   Everything was great! We had family visiting and wanted to take them out for a nice dinner. The only hiccup was we were asked if we wanted to sit outside or inside, so we said outside as it was a nice night, then were offered a booth. We said yes because some restaurants have booths outside, but we were taken into the middle of the restaurant, away from the windows and outdoor section to a half booth. Not a big deal as our server was great and the food was delicious, but there was a communication error. Still would recommend The Victor to friends and family.

   We went there for appetizers and dessert. Took some friends from out of town and a terrible experience. So disappointed ☹️ California roll tasted worse than grocery store sushi, dessert wasn’t all that. Save on foods has better cakes. Service was terrible and slow too. Waiters were nice and tried, it was slow. Never going again, embarrassed to have taken friends from out of town there. Told them this is not a representation of the Vancouver food scene.. sigh

   This is a restaurant that is clearly struggling with post pandemic hiring as service is definitely below the standard of a fine dining establishment. After drinks were ordered and served in bar, we never saw our server again even though we would have liked to order another round. Bar was not busy at all with other customers. Similar lack of attention in dining room.

   Came into the restaurant celebrating my wife and I's wedding anniversary. We were welcomed by Craig who congratulated to us both. Another gentleman named Sarendra came to serve us and provided a warm welcome. Craig was very knowledgeable in helping choose the best wine for my main dish as I enjoyed it very much. After finishing our meal, Sarendra surprised us with a special dessert with a congratulatory message on our plate to finish off our dining experience. Was my first time dining at The Victor. The staff and the food were the right combination for delicious dinner and dining experience. I would definitely go back without a doubt.

    Don't know what the hosts problem was. I made a reso for my bday for two people. I shared it was my bday and the host said ok take a seat. Meanwhile 2-3 other couples were seated right away. I thought maybe they are putting us in a nice booth for my bday. After awhile, the host asked one of the other service staff to take us outside to sit in the corner of a loud outdoor party. I asked if we can sit indoors and she said "fine, sit by the door then". I was SO APPALLED. That is what we waited for? There were many other tables available and open. I had to request to sit in a booth that was no more than 4 meters away. I don't know what her name was, but if I was the restaurant owner, I'd fire her.

    We had been wanting to try this place given the many recommendations we heard. Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. Our server seemed to forget us multiple times (I.e. the promise of another bread unfulfilled, the mocktail menu forgotten, the anniversary surprise also forgotten). The steaks were underwhelming compared to other steak places we tried.

    Fries were too salty and stuffed salmon was over cooked. Oysters were nice, croquettes were mid and messy, beet salad was amazing, the fois gras will still be my number one ticket to hell.

    From the time we walked in to when we left, the experience was top notch. I took my mother and boy was she impressed . Ordered the seafood tower. Very good. Only criticism was it was a little small for two but then it is an appetizer. Personal preference only. Surendra our server was the most attentive friendly and extremely professional. He made my mothers first time there very much something she will remember for the rest of her life . They need to have more people like surendra working there as he is exactly what they need . He personifies everything a high end restaurant is and reflects everything that is the victor . Please promote this man . The food was amazing , and the time limit was proper . The cake at the end was a nice surprise , once again surendra was extremely nice and professional. Thank you

    Waiters are nice. Just that I requested for indoor sofa table and they put us in the patio with lots of sun and heat. And they just gave us a random table so we asked to switch to a better table with less sun. Again table arrange and reservation is not the best experience since day 1. The receptionist again seems don’t care about our experience. Very passive and have to chase around them to switch table. Last time they even silently cancelled our table for no reason. But all waiters and waitresses are nice. Food is ok. The ceaser salad is like a kid size.

    The food was fantastic and our server was excellent. The experience was only slightly marred due to an event taking place outside in the courtyard and the music they were playing was loud enough that I had difficulty hearing conversation. It also clashed with the live musician inside the restaurant so it felt very noisy. Clearly no fault of the restaurant itself. The friendliness and helpfulness of our server elevated our experience above these minor things.

    We went on a Tuesday and sat at the bar. The bartenders are so lovely, we ended up having dinner at the bar. The live band was awesome, made our evening great. The staff are super professional yet friendly and the food was delicious.

    The ambiance and setting is beautiful. The hostess, servers & bussers were pleasant & tried to do a good job. I suspect that the server had too many tables or was under staffed. The food was average & not the quality I expected for the caliber of restaurant. Beet salad - beets too large and a bit over cooked & swimming in dressing Salmon Oshi Aburi - likely a bit over seared or warm; not like when I have it at Miku Steak Diane - nicely done; carrots over cooked & mash potatoes... looked plastic. I think they left the plate under the warmer too long. Salmon Steak - over cooked. I think they left the plate under the warmer too long. Runners & bussers tried their best, but must have been in training & didn't know the correct table numbers or the Server must have put the wrong table number in the order. Unfortunate for a higher caliber restaurant. The food quality, preparation & service was comparable to Cactus Club & Earls.

    Absolutely impeccable service. The waiter was friendly and not overbearing. Service was fast and attentive. The quality of steaks was excellent and we ordered our steaks rare and they came back perfectly rare. It’s cliche but in this case when you get what you pay for and what you get aligns with the price point it’s a pleasant surprise. Obviously not a daily dining spot but a wonderful place to come with clients or for special occasions.

    The Atmosphere was amazing. Wonderful service. Food was OK. The menu has lots of options. We selected the Rib Cap which was recommended. We also ordered lobster. I needed sauce “peppercorn”. Prices aren’t overwhelming but we did expect better quality.
