The Service was Terrible! The server was NOT willing to give adequate service!! He was Hardly there ... When we asked our server to correct an incorrectly made drink "he took personally"!! The Steak was not made as instructed but I was too afraid to send back.
My best friend and I went for dineout together here and I was very disappointed with my entire experience. Service was slower than i could ever imagine! Found ourselves asking for the same things over and over only having our waiter constantly forget. Food took ages to arrive at the table. Dineout menu and food quality could really improve and do better in my opinion. I don’t plan on revisiting. The hostess was great though, found us amazing seats with a great view that’s honestly my only real good memory of my whole time dining here.
Beautiful ambiance and delicious food. Well cooked and perfect Temperature. The service was perfect and very alert. Very kind server also. My fav dish is the prawn tempura, so delicious. I recommend this quiet upscale restaurant for everyone.
Would have been much better if we didn’t get the off the menu porterhouse add on for our Dine Out Vancouver dinner - it wasn’t very good at all, oily filet and striploin, tasted bad and couldn’t finish it. Servers should never ever make lousy upgrade recommendations.
Our previous visit to The Victor was ten times better.
The food and ambience was great. The only downside is the server double billed us. It took a very long time to rectify the issue. After they voided the transaction and rebilled us, they did not offer any compensation.
We went there for dine out vancouver menu. The appetizer I chose the veggie one is so delicious! If u like the smokey flavor, you will love their steak. For the dessert the chocolate mousse cake will be better than the donut dish. I think the dine out menu is very valuable.
Was going to do dine-out but got talked into doing the Porterhouse. What a great decision - steak was so delicious. Highly recommend if you want tasty food.
We have been here three times and all three times our steaks have been over cooked. Great sushi and cocktails but will not be going back for steak anytime soon.
too packed during the covid, no partition between table
very load people at the bar, yelling, talking loudly, making out with other people they met there, going for smoke repeatedly and smoking on the patio right in front of the window side tables, tossing the cigarette butt into the pond and spitting on the floor in front of the entrance. very trashy, COVID unsafe and unpleasant vibe. definitely would not recommend. brought it up to the mangers attention and he said they are going for a "vibrant and energetic" vibe, whatever that meant.
Fantastic for a done out experience. One of the best I've been to so far.
Even better during regular service.
Excellent place for dinner. Amazing restaurant and atmosphere and the food is amazing. Highly recommend.
The Dining Experience I went for was the Dineout Menu
1) The Quebec Foie Gras was perfectly scored and crisped on the outside with a rich melt in your mouth center. The accompaniments of the slightly sweet and tart fig jam along with the minus 8 reduction provided the perfect acidity to balance the fatty ness of the Foie Gras.
2) The Steak Frites with 8oz ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare. The star was somehow the triple cooked fries as they were satisfyingly crunchy on the outside yet soft and fluffy on the inside. The arugula salad was a tame addition to the plate but was supposedly meant not to distract from the flavour of the steak.
3) CRÈME BRULEE DONUTS: The presentation was delightful as there was cotton candy dusted with gold flakes above the creme brûlée donuts. The flavour of the doughnuts was nice although I wish there was more cream inside and the caramelized outside of the doughnuts could have been torched a bit to add the smoky bitterness of actual creme brûlée.
Food was excellent for Dine Out. Felt safe
Great service our server Rio M was very attentive. My husband steak was not cooked properly. The manager came and made sure it was done correctly after. They really tried to make us feel special.
No doubt that both food and service were excellent !
The background music was a bit too loud.
Pleased to know that their WIFI , finally , is functioning now.
Japanese food served in this restaurant is highly recommendable, fresh and of best quality always.
Very efficient staff and remarkable team work spirit.
Parking fee is a little too costly ; restaurant should consider a reduced parking rate for diners in the restaurant. Or the restaurant even consider waive the first two hours parking fee for the diners. I am positive if this practice is in place, it will absolutely attract more customers to dine at the restaurant.
I celebrated my birthday here and it’s amazing😍
We had a good experience as it was our first time. The staff were accommodating especially we had a big group. We're very satisfied with Dario's service. Looking forward for next time. Thank you!
Came here for Valentine's day, amazing evening at the Victor! Definitely our go to restaurant for events or a nice night out. So happy they're finally open again. Creme brulee donuts and onion rings are a must for everyone!
10/10 recommend!! Matthew was an amazing server! :)
Top notch food and service, we’ll be back.
Great experience. Server for the most part was very attentive. Would go back as it is a very unique and fine-dining experience.
This was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had living in Vancouver . Christian was our server and he was outstanding and I will definitely be back. The food was amazing , drinks were great, amazing wine selection but the service was phenomenal.
Food was mediocre. Service was horrible they forgot our spoons for the soup and by the time we reminded them our soup got cold. Went without a water refill for over 20 minutes. Been at many fine dining restaurants our experience at the victor was not good.
Overall we had an outstanding meal, the food was fantastic but our service missed the mark a little bit. Our drinks were forgotten for the first 30 minutes and I missed the pairing with my first course. We were served by 3-4 separate staff members ( busy Saturday evening) which I think may have caused some confusion in communication. I will definitely return. I would also recommend to be seated alternatively not next to the wine dispenser which interfered with the ambiance because it was a busy two foot pathway that many patrons and staff took/ congregated around.
This is a great restaurant but their Dineout experience does not do them justice.
Amazing service! Greeted and directed to our table very nicely. Matthew, our server was very attentive and very helpful, non intrusive, and had a great attitude. Ambiance was top notch. Great views of the city and of BC place. Food quality was top notch.
The service was good but some things could’ve made it better. We wanted more bread but we didn’t get it and wasn’t told when we were seated that we had to be out of the restaurant by 11pm sharp so we had to get our desserts for take out.
The cocktails were way too expensive... should be half the price for what you are getting.
The lobster bisque was salty. The music was way too loud.
Service was too slow even though the restaurant was quite.
Everything was fine, the taste was better, and we had an unforgettable Chinese year！
DOV menu was excellent value. Steaks were done to perfection. The servers made sure we were well looked after.
Richard was very attentive and took great care of us. Thank you!
Have been here a few times now never disappointed, the food and service is excellent. Bridget has been our server our last 3 visits, she ticks all our boxes. Happy customer.
Food was salty
Some add ons are not worth it
Server that night was mediocre
Must get: Mac and cheese waffles and lobster bisque
Nice restaurant to go for a date, celebration, or a nice event
The whole experience was phenomenal, from food to the impeccable service received! Our waiter Ken went above and beyond! The Victor (and Ken) made our anniversary spectacular! The food was top notch!
Excellent food and service. Matthew was our server and his service was excellent! We highly recommend!
Food, service and location make up for a special evening, an experience that really stands out. I would recommend the restaurant makes an arrangement for free parking for its guests.
Delicious, high quality food. Highlights: free cheese and onion bread to start, the dried chick peas in the Caesar salad, the macaroni and cheese waffle with cheese sauce, and the flavorful steaks (Cowboy ribeye).
