Vinocruz Wine Bar and Kitchen features over 50 local wines by the glass from the beautiful and often under appreciated Santa Cruz Mountains AVA starting at about $9 a glass along with local ciders and beers on tap. We also have an extensive menu of small plates including Flatbreads, Fish Tacos, Street Tacos, Short rib Sliders, House made Hummus, Vino Burger, Port infused Truffles, daily specials and much more!

We are located in Soquel Village about a 2 min drive from Capitola beach and 10 min from SC Beach Boardwalk. Our large redwood bar and handmade tables offer a cozy, but modern dining experience. For groups larger than 4 please give us a call and we would be happy to accommodate you. Our goal is to be your go-to location for a slightly upscale wine bar in Santa Cruz County and also THE place to go explore Santa Cruz Mountains Wines.

First time here. Made a reservation for 3 of us although we didn’t need one as we were the only one sitting at a table inside. It was around 7pm and it was if they were shutting down. One person serving the entire restaurant, two “cooks” behind a wall and another person (owner or not sure) who was drinking wine outside and all of a sudden appeared behind the counter and started working. I was expecting more based on some of the reviews. The burger was decent, the flatbread was very small with few toppings. The artichoke hummus had a strange aftertaste and pita was stale. Cool concept and decent layout but not very professional.

It was an outdoor seating, so really, you have no control on who might sit next to you with a dog or what the traffic is like at the time of day. It felt like a private setting and we had a great time for a casual outside meal at a very reasonable price with great service.

Our favorite neighborhood place for a fun night, an easy dinner and great wine. The service is personal and friendly and the menu options are creative--running from an excellent burger to tasty pizzas, salads, and a nicely done gnocchi pasta dish. Great small plates and apps, too. The ambiance is casual and we often catch some nice live music. Somewhat limited seating inside but the bar seating is a good option and plenty more outdoor seating.

We went for Santa Cruz’s burger week, and had one of their special burgers. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name but it had two kinds of cheeses on it. It was tasty and nicely cooked. My husband had the roasted potatoes with his which she said were excellent. I had a small side salad. The wine selection was very nice and we had an excellent Cabernet. I had the truffles for dessert, which went very well with the Cabernet. We enjoyed ourselves very much.

The food, wine choices, and service was extraordinary. Too loud! The table rocked but staff made every effort to solve the problem. Too cold to sit outside but it would have been ideal due to the volume of noise.

Date night for the wifey and I, and this was our first coming here. We really liked the vibe as soon as we walked in. The food, wine and the service was on point! To top it off, having the live jazz band was a big plus! Thank you Vino Santa Cruz, we are definitely adding this to our date night list 🙂!

Great wine list here... But OMG, the food is the star for me. Try the VinoBurger! Honestly the best burger I've ever had. Portions are perfect and unpretentious. I must return because there are just so many things I want to try! Soooo good!

We had a great time! Great atmosphere, live music was the perfect volume so we could still enjoy conversation. Musician sang happy birthday to my 6-month old son...it was a fun and festive family outing.

Fantastic. The wine selection was probably the best we have come across. Their burger was juicy and well seasoned (one of the best I’ve had in a long time), and their cumin crusted fish tacos had great flavor and just enough heat. Apparently all the food was made fresh there, which was noticeable. If you are looking for a great place to have some drinks, surprisingly good food and pleasant servers (thank you Jennifer), you should check them out.

Probably the worst lunch experience I’ve had in years. I would love to tell you about my salad, the one I paid for, but I never received, so I can’t remark on it. My son said his salad was good. My husband got an ounce of old wine, when the glass of good wine arrived, along with the check, we were able to pay, including paying for a salad I never saw and a plate of bison meatballs that we couldn’t eat because they were raw. Overall, I left $120 out and completely hungry and dissatisfied. Go with caution and little expectation. Unless, of course, you’re interested in paying for food you will not receive, appetizers that are raw, and wine that has turned to vinegar.

The good: Outstanding food; quality, consistency & flavor plus they have a great wine selection. The bad: The service stinks. You go to a wine bar to try new wines and learn about them. You want to talk WINE… The waiter couldn’t be bothered to utter more than 2 words in every interaction, recommendations were like pulling teeth and he truly seemed inconvenienced by even the slightest request. We ordered a second bottle and waited and waited… had to get up and request again without so much as an apology. Two tables and 2 waiters… someone should have noticed a table full of empty wine glasses. We went to Vinocruz based on my recommendation and I’m embarrassed. We dropped $300 for 4 people and the waiter cared more about closing up than taking care of the tables still there (not even 8pm!). I have frequented this restaurant recently and clearly I should just take my business elsewhere… it’s such a shame because I love the location and the menu. If you ever wonder why you can easily get a reservation, it isn’t because of the food quality (back of house is outstanding)… It is due to the unwelcoming environment and terrible service.
