Vertical Detroit opened its doors in 2015 under the expertise of James Lutfy and Remy Lutfy. Their combined fifty years of wine knowledge, obtained after owning the Fine Wine Source in Livonia, Michigan, studying wines across the globe and simply having an absolute passion for it, gave Vertical Detroit the title of Downtown Detroit’s first high-end, wine-centric restaurant. Vertical Detroit serves as a wine bar/restaurant/retail space in the historic Paradise Valley district of Downtown Detroit. The space gives patrons a luxurious, yet comfortable atmosphere to enjoy quality wine, beer and liquor, paired with small plates, entrées and desserts. The wine bar concentrates on wine flights, specialty cocktails, shareable plates and retail sales. Vertical Detroit has something for everyone; whether you’re downtown for a casual drink, date night, catching up with friends, or stopping in after enjoying a show.

    Great place. Great wait staff. I had the Australian wagyu which was superb. My friend had the Caesar salad. Zero complaints. Highly recommend!!

    This was a great, personal place to take the wife for a date night. Server was very kind and respectful, and he also gave some great suggestions. Not loud at all so I didn’t have to scream to talk and everything we ordered was fabulous!!!!

    The service could have been better. They brought our entrees too early but then took them back, and they came out too late. The unfortunate thing is that we ended up being late for our show at the DSO because of it.

    Our server Iyisha was amazing !!! Personable, attentive, informative and just a joy !! Also, one of the owners, Remi stopped by our table and was extremely delightful and thanked us for coming to Vertical to celebrate our 34th Wedding Anniversary. We absolutely love this restaurant!!!

    Exceptional, attentive service without being overbearing. Phenomenal menu options limited & focused on what the do best. Highly recommend the octopus carpaccio and lamb entree! Pasta and salad was amazing as well.

    Once again, Vertical did not disappoint. The wines alone are worth the visit. The portions are generous enough to share and are all delicious. I highly recommend the mussels, scallops, and pork chop. The pear and blue cheese salad was also a table favorite.

    Amazing! Definitely not what I was expecting for a quick dinner before a concert. Food was to die for and melted in your mouth. Wait staff was exceptional and we’re on top of every move we made. Atmosphere was very relax and comfortable. Not too big of a place which made it very personable. Will definitely be back to enjoy a full dinner experience.

    When greeted at door, we were told we have 2 hours to dine. Atmosphere was nice. Server iesha was very pleasant. Filets were over cooked. Food was over priced for what we received. Won’t be back

    Had Family members that are foodies from Grand Haven visiting for Wings game. Had amazing meal, all 4 of use passed the dishes around trying to decide who had the best - it was a 4 WAY TIE! Remy, Gordon, Theresa and crew are always amazing!! See you there, Chris H

    The Vertical was absolutely amazing. From the ambiance to the food, everything was incredible. My personal favorite was the focaccia bread but the salmon and Tomahawk steak was delicious as well. Would love to come back when we’re in town!

    Great Place. Food is awesome and the chef doesn't disappoint with all his dishes. The only issue is a 12 oz NY A7 steak was 149.00 Not even at Prime and Proper their awesome PorterHouse 32oz steak is that price. Anyway I like there wine list and they have awesome wine list. Service is great.

    A perfect date night/Sweetest Day experience. My love and I are foodies. The scallops were exceptional and the wine selection is beyond amazing. I love that it's in downtown Detroit and we walked to the Detroit Opera House afterwards. A lovely Saturday evening.

    We starred with the grapes which are a fin way to start the meal. We had a salad with Pear and that was as excellent . We then both had the Raised short rib which is an outstanding dish. I had wine Gaby… which was perfect.
