   Staff was nice but nothing tasted good. Bread was hard, pasta had no flavor at all. I never write reviews but this was just not worth the high bill. I spent over $100 for just myself. Not worth it.

   Cannot recommend. Ordered frisée salad and it came without most of the ingredients. No egg, no bacon. I asked was told they didn’t have eggs. No explanation on why no bacon. I ordered the avocado toast and that was fairly tasteless. Hostess canceled our reservation after we were seated so had to go through explaining to OpenTable I actually made it.

   Loved this place! Went for mother's day brunch and got the eggs benedict which I loved. They were out of the french onion soup, but I'll be back to try!

    This was our first visit to restuarant but , atmosphere was great, waitress was not as attentive, but it was very busy during the brunch hours. Nice variety to choose from but served French not America style so be prepared for a different type of preparation or make sure you are very clear with your orders.

    Awful experience. The food was ok. But our appetizers and dinner came at the same time. We asked for our waitress, Viviana, to figure out why and then she proceeded to ignore our table the rest of the time. We didn’t get help again until we asked for a manager. Who also didn’t really care. Viviana then complained about us to other tables (all 2 times that she actually came to our table) definitely would not recommend and will not be going back.

    This is hands down my family’s favorite restaurant. All of the dishes are amazing, staff are attentive, and the ambiance is perfect. Our favorite dishes are the baked brie, the ratatouille, the chocolate dome, and the lobster salad. That being said, we’ve never had a dish that we didn’t enjoy.

    Had the venteux seafood tower and the steak tartare. The seafood tower had the bells and whistles, but perhaps wasn’t as fresh as it should have been. It was prepared nicely the seafood just didn’t taste fresh. Cocktail sauce was good, I think they put a little onion on it which was unexpected. Steak tartare was under-seasoned, but otherwise good. I’d call it an off day, if the tower was fresher it would’ve been great.

    A fantastic meal, as has always been true for us at Venteux. First time we've done brunch instead of dinner. Great menu for different appetites among our table for 5, from breakfast choices through to oysters and a steak frites. Only "complaint" was that the delicious and theatrical chocolate dome was not available yet since the "brownie" layer was not ready yet. We wish the great caramelo cake we did enyou could have been served in the cherrywood smoke dome to let our visiting friends enjoy the "show". Maybe next time.

    Overpriced for what you get. $46 trout without any sides?! Also the steak was drowned in a pepper sauce that needed to be scraped off in order to eat. The dessert was good and the service was decent. I would definitely not go back.

    I made reservations at Venteux after reading their excellent reviews and seeing that they had east coast oysters. $4 an oyster is a little high but they were amazing. The bottomless Bloody Mary didn’t disappoint, and I enjoyed the duck and waffle. Our server, Viviana was also excellent. I will return to Venteux the next time I’m in Chicago!

    The service was excellent, but the room is very noisy. I ordered the mussels and while well prepared, the variety of mussels used was very poor. Thin and stringy. There would be better items on the menu to order.

    This is a great location on Michigan Avenue. The food, service, and ambiance were spot on. My friend and I went for lunch before a performance at the CSO. It was a perfect choice.

    The service was good. Food wasn't bad, but was not what I expected for the price. I've been to quite a few French restaurants and this was pretty underwhelming. The drinks were also a bit disappointing. Overall I'd say not worth the price point.

    We were a group of 6 looking to dine before our symphony center concert. Venteux is the 1/2 way point between our places and the concert hall. Our waiter was amazing to make sure everything went smoothly including one person’s special dietary restriction. We also got out of the door perfectly in time. All of us enjoyed our entrees a lot. It has been a while since we went last time. I believe the food is even better than before! Highly recommended! The guys in the party loved the steak frite and the 2 ladies loved the salmon in parchment paper. My grilled chicken was simply amazing.

    Yet another fantastic meal — indeed gets better every time we return. This was our first combo of business with friendship at Venteaux. Prior visits has been us two as love birds. Tonight we had business colleague from abroad join us. He had time constraint to eat and then get to an off-Broadway show nearby. We feasted on a dozen each of the four great oysters (2 east coast, 2 West coast — fight amongst yourselves over a bev). Guest enjoyed his pappardelle with short ribs to the point the plate after looked like it came clean out of dishwasher 🤣. Amy enjoyed ragout, though combo with spuds was unexpected. My bouillabaisse was breathtaking. I say that as a guy that lived in Provence. Chef Marcel made the combo of stock and flesh selections I have long been seeking. Wines by the glass paired marvelously! Many thanks to Marcel, Veronica, and Drew!

    The setting was VERY pretty . Well lit . Easy to get to location off Michigan Avenue . Food was okay . Too much sauce on things and our meals were both wrong - ordered no bacon and received bacon on the egg sandwich. Good value on the bottomless mimosa. Service left something to be desired. Could have been better . I would not rush back here with so many other choices.

    Loved our experience at Venteux. The food was incredible and our service from Ella was even better. It was quiet and dimly lit - perfect ambiance for a date night with my husband. The French onion soup was one of the best I’ve ever had. Both of our steaks were cooked a perfect medium rare. Highly recommend!

    We really enjoyed our brunch at Venteux. It is obviously a "happening place" but unpretentious. Really lovely decor and ambience. Food was quite good. Service was top notch. We would return but would love to have dinner next time.

    Birthday brunch for my boyfriend this morning. We had walked by 100 times and it’s always busy, so we thought this would be the perfect opportunity for a reservation. Absolutely incredible! We will definitely be back. The atmosphere is visually stunning and the food all looked like art.

    Service was EXCELLENT! This was the best martini I have EVER HAD! During the busy St. Patrick’s day celebrations we had a relaxing evening in this beautiful restaurant. Our server had great recommendations. He had a wonderful personality that contributed to our fun girls weekend. I hope to make this a regular stop every time I visit Chicago.
