Everything was cooked to perfection. The salmon was excellent and the accompanying squash was best we have eaten.
Steak was grilled nicely and tender, liked the grilled asparagus and half baked potato too.
Seafood fettuccini was very tasty and the mussels cooked perfectly.
Chorizo meatball appie was also delicious.
Finished with lemon meringue partida which tastes as good as it looks. Real lemon flavor.
Service was great and drinks reasonable-try the Winter Mule.
We were there 2 days prior to Covid closures so we will have to wait a bit to return. our first visit but definitely not our last.

I was starving from a long day of work and my wife hadn’t seen me for days so I ate, exchanged pleasantries and paid the bill.

But let’s be honest. Your entree recipes taste like they were written by children and carried out my line cooks @ McDonalds.

Service was good & willing.

Drinks were okay.

Decor was cheap and ideas were very poorly executed.

I had high hopes at first due to location.

To reiterate; our server was good...

The rest of the experience was completely lacklustre.

Incredible food, fantastic staff. The quality of the food vs the price was insane. Usually, food that fresh, well prepared and in such large portions would cost quite a bit. I had the crab ravioli and my wife had the seafood fettuccine. The fish fell apart in our mouths, the pasta was handmade and cooked perfectly, flavours were so good, we didn't speak to each other until we were done eating. We couldn't. We were too busy savouring every delicious bite.

Service was amazing. Food was excellent. The baked Brie, the bruschetta, the seafood fettuccine, crab ravioli were the best out of all the dishes ordered.
Or server was fantastic, she made sure all our drinks were full and answered all questions we had.

We had an out standing meal! The pasta was clearly homemade and cooked perfectly. Started with appetizers and the perfect lemon gin cocktail. An incredible meal, we will be back!

Food was awesome and was a great place for a lunch meeting. Head chief was personable and friendly and even served our table. Great experience and can’t wait to go back

Went here for a date with my boyfriend. It was very modern and clean. The wait staff were professional and the food was great! Get the garlic prawns!

Good variety on the menu. Service was friendly and efficient. Fettuccine and the short rib were both awesome. The prawn starter was excellent. We will definitely return!

Overall happy with the meal/dining experience. We had a great server (Kyle) who knew the menu very well. We ordered the Short Rib Ravioli and Seafood Linguine. Short Rib was fantastic but the Seafood Linguini was a bit bland and the sauce was very watery. Overall a good meal.

My first visit but definitely not my last. Such a great gem!!! Can’t wait to try their brunch.

I've enjoyed multiple visits to Villa this summer. The patio is great for COVID safe visits with friends.

Amazing service and atmosphere at Villa. We enjoyed coffees with Portuguese creme liqueur followed by their delicious house salad and steak sandwich. They have a dog friendly patio with heaters and a lovely view of historical YEG buildings, some river valley, and large established trees. Our server went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and tended to, and she made special effort to get to know us and connect. I cannot recommend Villa Bistro enough and we are excited to return to try more dishes, especially the desserts!

Whole experience was very good. Would recommend this eatery to anyone wanting a nice quiet evening where you can converse without loud music or loud patrons.

Everything was excellent. The restaurant staff were taking great precautions and sanitizing during COVID.

The food was again excellent, but our server, while friendly and obliging enough, made some serious mistakes (forgetting to order our salads) but he is young and can improve.
The wine list could stand to be upgraded with some more substantial Italian reds added.

Service was amazing! Loved the server we had. Food was cooked perfectly but definitely needed more seasoning to really push it to the top.

When I ordered the salmon I was not impressed. The salmon was described as "pan seared" so I expected it to be "seared". The salmon was soggy and there was so much quinoa underneath that I could not even taste the vegetables or even see them. I was EXTREMELY disappointed and I would not order it again.

my steak was done to perfection! ... we were there early and there were only a few tables occupied inside and a couple on the patio

This is a great patio as the view is nice and the glass helps keep the wind down.

The service is very good. Happy hours is a bonus and we enjoyed the food again.

Have been to Villa several times since it's opening in the new location and have not been disappointed. The food, service and ambiance are great both inside and on the patio. The entire menu including beverages we found well priced. Decent wine selection for those who enjoy a glass or bottle with their meal. It's a neighbourhood gem for sure and worth a drive for great food and atmosphere.

This dining location has had quite a few changes in name and ownership. So Villa Bistro proceeds from a disadvantage in terms of the public's perception of the location. Service was uneven and inattentive, reflecting a need for more attention to things in the front of house. Investing in well-trained, professional wait staff pays off every time. This is not the place to cut corners. Now, about the food. The menu is varied. Unfortunately, so were the results from the kitchen. The pasta was very good: toothsome tortellini with unctuous, shredded short ribs on top. Yum! But we would not recommend either of the two appetizers we chose. One was a shrimp flatbread that had a mix of bad textures: flat bread with a hard, unyielding texture, and jiggly, under-cooked, under-seasoned shrimp. Then came lamb chops, accompanied by a puzzling, herbaceous sauce that was strangely bitter, bordering on acrid. That was a shame because the chops were well cooked - not presented to us hot, temperature-wise, as lamb should be, but at least they were tender. Was the dining experience terrible? No. That said, we will definitely look around before we try again.
