Pizzeria Villaggio has been run by the Palladino family since opening in 1986. Sadly my enjoyment of my meal was spoilt by finding a piece of hard plastic on my meal which I found by almost choking on it. The waitress took the meal away and replaced it but by then my friends had finished their meal. They did take it off the bill. So they couldn't really have done anything more....was just sad as usually have such a great time and love the food.

Never before have I been offered a sample from the menu, as I was wary of spices! The food I chose was absolutely delicious. Good personal and friendly service, without being intrusive - nothing was too much trouble. The only negative - could do with more comfortable chairs or cushions - but maybe that’s because we stayed so long!

From the moment we walked in the staff appeared to not want to be there. It wasn’t busy and a max 5 tables at any one time. Tables were left uncleared, waiter was eating his lunch behind the bar. Had to go and ask for dessert at bar when on my 3 tables were busy and 2 of those had been served their food. The whole experience was very disappointing and poor. I would expect a greater level of service, of which I have had in the past at Villagio.

The food, service and overall experience was excellent. It would be a good idea to place some sound absorbing material, as the restaurant was very noisy with happy diners.

Service was excellent and atmosphere really warm and friendly . Food variable , my lasagne was good but my friends pesto pasta was over cooked . Would recommend to others though

Sadly the coffee machine was broken, but nit even a kettle to make a hot drink. There was a cold draught where we were sat inside and so a hot drink would've been very welcome

Fantastic food and friendly service. I went for the gluten free pasta with mushrooms and wasn’t disappointed. Great choice of desserts also, can’t wait to go back

Amazing food , amazing service , was a bit loud but not the restaurant fault as there was a family with kids who was extremely loud . But would highly recommend food was lovely , service was fast and very friendly .

Very pleasant meal. Purely a matter of personal taste, but I always find there's too much pasta on the plate for me. Service was good but it felt a bit crowded and that the staff were under pressure.

Our first time to Villaggio Lakeside and the new interior was really nice, smart, stylish and modern without trying too hard. Had a starter of FUNGHI AL ROSMARINO, which was superb and a great start, generous in portion and a lovely cacophony of flavours and textures. I was really looking forward to GF pizza, a rare treat as they are usually terrible but had one before from the Whitchurch branch. TBH I was disappointed with it, it was dry and not much cheese - that is the best bit. I would definitely return and give the GF pasta a go. The service and setting were really nice and it is lovely to have a good affordable place to eat when you don't need to go into town.
