quay. Service was excellent with a very attentive, informative and helpful waiter. Sadly we were on a motorbike tour so couldn’t buy any wine to take home. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is basically one large room, and there was a party that requested the music be turned up. As a result, our experience was not great due to the noise of music and the loud party patrons. Service and food was great, but overall experience was not ideal.

We really like Veeno. The service is brilliant, they recognised my friend’s birthday with a free glass of Prosecco and the food is excellent - what’s not to like!! We go there regularly and would definitely recommend to anyone.
