   The food and the views were excellent but overall our evening was spoilt by poor service. Waitress was very friendly and chatty at the outset but was slow to take our order, it took one and a half hours to get our main, and waitress totally forgot about us in the interim. She just seemed to vanish and we even had to call over another waiter to get a water refill.

   What makes this large hotel breakfast buffet breakfast different is the quality of local ingredients they use. Otherwise it was not exceptional, although quite satisfactory.

   I didn't enjoy my experience at Vista 18. They had everyone packed together at one side of the restaurant, making it hard for me to hear my wife. The tables are very close together. It was also uncomfortably hot on that side of the restaurant which was the side the sun was hitting. We had to draw down the blinds against the sun which negated the point of a top-floor restaurant, the view. The other half of the restaurant was cool and quiet, I don't understand why they didn't space us out. It would have made a big difference. I was so uncomfortable with the the noise and the heat, we left without ordering dessert. I didn't even finish eating dinner. I just wanted to get out of there. It was a special occasion, our 15th anniversary, and it wasn't the experience we were hoping for.

   The key value feature of this place is the view, and for some reason the entire section of the restaurant with the premium views of the Inner Harbor was closed, apparently set up for next morning’s breakfast. Not a smart use of the space and very disappointing to us, as we were given a table with a primary view of the least impressive expanse of urban landscape on the edge of downtown. The chef’s selection, a brisket dish allegedly slow cooked for 24-hours, was inedible. The beef was tougher than shoe leather, and the mashed potatoes tasted horrible. That said, the service was very good, our server great, and he and the manager did everything they could to make it right, offering us the option for a credit, or to try again, with a complimentary dessert. I did give the brisket another try and while not great, round two was considerably improved and I did eat a good portion of the meat. My wife’s miso halibut was good. The fresh shucked oysters were great, and the cocktails really good. They made a great take on Cadillac Margarita and Gin and Tonic variations. Clarify and insist on seating with the Inner Harbor view and you’ll be well taken care of.

    The view is outstanding and is a must see. If the restaurant is quiet, you can walk around to see 360 degrees. The food is delicious and well displayed and properly sized (no need for a 32 oz. steak). Tuesday nights are quiet and a great time to visit this landmark.

    About what was expected from the other reviews, The restaurant itself was excellent. Food was alright but not worth going back for. Service was great. The staff however sat us right next to a stag Ette. The girls where having fun but super loud. Doesn't seem like the right venue for a party and a staff didn't seem to mind. Wont be back

    A great bday dinner w friends. We had the Cesar’s mussels for appetizers, they were delicious, a bit spicy, served with marinated green beans, and crusty bread. For main, the pork osso bucco, with the sage roasted gnocchi, on a carrot puree. It was very good but the osso bucco could have use a bit more sauce. The lamb steak was perfectly cooked, the pea cakes great. We had a amazing red wine.

    It was a special occasion dinner and we had the best table in the house (in our opinion!). Our server Lauren was awesome - so friendly and attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meals that were cooked to perfection. We will be back and bring others. Can't beat those sunsets!

    Outstanding service and food. Our server was warm, welcoming and unobtrusively attentive, keeping us informed about food ingredients and timing. Quality (although pedestrian) appetizers were tasty. Passionfruit Mojito was refreshing and nicely balanced. Terrific food - loved the Green Curry Duck. A superb view capped off a fantastic eve. Definitely a must.

    Loved the cubicle type design so you had privacy from other diners. The service and food were fantastic! We ordered the sesame tuna and the steak and it was absolutely delicious. I would have appreciated bread on the tables though, rather than being charged for it. Just little things that make the dining experience more pleasurable.

    Unfortunately the restaurant is not open for lunch and closes at 12;00. We had a delightful breakfast visit with excellent service but were the only ones left at 11:45, and felt compelled to leave as the cleaning staff were rolling in. They tried to be unobtrusive but had work to do so we moved along earlier than we might have if we did not feel that we were in the way.

    We love Vista 18 - but the lamb was terrible, the tuna did not have enough sauce. Just an off meal for us after so many great ones! My son already went back and had another great meal.

    View of the city that can’t be beat. Good menu choices for gluten free eating. Have been there twice, and had the breakfast bowl. Potatoes both times have been over cooked…and were also on my two guests plates as well this time. Otherwise, no complaints…and will be back next time in Victoria.

    Fantastic service from Michelle - food was outstanding. Had the fresh oysters and leg of lamb. The banana foster brûlée was magnificent. Highly recommend this place.
