First time there! Great experience! Highly recommended.
First time at this restaurant. Excellent service, atmosphere and food.
Wellington's is a favourite restaurant. We are always treated extremely well, and the food is wonderful~
The waitress that we had was wonderful she was very nice and helpful. We got very full from are meal and wanted try a dessert, but it was not something that we could eat there because of how full we became. We asked if we could take a dessert home and she said yeas and I asked what she would recommend. She told us that her favorite was the sticky toffee pudding. We took it home oh my oh my it was very good. Also I would like to add this was the best steak that I ever had !!! Amazing
Do not buy Scotch here. We got the thinnest amount I’ve ever seen. Otherwise the food was great and service fine
Just celebrated our anniversary at Wellington’s. It was nice to have a finer dining place to go to and get dressed up a bit. Food, service and ambiance was great.
Food and service was great
Still my favorite steakhouse in Calgary (and maybe anywhere!). The service is top notch with excellent dishes packed full of flavor.
You can’t beat such a great combination of superb food and excellent service. Each course was delicious. I had their trademark Wellington. Cut like butter, melted in my mouth. I think my French Onion soup was the best I’ve ever had. The Cherries Jubilee was great fun to watch, tasted even better.
Carlos was a wonderful attendant. He made our Valentines evening even better.
We have been dining here for years and it is always good !
The food has always been good. Close to home. I go there for their mussels appetizers.
Amazing food and service
90th birthday celebration- outstanding service and delicious food. Only negative is a somewhat limited wine selection.
Very nice and great food
Don’t know why we haven’t been here. Truly amazing food. Staff was polite. Service was amazing. Will be back
Experience was wonderful! A nice restaurant perfect for a nice occasion or romantic date. Upscale without feeling stuffing and overpriced. Coat check is nice touch. All the staff from bus boys to servers were amazing. They know their stuff. Food tasted great. The tableside cherries jubilee is a fun touch. We will be going back.
Absolutely amazing food and wonderful staff. I have allergies and they were able to accommodate them and have lots of options for me ( I am gluten free) would go here again !!!!!
The food was good, not great, but the service was extremely poor, our server forgot items we ordered, added items to our bill we didn't ask for and we waited twenty minutes for two orders of bread that we pre ordered for take home at the beginning of the meal.
I would say our first visit to Wellington's will be our last.
We had an excellent meal, with excellent service tonight. The restaurant was packed, yet the service was still excellent.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion!
Overpriced for average-tasting food. I made a reservation to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and requested if I could pre-order a dessert or perhaps have something special for his birthday. Nothing was done, service was slow and at the end as we were leaving, one staff wished him happy birthday. Terrible experience.
Still has the best chef in town & their service is amazing.
Cheaper than the Keg & 10 times better!
Love this place!!!!
Wellington's was recommended by friends and truly lived up to their description. From the initial greeting through the entire service, we were treated like long term guests. We never felt rushed or lacking attention, the staff just seemed to know what was needed. We were a group of four with different tastes, but all agreed that we had been treated to a gastronomical delight. The wine selection was great and not overwhelming. The Oysters Rockefeller, Oysters on the half shell and Shrimp cocktail all received rave reviews. We all chose meat dishes for our main course and were not disappointed. The Steak Dianne was prepared and presented beautifully and the Prime Rib (rare as ordered) was tender and juicy and the vegetables were cooked to a tee. We did not get to the desserts (too full), but they looked equally great!
We were two 40+ year old couples and two 70+ year old couples and all agreed that the food was fabulous, but we could not finish. We would prefer smaller quantities for the same price, so we could finish the whole meal and still have room for dessert!
I keep going back to this restaurant. My husband almost always has the prime rib and I love love the pan fried sole. I will give everything a five star except for the fact that there is one very arrogant waiter and I refuse to have him serve me
Celebrated my 48th birthday - and it was wonderful. We had the caesar salad prepared tableside and absolutely delicious entrees. This restaurant keeps the tradition of classic eateries alive with a modern look. Definitely going there again!
family get together
Amazing food and amazing service. The cheese bread keeps me coming back.
We had a very enjoyable time. If Denis is your server you should have him prepare a Ceasar salad for you from scratch. Absolutely first class. We naturally had steak for dinner, Filet Mignon that was prepared exactly as requested.
Wellington's is a place where you go if you want your meal to be an enjoyable way to spend a good part of an evening. The staff we encountered were friendly and if Denis was typical, people who know and like their work. Highly recommended.
good food, good service, went over and above for specific requests. helped make it easy for people with mobility issues. Well done.
Always a superior experience at Wellingtons. Amazing staff and great food. We had oysters rockerfella as an appie, beef Wellington with all the trimmings. A great bottle of Maggio. You can never go wrong!!! Highly recommend this restaurant.
It was a very special Mother-Daughter evening for us. The Server was helpful, but not intrusive.
Our food was excellent-- Alberta Beef for both of us and well-prepared and nicely presented.
We really liked the ambiance.
Would definitely return!
Great food and service as usual
Dennis V, was outstanding, went above and beyond. Wellington’s is always any enjoyable experience.
Overall very good but struggled handling a fish allergy
Very noisy Tables to close together. Had the hibeams on the lights should be lowered
Food was very good
Went to Wellington's for a birthday this past weekend, the food was amazing as always. The restaurant was quite packed so it was rather loud, but that is to be expected on a Friday evening. Overall, the service was very good and we will be going back.
We enjoyed this past week a nice dinner at Wellingtons for our 42nd Anniversary. My two disappointments were the female host who took us to our table looked not pleased to be working... not the greeting we were expecting. I know that sounds picky but it was our first time at Wellington’s and if the person who greets you looks less then happy to be there it affects your guests. I was also disappointed my steak Diane was not prepared in front of me. Although the steak was perfect the sauce was just ok. Carlos our waiter was very nice and good! Our meals over all were quite good. We would give Wellington’s another shot some day...
This was our first time at Wellington's. We had never heard of it before, but I found it online when looking for a new place to go for my husband's birthday. We both had the special, which was filet mignon with shrimp, with a garlic cream sauce, and veggies and stuffed potato as a side. Everything was delicious! The bread we had while we waited was also delicious. The prices are expensive, but the food was very good for the price, with a good sized serving. They also had good, cheap kids options as well which was great. We will definitely be back for special occasions in the future!
We had a great experience
Amazing little jewel in Southwest Calgary. The ambiance is relaxed, but refined. Perfect for special occasions, or just escaping the hustle and bustle of life. You are made to feel welcome immediately upon arrival. The staff are knowledgeable in all aspects of your dining experience...wines, menu, specialties. The Pepper steak was prepared exactly to order, and the Halibut was firm but moist. Excellent selection of wines available, and the desserts are a must. Definitely recommended...we plan to return again, sooner rather than later.
Let's start from the beginning. We had a gift certificate for our 50th anniversary and we chose Wellingtons. We have not been there for a long time & made a reservation for 2. Our reception was cordial. The ambiance was very nice. We ordered, the service was excellent and prompt but, our server's hair was hangin into our food. The portions were good & prepared nicely but, the food was served almost cold. We tried to get the attention of our server several times to no avail & we gave up. While eating our rack of lamb & prime rib, someone at the next (loud) table was served seafood & the stench of it almost brought up every bite we had. Sorry to say, it was a very unpleasant experience all around & we may never be back again!
