quite disappointed by the food。 service and envoirment is good
over priced for the quality, poor menu, too crowded and confusing
Very expensive for what it is. Over priced and service not exceptional at all. Not really worth it
So crazy person
Food was good. The terrible service took away from the evening. It was at least twenty minutes before he took our drink orders and After that we were ignored til long after our glasses were empty.
We actually had to flag him down to order more. We were planning on ordering a bottle of wine - and mentioned this to him - but he came by so infrequently that we realized we wouldn’t get the wine in time to actually drink it so we opted not to, and he never asked about it. All told it was a 2+ hr dinner that would have been half that if our waiter was waiting on us; instead of just making us wait.
We are a party of 6 ( 2 kds in our group)
Celebrating our granddaughter’s 4th birthday
We have been to this restaurant more than 6 times but usually for dinner and we think the dinner menu is excellent
But we were a bit disappointed with the dim sum yesterday
Underwhelmed by my experience unfortunately - Despite making reservations, we were given a terrible table by the patio door which was open (so we were cold), didn’t get greeted/given water until at least ten minutes after being seated and had our dinner served over an hour and a half after being ordered. We were really excited about the Victor but it turned out to not be what we expected.
In my view we had the best table in the house against the window, place was full and with many from the Rugby 7's so a interesting perhaps noisy crowd plus several large birthday groups but the waiter was top , the service top and a great place to be. Also was staying in the hotel so doesnt get better.
The service was exceptional and the food simply excellent.
I dined on filet mignon, a side of Quebec Foie Gras and Béarnaise sauce. My partner had her filet with scallops, Both were excellent and we were bale to find a good wine to accompany it off their excellent wine list.
Excelente comida, lugar y servicio!! La carne que comí estuvo deliciosa!!
Our server Mitchell was fantastic. When he learned we were celebrating a birthday, he quietly brought my friend a piece of birthday cake with a candle, without us even having to ask for it. Now THAT’S great service!
Great service and experience. Hosts and server were great. Some chairs are uncomfortable and we asked to move which was accommodated!
The Victor at Parq was a great experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone. The food was great and the service was amazing too. The only negatives point were
-Risotto took too long to come to the table
-A dirty Napkin that was being cleaned up landed on my menu.
Overall good experience.
Spectacular meat and seafood in a cool atmosphere with enthusiastic service. Amazing wines by the glass. A great choice if you are not worried about a steep price tag.
The Victor lay claim to being a premiere steak and seafood house, which sets a very high expectation. Ultimately, they were not able to achieve it, only showing glimmers of promise, that faltered as the evening wore on.
Seated promptly, into a half circle booth facing a “service station”, instead of a table in the dining areas, was odd but rewarding in that it dampened the VERY loud noise that surrounded the establishment. This is a lively, youthful crowd, and not a serene, quiet “steakhouse” that lets its food and service speak for it.
The “dress code” may only require diners to be clothed. No need for having your jacket pressed unless you enjoy the same.
The menu is interesting, with an intriguing assortment, and the initial courses, which arrived erratically (a manager arrived to apologize for the delivery of salads, followed by an endless lapse until entrees without ANY comment) were quite striking. The “shrimp tempura” was more of a flash fried appetizer in a sauce with a delightful kick. Despite sushi being offered, DO NOT expect “shrimp tempura”.
The entrees, “filet”, were a particular disappointment, especially for their price. Both ordered “medium well”, one was charred, obviously overcooked. I can only conclude the distracted server heard “well”, and not “ALSO medium well”. Only due to the excessive length of time in delivery, no comment was offered. The delivery was NOT made by the server who attended throughout, leading to more confusion; a horrid misstep.
The additional sides, shrimp scampi and diver scallops, were only disappointing in their quantity, TWO of each, for a considerable up charge.
Another lapse followed, and the check was requested. After the check arrived, a square of “coconut” cake (a house speciality) arrived with a sparkler (it was my birthday), however, there was no accompanying after dinner beverage since it was never offered. Sadly, that made the futile, rote gesture, less than it might have been.
Matthew was the perfect, most patient yet attentive server.
The service and food were both excellent! The server and manager (I think?) were both great and helped to provide a wonderful experience for my friends birthday.
Great service and delicious food. We were given free slice of cake for birthday which was nice experience.
There were a lot of empty seats available we were getting close to closing time we asked for a receipt and were directed twice so nothing but a smaller table. Pay more attention to the timing and see if the people who actually book the reservations are going to come if not then people who are there just move them to where they want to be seated no point in saving reservations when they don’t show up.
The view alone would make this venue a great choice to dine at in the summer. However, the Rib Eye steak was just average at best. The portion on all the appetizers was good for one bite each for two people. The taste & value isn't there at The Victor but the ambience and service are.
We took our 2 adult kids to The Victor for our daughter’s 40th birthday and it couldn’t have been a whole lot better; Rio, our server was very good, attentive but not over bearing. Our appetizers and mains came on time and were hot and delicious. The Lobster Bisque was to die for!
Great choice for special occasions, a bit pricey but worth the experience as a good time was had by all!
Great atmosphere, received the best ever service from Surendra, ask for him on your next seating!
We went in for the supper club special. worth the price! The service was impeccable, the steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare, as we asked for. The salmon was also moist and delicious with a beautiful glaze.
Highly recommend the Victor for a night out.
Family day weekend, we stayed at the hotel with friends and decided to try out the Victor. Amazing burger and delicious sides. They were very busy and a few of the dishes were already sold out. However, we enjoyed everything we ordered and the server was exceptional.
Wonderful food, wonderful service, Matthew was amazing, will definitely come again!
Our server was excellent, the decor and ambience was trendy. The time it took for food to be delivered from ordering to our table was not satisfactory. Over 1 hour for our steaks to arrive. What is more troubling is the table next to us ordered before us and they received their food 20 mins after us. Consistency is key, no one should have to wait over an hour for food in a fine dinning establishment.
I would not recommend this restaurant if you are in a rush or starving and need your food to arrive quickly.
We began our evening with great, attentive service. Unfortunately after the first wine pour and entrees being served we were forgotten about (it did get very busy) We waited a very long time to order a second bottle of wine and ask for the desserts we had ordered and been waiting for. Not the kind of service towards the end of the evening you expect from an upscale dining experience.
Thank again to my favourite person Surendra L who’s alway smiling and help makes my girl friend who is first time visit at Victor, she can’t stop talking how much she enjoy The atmospheres food and the service
I’ll be back again for sure
I knew coming into this restaurant that it is quite fancy, which means a little more pricey. The service was great and the cocktails and food was super yummy. Only thing is I was surprised and disappointed about was paying almost $8 for still tap water.... I mean we are already paying a lot of money for streak and alcoholic beverages. I could've just gone to the sink and fill my glass with water myself and it would be the same. So to people reading this, if you are going to drink something, just get alcohol. Not worth it getting water...
The decor is wonderful. I was surprised to see patrons in torn jeans and ball caps but maybe that is norm for a restaurant in a hotel. The bread was tasty however the steak/filet and mac n cheese were average at best. Portion size was good but I would not return because the keg is far superior and gotham or black and blue are on a completely different level. Note to hostess: when it's a 2/3 empty restaurant don't sit patrons so close to another table until necessary.
I think the vibe and ambience was excellent but food while was not bad but it was not special either but then for the same price you have much better option. We got Steak and sushi and pasta. Also the plates were missing any garnish and it looked as good as a plate i would make at home
Overall i might be back for the ambience but definitely not for the food
