 Sausage Stuffed Morels with fresh peas and a poached egg: this was so fresh and had the right balance of salt and umami. The egg was perfect and soft
 Tempura Green Tomato & Mortadella sandwiches: the tomato was nice and firm and a bit tart, the mortadella was salty and smooth, and the tempura crust was crispy and light
 Wild Squid with haskap aguachile: the most perectly cooked squid I have ever had. So tender, and the tempura tentacles were crispy and chewy and light. The aguachile was the best part - sweet with a hint of spice, and roasted tomatoes and cucumber for freshness
 Miso Sablefish with tempura 🍤, artichokes, and matsutake beurre blanc: I will dream about this dish for a long time. The sablefish was flaky and moist with a crispy crust, the prawns were light and stayed crispy, and we nearly drank the sauce
 Ribeye with armanagc-peppercorn sauce: I am so glad I added this after wondering if we had enough food. A perfect medium rare, the steak melted in my mouth and I could have drunk the gravy
 Ginger Yuzu Panacotta with Rhubarb Granita - this was a surprisingly light dessert and the perfect end to our meal. The panacotta was smooth and creamy and was balanced well the rhubarb granita
I wish we could eat here again but we will definitely follow these chefs to their next place!

What a cute little space, such delicious food. The staff are so friendly, and willing to explain everything on the menu (GF, DF, seafood). They are peanut-free environment - which is so awesome.

Superb experience in both service as well as our dinner. The atmosphere and music made us feel as though we were temporarily transported to my favorite city in Canada - Montreal. The care and attention offered our party was deeply appreciated, especially as we were introducing Bar Von Der Fels to our nephew Connor - a young gentleman who also loved the unique experience we had.
Thank you to Will and the team in the kitchen for preparing such inventive combinations of flavours to lift our spirits at this unique time in our history. We will return before the doors close and look forward to our next experience with you!

Our experience at Von Der Fels was fantastic. We enjoyed all of the items we ordered and wished we could order everything else on the menu! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We also felt they were following COVID-19 safety standards and didn't leave with any concerns. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for your next night out!

We went there on a Wed night, it was full. We had the pizza as a starter, the squid, pork belly and lamb to share. Food was amazing, possibly the best I have had in yyc. Service was pretty good too, our water was always filled, ambience was good as well. I would say we really enjoyed the dinner! Would definitely come back!
Delicious main courses (pork belly, lamb shoulder), dessert (tiramisu) was just ok.
Lamb shoulder dish was outstanding. The cocktails and wine recommendations were perfect. Service was excellent. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

The hasselback potatoes are one of the best dishes I’ve ever had anywhere in the world (we travel to enjoy great food and music). I’m very glad they brought it back as a regular menu item. Also had the pork belly, sablefish and cod cheeks which were all divine. VDF is truly a worthy of a Michelin star - if only they awarded them here.
I had the crab in beurre noisette and it was excellent . Funky little bar setting with great food . Small menu .

Amazing as always! Will, Bryan, Douglas and the rest of the team are experts in their craft. New menu additions are amazing - bison tartare hand roll, cod cheek tempura, broccoli with egg noodles, romaine lettuce (sounds boring - trust me it’s not. One of the best salads I’ve had). The stand out dish was the sablefish with tempura shrimp and artichokes - order it, you won’t be disappointed.
Great service despite the restrictions. The food was superb, with some great taste surprises. Wine selection was quite good, with a unique sparkling wine. Looking forward to our next reservation.
