   My husband and I dined at Waldhaus tonight and enjoyed our experience. The food was yummy, but what stole the show was the service. Our server Paul was excellent! He was friendly and knowledgeable, which made for a lovely dinner. Sarah was also wonderful! Thank you for everything!

   Food was excellent. We had the schnitzel and the apple strudel and the chocolate fondue for dessert. All delicious! Mark was our server and he was personable and knowledgeable. Food is expensive. Location and views are excellent. We will be back !

   We thought that the service and food was excellent and that the view was spectacular. Our waitress was very friendly and wonderful to chat with. She helped make the experience so special. Our host at the front of the restaurant was truly amazing as well. He made sure that we were happy with our experience. Our shuttle driver from Banff Springs hotel was a very interesting young man. He also made our experience over the top.

   Very beautiful location especially if you can get a table by the windows looking over golf course side. Wait staff was polished but very friendly with excellent service. Food was delicious and nice sized portions. Wish there had been a little more variety of main dish offerings. Staircase from main building was fine going down for us but we requested a golf cart shuttle back up the hill to main hotel. Anyone with mobility issues will want the cart shuttle. Also hoping they have a handicap washroom on main level as bathrooms were down steep flight of stairs from restaurant area. Pub had nice outdoor seating and also excellent service.

    Had a wonderful meal at Waldhaus! Tried the “experience” and both the cheese and chocolate fondues were fantastic. The main courses were also delicious! Beautiful views of the area, too. Make sure to come hungry because they definitely give you a lot of food!

    We just had a bowl of the potato onion soup and a warm pretzel. Both were very tasty. I think we annoyed the waiter Mark because we didn’t want a three course meal. Aside from his attitude we enjoyed every bit of our experience.

    The Bavarian food and atmosphere against a backdrop of mountain ranges combined with stellar service made for a wonderful dinner celebration. The cheese fondue combined with a selection of cured meats and Bavarian pretzel provided a dinner for all the senses. Their luxurious chocolate fondue included housemade marshmallows for a festive end of our experience. We were cared for by Michael who is very knowledgeable about the foods and spirits, and provided excellent friendly (and non-obtrusive) service.

    Fantastic views combined with expertly prepared German food and fondu make this a special experience. Expect to be overly full afterword. Mark was our waiter and was very attentive. Expensive but worth the price.

    Amazing food & great service, it was difficult to find and get to which made us late but the restaurant provided a shuttle back to our car after the meal which made up for it. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you want a great cheese fondue!

    Good but expected to love it given the price and the fact that it’s a Fairmont. We were upstairs in dining room and it’s a different menu than the pub, in my opinion, pub food is better! Save your money and eat downstairs in the pub!

    This restaurant was just okay and I would unfortunately not recommend. Food is mediocre but filling if you are hungry. The surroundings and atmosphere are beautiful. The lack lustre experience began when I received confirmation phone calls days prior that confirmed my request to sit by the fire place/ window, the occasion of the dinner, and allergies - not once but twice - seemed disorganized. I was then surprised that upon arrival the host asked the same questions and then proceeded to sit us at a 4 top table away from the request - informing me that the request was not possible. After 2 prior confirmations days prior it felt as if no one communicated or listened. To add to the frustration the server never acknowledged the special occasion. I was really looking forward to the meal and I am sorry to write that I did not enjoy it. No one even asked us how the meal was. The fondue tasted like it was made from a box at the grocery store - almost too “wet”, the bread was dry and stale, the schnitzel seemed like it was warmed up in the microwave and served luke warm. Maybe dining at 8pm means you get the left overs? The only positive was the mushroom sauce which was made perfectly. The restaurant is in a beautiful location on the hotel grounds and an enjoyable walk back to your room.

    Great restaurant; we loved everything about it I would highly suggest going early and checking out the bar downstairs! One critique was the light temperature in the secondary dinning room was horrible it was like neon lights in there almost ruined all the charm the restaurant had.     We had a lovely experience. We enjoyed our meals, the food was very tasty. The veal was cooked to perfection. The only comment is that they should be able to offer more than plain old French fries as a side. Come on, make it roasted potatoes or garlic mashed or something more appealing. The staff that seated us were great. Our server was alright, just not personable.

    We travel at least once a year to this Fairmont restaurant especially for the delicious Swiss cheese fondue. It is excellent! However this year we were disappointed in the quantity as it is much less than prior years before the COVID-19. We ordered it as a meal for two but even if there was plenty of bread and vegetables it looks like it was for just enough fondue for one person. That was really disappointing.

    They split the schnitzel between my wife and I which was very nice! But even split the portions were too large and the pork was incredibly dry, even with multiple squeezes of lemon! Perhaps we should’ve had the mushroom sauce

    The service and food were amazing, also great location with a nice view! My daughter and I are on vacation here for 6 days and went back for dinner a second time on our last night. We had the cheese Fondue both nights with the added vegetables option. The cheese Fondue was great, a generous basket of bread, green apples and variety of colorful vegetables. We also had the Schweineschnitzel with Jager, and it was one of the best we've had outside of Germany. The chocolate Fondue on the first night also came with a big plate of fruit and was also very good. Cannot recommend Waldhaus enough!
