The first restaurant in Western Springs to serve liquor since prohibition, Vie offers guests the opportunity to experience urban fine dining in a warm, relaxed village setting. Conveniently located steps from the Metra station, Vie attracts food-conscious diners from the entire Chicagoland area. Guests will find sanctuary in the intimate, gracious dining room housed in a two-story red brick building in the center of Norman Rockwell’s Americana. The best meal I have ever had in the United States. Worth the drive, worth the price, and absolutely the most delicious food ever. Sublime! Chef Virant is a genius and I would dine here weekly if it were more convenient. Probably best that it isn't or I would weigh 500 pounds and be broke!

Very good food but very small portions. Also very expensive. We go there for their Burbon Manhattans which are made from a rendered down bock beer base. Try one, you won't be sorry.

My family and I met at Vie's for a family get together. My mother is in a wheel chair and uses a walker. Vie staff were very helpful and supportive of her. The food was delicious. Everyone found something excellent to eat. Vie is a fabulous choice for good food and service.

Great service and gorgeous restaurant. Has a city feel but larger space. The corn and blueberry app was my fav of the meal. My white fish dish lacked overall cleverness, it was just fish with beans and rice. My husband did the pork combo which was good and clever. I could have done without the entry bite to the start of the meal. The crepe cake was awesome and the jelly finisher was yummy. The bread was also very good.

Though excited to join friends for a mutually convenient suburban location, we walked away from our first dining experience as nice but wasn't impressed with Vie based on reviews and expectations. The service was fine and the staff never made us feel rushed. It was relaxing and enjoyable from that perspective. We definitely felt the value for the $$$ wasn't worth it. The entree selection was limited and definitely overpriced....disappointing.

Unique and wonderful menu made to perfection in an atmosphere that is not overly pretentious like other fine dining establishments in Chicago. The wine list, presentation, and richness of flavor on the menu is a fantastic adventure in dining that rivals Les Nomades and Everest. In fact, having been to all 3 restaurants, I prefer Vie. This is truly a hidden gem of fine dining experience that is reasonably priced and operated with sincere care. The owner/chef has made a wonderful fine dining experience in the burbs, entirely possible! Thank you!

Our evening started with a friendly greeting of the host and banter with fun & engaging bartender Patrick . We tried many dishes, all quite local, thoughtful and interesting- "Very Vie" with pickled accents and vibrant colors. I found it to be a true value to share plates. Chef Paul came out to say hello which was a treat. . Looking forward to returning again soon!

My happy place. Downtown eating in the burbs. When stressed, my husband and I go here for something special. No other restaurant in burbs like it. Midwestern ingredients spun in unusual ways.

It was our first time at Vie this past weekend. The pre-fix courses were absolutely delicious, very reasonably priced and portions well beyond what you'd expect for a pre set menu. Definitely will be back soon!

The service was welcoming and gracious. This attentiveness did not change when I expressed some disappointment and regret about my first course--not having made a knowledgable selection regarding the ingredients of that dish though they had been aptly listed. (I expected potato gnocchi though it had stated 'semolina.) Without hesitation our server whisked it away though it had been my ordering error and replaced it with a wonderful and tasty lamb sausage dish on a delectable crunchy sourdough pecan toast. This was followed by a main of wood-grilled sturgeon with grilled corn and unbelievably tangy rich sauce, with a whipped parsnip addition. A fantastic dish which left no room for dessert Go for a lovely meal and evening

We entertained out of country company who we have not seen in over 3 years. They have always wanted to dine at Vie so I hastily made a reservation and we were all thrilled. We told them how great the food was as well as a great place to hold a conversation. Lots of catching up to do. Not less than 5 minutes after seating, the shrill of a baby crying and screaming at the table in front of us left all of us on edge. Who would bring an 8 month old baby to a fine dinning establishment. We had to endear this shrill for over 1 1/2 hours. The couple soon realized that everyone in the room was very ticked. Grandma tried in vane to calm and walk the baby but the damage was already done to all of our moods.

Amazing ambiance, high end with welcoming casual neighborhood vibe. The food is incredible in its combinations of farm to table yet extremely reasonable. Ranked 34 out of Chicago's top 50 restaurants. This is a gem in a local neighborhood setting. Our go to place for special occasions.

Wine by the glass isn't very varied. I had a pinot, cab and Bordeaux (trying to find something good) and they all basically tasted the same. The room we were in was FREEZING...and our server was just okay. The staff in any of their rooms tend to stand around a lot. Everyone at our table got a steak knife except me...but i was the only one having steak! The food makes up for all of this, but it definitely makes the overall fine dining experience less than it should be
