   We ended up staying at the outrigger out of necessity rather than choice and I was very disappointed with the state of the property since they took over from Sheraton. However, the one bright spot was the food at the only restaurant on the property. Food was decent, service was good, and value was reasonable.

    We were seated timely. Waitress was friendly and helpful and attentive. Answered any questions we had. We did order drinks and waited about 8 minutes for those. 🙁. The drinks were delicious. There were four of us and two of the four ordered the Ribeye and both were disappointed due to half of each steak was all fat. That was a let down. We ordered the fish and wings along with wedge salad and and chicken were great.

    The cafe had a limited menu for Christmas dinner (which is fine)! The entrees were all quite pricey, given the setting of the cafe, very much a poolside/cafeteria vibe. Our server, Taylor, was excellent but a med-rare steak and rare fish dish took 45 minutes to arrive. The flavours were good but the food was lukewarm. We enjoyed the live entertainment (talented gal singing and playing her ukelele) although she was perhaps a bit loud at times. One drink and entree each, plus tip, was $150 for two people. A memorable "Christmas Dinner" but not in an outstanding way. Oh well, we're in Hawaii!

    This is a generic cafe setting with fine dining prices and mediocre food. Outrigger needs to get it together on all ends. If prices reflected the setting and food quality, then I wouldn’t be so upset, but this place is mostly terrible:

    This restaurant is a little weird because it’s located near the pool and there are no obvious wall or divider for the restaurant. While we were sitting, there were a quite few people who didn’t check in and decided to sit down at the table. They probably should place reservation signs on the tables or some kind of dividers so people don’t have to be told to check in at the front desk after sitting down. Actually food was pretty good and service was excellent. Live music was very nice, too. It’s just not a fancy restaurant, but great for casual dining and manta viewing after dinner.

    I would not recommend this restaurant. The selection is limited, the food is not good and the seating is reminiscent of a highschool or college cafeteria. The only reason we have gone there is to see Kevin Teves play. We returned specifically to hear him play, but had dinner elsewhere and went to Wailele right after dinner. So definitely go and catch Kevin when he is there, but have a nice dinner somewhere else.

    Went here for thanksgiving dinner as everything else was booked up. Our server Conrad was nice and attentive. Food was just okay. My husband liked the pie he ordered for dessert. Best part was the live music. The entertainer was really good and had a nice voice. It was mellow vibe and all seating was outdoors.

    Our waitress was amazing - really wonderful. Food was very overpriced for what we received. The live music was beautiful but Quite disappointed at the noise level of the speaker. Asked to have it turned down as we were having to yell to hear each other & they never did which was a bummer for our Thanksgiving dinner. Felt that aspect made it not worth spending the $300 for a meal.

    Took forever to get drinks before dinner. Never did get 2 cokes we ordered with our meal. Offered menu barely resembled menu online. It is a very nice setting and soft music in background. Overall we were disappointed. Maybe we caught them on a bad night

    Hands down best service I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. My husband and I were in Kona on our honeymoon and wrote in the occasion box that we were coming to celebrate our honeymoon. We showed up to flower petals all over the table and champagne. there was a lovely musician who gave us a shout out and sang beautiful love songs to us for most of the evening and he was phenomenal. Our server Tracy Ann went above and beyond to make us feel special and the food was great. The manager came over and checked on us and made sure everything was OK and we had the most incredible macadamia nut pie for dessert. I would give it 10 stars if I could and also Tracy Ann deserves a raise! ;)

    Average bordering on disappointing.. we’ve been coming here since it reopened, and the menu keeps shrinking. Food just okay. Very friendly Aloha service and authentic music duet-but seriously should be a better Outrigger experience.

    I’ll start with the pros: Good service, very polite and quick Chowder was bomb. Highly recommend. The drinks were good, but expensive. Now the cons: It was essentially a pool side restaurant, the vibe and atmosphere did not fit the price point whatsoever. The menu was smaller than what you see online/yelp/etc. There were only four entrees total. Overall the food was overpriced, considering the overall experience was a basic restaurant. They charged steakhouse prices for nothing close to a steakhouse experience.

    This restaurant is in an old hotel property. The music was loud and it was hard to hear our conversation even though it was outdoors. We asked the server to tell the musician to tone it down but it didn’t happen. The menu selection was quite limited. What was posted online was inaccurate and not updated. Even the name of the restaurant was not updated yet at the hotel itself. There were no signs as to where the Cafe was. When I asked the valet about it, he made a joke that I had to walk out to the street or something (I didn’t laugh).
