The endive salad was excellent...unfortunately the duck was not as excellent as I remembered it. It was floating in oil. The Château is a place we know well since we were married there in 2011 and we celebrated our birthdays with the whole family. Maybe it was an off night a Tuesday. We will still be coming for other events
Terrible food.we had a table for 10.took 31/2 hours to serve old mediocre tasteless crap.they did that to make sure you order more over priced wine.we were seated in a cold corner away from live music.
Terrible time called the manager.he gave us 2 bottles of wine.we got sick from the food.thry still wanted us to pay the $800 tab.i paid as I did not want to make a scene.the manager again come to our room to apologise for the garbage we ate
Terrible experience.I came to celebrate my wife's 65 birthday with my kids. The service was very slow.it took almost 4 hours to serve us.and the food was mediocre to bad.the worst food I ever had.pure garbage.we complained and the manager offered us 2 bottles of cheap tasting wine.it gave me a migrane headache.they charged us $850 for 9 adults for the worst meal we ever had.the manager again to our room at the hotel to apologize for the bad food and service but still wanted to get paid. I did not make a scene but will complain to MasterCard.
Avoid this place like covid-19
Was there for their Sunday brunch. Location was beautiful (lighting a bit too bright but still very nice) and the food was excellent, but the service was definitely sub-par: while this is a self-service brunch, the servers did not come around with any regularity to see if our table needed refills on coffee and drinks, and while they advertise the brunch as ending at 2:30 pm, they started clearing the food before 2:00 pm. Moreover, they removed the serving utensils first, so when my wife went to make herself a plate of the main dishes she asked a server if she could get some serving utensils and was basically told tough-luck we already took them away. Even though almost all of the food was still laid-out, we were not allowed to have any. Wasn't asking them to go back in the kitchen and bring back dishes that were already removed, but simply to get a few serving utensils. So for my wife, we ended up paying over $60 to essentially have a salad as a starter. If you want to be a fine-dining venue, you need to understand proper customer service, and when we went, they were definitely wanting in that respect.
Very fancy and nice restaurant, waiters were very friendly, and filet mignon I had was excellent
Probably the best coffee I've ever had
Fête de ma femme
Friendly service could not be beat.
My recommendations are for the Beef Carpaccio as a starter and the Paremesian Fries with Summer Truffle Mayonnaise as a side.
The wine we ordered was out of stock. This happens. But when we oredered some crêpes suzette for dessert, we were told that there was none left either. I thought that the Villa D’Este was a good restaurant so I expected more diligence. The menu is not that elaborate, so in my opinion, everything should be perfect and at the very least, available
Waiter was not up to par for the price we paid. Example: opened a bottle of wine and left it on the table. 6 guests and took drink order of only 4. Bartender told us she wanted to go home. This on a bill of over $1000.
Beautiful for Christmas on the water front with Christmas lights, excellent service.
First time but hopefully not the last. Beautiful atmosphere, phenomenal service. We were a group of 6 and other than the pasta lacking a bit of sauce, everything was fabulous. I’d strongly recommend the black cod and lamb chops.
We liked the food and the service. Our table was next to an exit door for the patio. People were going in and out thru that door and every time we were hit with a cold draft which was distracting and annoying. There is another door at the end of the corridor which people could use to get outside instead of walking thru the dining room. Either post a sign not to use that door during brunch or do not place a table near it
A very special brunch for my family to celebrate hubby turning 65! I want to go back for my birthday too, even if it is not a milestone :)
Excellent food and service. A memorable day !
Aucune ambiance
The ambience has always been wonderful as the views are beautiful. The portions are small and an accompaniment side vegetable is extra. Service is dependent on how many weddings the venue is hosting that day so can be spotty.
Disappointing new menu . The lake view with it’s fountains is always a treat. We were seated next to a large loud Groupe and could barely have a conversation. When reservation state out on a date a poor choice by the maître D!
5 STAR EXPERIENCE! We have celebrated a few milestones at CV: 40th, 50th & 60th bdays, wedding, 25th anniversary, corporate galas, etc. We were celebrating two birthdays on August 4, 2019 and the venue was spectacular!! The entire Villa d'Este staff, from hostess, maitre D, our waiter, and support staff on the garden grounds, were very attentive, friendly and professional. The buffet and dessert, delicious with plenty of choices. Definitely looking forward to returning for Sunday brunch!
Advertising itself as a 5 star Hotel/Restuarnt is misleading at best. Staff is friendly and doing their best however as one server explained we are a factory, our home made is "home made ish" we have over 200 weddings a season (summer). There is potential in the Hotel/Restuarant however not there yet ... needs much work
While the food is delicious and the view is beautiful, i have to say that the guy singing and playing on the keyboard is very distracting. We were a party of 4 and had a hard time carrying on a conversation. I felt like i was at a wedding sitting next to the speaker.
i'd recommend this place only if you can sit outside away from the music.
Too much noise.... Generally too expansive for the quality and presentation of the main course, specially the profit ratio for the wine... much over 3 times the cost.
Terrible service . Grilled vegetables was 1 slice of red pepper !!! Terrible food and service for the prices . Quality and service has gone way down .
Very disappointed with my experience at the restaurant for dinner. The waitress was clueless about the menu and brought us the wrong order. Moreover, the service was incredibly slow with mediocre food. Overall, I would not recommend Villa d'esme for more than their brunch, which is exceptional.
Service was terrible. Food was soso. Had the sea bass. I was expecting more food on my plate for 50$ three bites of the bass and two asparagus and one small carrot and a swipe of mashed potatoes. Not worth 50$. Our total bill was 265$ with wine.
My wife had the beef bouginon. Not worth it and the service was sub par at best. The nice girl that was serving was new and she was great. The other guy, well not so much.
Food diversity and quality was not up to the standard we have been accustomed to in the past. More fresh green vegetables and less fried items would have been appreciated. The desert section was perfect as always.
Magnifique. Superbe brunch de la fête des mères. Beauté.
Service was impeccable - thanks to Gabriel who looked after us so well
We made a reservation for our extended family,
Including little kids, for an Easter dinner this past weekend. We could not have been more impressed - the service was outstanding, the food divine and the live music and dance floor was perfect to let the wee ones burn off some of their excess energy. We will definitely return. A hidden gem that we should have visited for our large family gatherings a long time ago - but we will now!
Great evening of dinner and dancing to a live band.
Jean-Pierre served us with the best service and attention. Lovely brunch!
