   C’était pour une fête-surprise entre amies. Quel bonne idée. Je recommande tout : le service avec le sourire, l’aide avec le menu, le coin de table choisi pour l’occasion, la délicieuse table du midi à un prix affordable. Quelle belle découverte! Je me promets d’y retourner et d’y amener d’autres de mes connaissances.... et le bistro est tellement facile d’accès à partir de transport public.

   My wife and I absolutely loved our experience! We went there on a Friday night and there was a live band playing jazz. Our waitress, Catherine, made us feel very comfortable. She was very knowledgeable, made us excellent recommendations and guided my wife, very well (she is gluten-free intolerant). The food and wine we had were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to spend a great evening!

   Le jazz est de qualité très variable. J'y suis allée en Janvier, et c'était plutôt bien. Et Samedi dernier, c'était carrément décevant : mauvais jazz, sonorités très agressives, très mauvaise sonorisation .... bref, oreilles écorchées ... pas agréable du tout. C'est dommage ! Mais, ce qui fait la qualité d'un établissement c'est sa régularité. Si c'est une fois bien et une fois mauvais, ça ne donne pas envie d'y retourner.

   Nous avons été très bien accueillis et servis. Les personnes qui se sont occupés de nous étaient adorables! Nota: si vous réservez un brunch, sachez que cela n’est pas disponible avant 11h! Open Table ne le précise pas. Néanmoins, on nous a servi ce à quoi nous nous attendions quand même et c’était très bon! Viennoiseries : excellentes (on est français donc c’est sacré pour nous :p). La tartinade d’avocat et le Classic déjeuner nous ont également convaincus! Bref, nous reviendrons et nous avons déjà conseillé cette adresse à nos amis ;)

   We went here for Valentines Day and we’re served their special menu. This was 2 years ago and we still laugh about it. We left and had to grab a second dinner because the entire 3 course meal was basically an appetizer.

    Their beef was fantastic, amazingly done. The only thing is that if you don't eat pork you'll have to remove the whole sauce of it, but the meat itself was perfect. The Southern drink was excellent (if you like ginger!)

    The highlight of the experience was the ambiance and decor. Verses gets a full score for a classy, rustic, comfortable environment. We sat a little far away from the band, so unfortunately, we couldn't hear the live music as well. The main meal itself was ok, however the starting salad and desert were disappointing.

    Went for brunch, it was tasteful but service was quite slow at the time. Very big restaurant but squeezed in next to another couple dining, so close that when the gentleman dropped his salad, we were sprayed with lettuce and dressing as well.

    We went to this restaurant for brunch. A few negatives: it took us nearly an hour to receive our food (which was just easy brunch). Once it arrived, the food was very lacklustre. For instance, the poached egg was actually a hard-boiled egg (for more than one individual), which is extremely disappointing. Additionally, they refused any egg form other than scrambled for the breakfast plate, which led us to believe that the scrambled eggs are not fresh. Strange that they would deny something as easy as sunny-side-up. The rest of the food was slightly tasteless, aside from the basket of pastries. The waitress was very kind and the table placement we had was comfortable. However, because of the slow service and poor food quality, we would never go back there - for brunch or for supper.

    Dans le cadre du happening gourmand, le menu à 17$ était super. Par contre je ne pense pas que je retournerais en payant le plein prix.

    Expérience très médiocre. Nous étions là pour essayer la table d'hôte pendant Happening Gourmand. Un des choix du menu n'était plus disponible, et au départ il n'y avait pas de choix poulet ou végétarien. En n'ayant pas un des choix, j'ai eu des gnocchis, donc c'était bien. Mais la portion était minuscule. Et que dire de la soupe! Un énorme bol pour la présentation mais seulement 5 petites cuillères de soupe. Le service était généralement très lent. La portion du dessert minuscule. Pour la note totale, très mauvaise valeur pour le prix et expérience médiocre. À éviter!

    Plates were microscopic, they were promoting Happening gourmand, but failed to inform that reduced price resulted in more than reduced portions. Have to find place to eat after that. Promoted live jazz - that was the catch, but if it was somewhere - not in the restaurant. Nice walls though.

    Verses was one of the restaurants that were listed with the Happening Gourmand. I had the Beef Stew, It was excellent, the soup was excellent also. I had no complaints about the dessert either. There was a blues band and that was very nice, certainly worth the money

    Un des meilleurs restaurants du vieux-port à tous les niveaux!! L'attention portée aux détails, que ce soit au niveau du service ou de la nourriture toujours impeccable, est tout simplement parfaite! C'est notre resto coup de coeur :)

    Je suis allée bruncher deux fois au Verses dans la même semaine et j’ai eu des expériences complètement différentes. J’y suis allée la première fois le 2 janvier. La nourriture était excellente et les employées au service étaient avenantes, drôles et efficaces. En revanche, deux jours plus tard, le service et la nourriture laissaient à désirer. Le service à la clientèle de notre serveur n’était pas le meilleur. Il fallait constamment demander aux employés de nous apporter quelque chose (petite fourchette et banc pour les enfants, breuvages oubliés, etc). Ils auraient très bien pu l’offrir d’emblée et, de ce fait, nous éviter d’avoir à constamment les déranger. Ça manquait de professionnalisme et d’attention. Bref, j’ai adoré ma première visite, mais ma deuxième ne me donne pas envie d’y retourner.

    I was there with my family for new years eve. We booked a 4 cours menu. The stuff was really friendly and the food was good. We complained about a steak which was served cold. They changed it for a new one. they always refill the water on the table without any comments. But the stuff couldn't answer my questions about the menu. They had to ask the chef at first. In the end we only got a 3 course menu. I asked our waitress she said oh I am sorry there was a mistake on the website. She didn't offer any compensation. So I decided to speak the supervisor because we expected a 4 course menu. The supervisor said oh yeah you aren't the only persons they notice it.. And in the end the Manager of the restaurant said, yes we gave a few cheese plates to other guests they complained.... so why the others got a compensation but not us? It doesn't has to be something big. But an espresso or something small doesn't cost to much for the restaurant. we were really disappointed about the management

    Food took a long time and arrived overcooked. Service was erratic although our waiter was friendly. Portions on the small side. Nice room but overall something felt out of sync. Maybe as it was 30th of December?
