Service war etwas behäbig.
Great meal and service. Enjoyed the patio dining very much.
L'entrée étais bien, saumon étais délicieux...
Je suis satisfait quoi.
The food was great and prices reasonable. Staff was extremely friendly and catering to our group.
The terrace is beautiful and the service (Merci, Pierre-Luc) was excellent. The kitchen made a special meal (not on the menu) for a friend with a severe allergy.
Seven friends got together for an entire evening of pleasant conversation enjoying the ambiance and good food.
Service could have been a tad better but overall very good
We had a table in the outdoor terrace and the ambiance was amazing. The food was delicious and expertly prepared. The service was fast and the server knowledgable and friendly. I would highly recommend for special occasions.
Dinner at vieux Port and cruise along with fireworks. Fantastic evening
Super!!
Girl time!! All in all very nice!!
We had lunch at Vieux Porte Steakhouse and it was excellent! We ate on the garden terrace which was such a lovely environment to enjoy a meal on a warm summer day. My husband had hangar steak which was cooked just to his liking and served with a tasty jus, and I had the salmon which was also cooked just as I asked. My only complaint is that I would have like the arugula salad with the salmon filet, but they were not willing to do that for me. All was well in the end and we enjoyed our lunch very much and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal.
A restaurant still owned by the famed Greek developers who originally opened it, which makes it even more disgraceful. The food was worse than mediocre and the eating areas filthy. A waiter told us it was the same in the kitchen and that the cook was consistently terrible. The owners’ staff at one of their many hotels recommended it, which makes it even worse. Someone call the Health Department!
Beautiful restaurant with great ambience this is the real deal not a tourist trap
First time at this restaurant and the food was good, the meat very juicy and flavour We will definitely go back.
Very accommodating with consideration of our time constraints. Kept up informed about meal arrival time. Great experience
Dinner with 6 friends.
I have ordered a french onion soup and a sirloin steak (from Quebec).
The soup tasted like it came straight from a Campbell soup can, (no exageration).
After an hour of waiting I have received my steak.
Well cooked, good tasting but cold.
The food was OK to blah. Considering the price is on the high end the taste of the food did not met the expectation. The mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables were room temperature to cold. The steak was on the bland side and was also room temperature. I would have thought it was at least warm. I would expect more for a $58 porter house steak. Wolfgang and Peter Luger are priced the same but they taste way better.
Absolutley wonderful experience. Prices were reasonable, service was incredible. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.
Delicious filet mignon and side vegetables prepared very well. Ate on the terrace. Great ambience right in the heart of Old Montreal.
A great Montreal experience. A great dining experiences. Got to enjoy an amazing steak dinner without the stuffiness and pretentiousness of many “traditional” steakhouses.
The waitress was very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Lobster bisque was tasty and not peppery. My bone-in ribeye was cooked perfectly medium-rare as requested. You can tell the kitchen let it rest as it was juicy without running all over. Garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and tasty. The fresh veggies on the side cooked just right. The chocolate mousse cake to finish off was decadent.
Great wine selections- many by the glass.
For a great steak place, the prices were reasonable as well.
We had a great time at the Vieux-Port Steakhouse. Ambiance is nice, food was excellent. The place is very large and in a fantastic location in Old Montreal.
very bad service. we had to waot 40 minutes for starters.
We are visiting Montreal and this was our first time to Vieux-Port Steakhouse. It was a wonderful experience rom start to finish .
This is my mother’s favorite brunch restaurant. Always plenty of options and everything is fresh. Staff is courteous and friendly. Try it; you’ll love it.
Great Brunch, large variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner choices. Desserts were varied and great. Fruits, veggies and salads were all crisp and fresh.
Service was great.. friendly and accommodating. Sunday brunch was Very busy with two large groups (a wedding and a graduation ) so the buffet was packed! Variety was ok... was expecting more for the price. Most dishes were cold, Scrabble eggs were disappointing. Omelette and craving stations were excellent! The two supervising these stations were exceptional!
We had a very nice meal, the food was tasty and the service was attentive and polite.
Being this was a steakhouse we both had beef dishes.........while it wasn't the most tender steak I've had, it was a very flavorful steak. We also had the escargot for an appy and they were delicious!
Our last night in the city we ate here at Vieux-Port. Another very popular steakhouse was recommended to us and we weren’t impressed by the menu when we viewed it online and liked the menu at VP better. We were VERY happy with our decision. It was delicious and very reasonably priced. I won’t get a steak like that in the states for that price, and quality. It was delicious! We all left with full happy bellies. The staff were pleasant also (with the exception of one hostess and her eye roll while we were checking in for our reservation.)
Food was fantastic. Main server could’ve been just a bit friendlier at the beginning but he was fine towards the end. Other servers were great though. Best lobster linguine I’ve had in awhile - fresh lobster makes all the difference! Added the fresh lobster tail to it too and well worth the price. Steak was superb, very tender and juicy. Great location being at the heart of vieux Montreal. Got a seat right by a window to top it off. Will definitely come back.
Delicious steak cooked to perfection. Friendly and attentive staff and very prompt service.
We had lunch on the terrace. Had the lobster bisque and beef carpaccio as appetizers then had the filet mignon cooked to perfection. The vegetables were a not warm. The apple crumble was excellent as were the cappuccinos. The terrace has been renovated and is a very enjoyable place to enjoy the meal
Excellent Steak! It is expensive, but if you are a steak lover it's worth it!!
Very special Old Town Montreal restaurant with fabulous location, old bare brick walls & wooden floors, and a wonderful first floor corner alcove street view where our romantic table was nestled. Wonderful friendly service and romantic dinner experience. Great food & wine at reasonable prices. We had the flavourful filet mignon steak and lobster linguine including an extra lobster tail. And there was lively street entertainment down the artistic Saint-Paul street. Thanks for the very enjoyable time.
Great service. Ask the food was very good. The ribeye that was ordered medium was a bit overcooked though (more like medium-well). Other than that, everything was delicious.
The hostess was terribly rude. She was not going to give us indoor seating even though we had a reservation and there were a number of open tables indoors. Don’t think she liked Americans at all. Finally an older gentleman/owner (maybe) asked my wife what she was waiting for, when she explained she was waiting for an indoor table he immediately sat us. The rest of the experience was top notch. Food was fabulous. Our waitress was excellent and took great care of us on this Father’s Day occasion. A shame the hostess was so horrible.
