This was a spur of the moment choice that turned out perfectly. It seems the 1/2 price appetizers was an old feature so that was disappointing but the food was reasonably priced and delicious. There was a long wait between courses as it was busy. But overall a great spot. Love to go there again soon.

Everything was wonderful. My wife's beef tips were a bit tough for her liking, or I would have rated the food excellent.

Our party of 3 enjoyed the food and service immensely! It was a Friday night and a party of 10 arrived for a birthday supper so the noise level, while loud was not unexpected and did not affect our meal and experience.

When we booked our reservation the only table available was a high top table. When we were placed we noticed a couple of empty tables which remained empty for an hour or more.
Our seating was directly under the menu board which proved inconsiderate. As diners entered and made their way to the bar awaiting a seating they looked over at the board and peeked around us to see the menu ... very uncomfortable feeling and invasive. Also very noisy near the bar.
For the price we paid we would have expected better ambiance to go along with our seating. We were less than impressed, although the meal was very good.
Your question “Would you recommend to a friend” would carry the caption “only if a regular table in the main dining area”.

The food is phenomenal and the service is very efficient and friendly. Can't beat that combination. Always my first choice for a restaurant. My only "complaint" is I wish one of your tenderloin dishes (beef or pork) were a main menu item!

The mussels are amazing however our main meals were barely warm, plates cold. Pork chop was accompanied by couscous. Waiter put the meat back on the grill but when returned it still was not hot. Disappointed- we have been to this restaurant many times before and was incredible..hopefully this was a one off .

It was quite busy when we arrived and as a result service was a bit slow in terms of from time we ordered until time our food arrived - I suspect the kitchen was a bit backed up. The food itself was excellent - great selection and quality, some unique dishes. The restaurant atmosphere itself was nice enough, although quite chilly given it was such a frigid day and 3/4 of the walls are large windows. Bathroom light in women's washroom also didn't work.

First time visit. We were looking for a place that had a European feel and cuisine style. Not disappointed. The salmon was excellent and the beef tips very rich and satisfying. Our server was great and had a good personality. He checked back at the right frequency, which isn’t always the case. Wine choice was good and priced fairly. We had a Rioja Tempranillo which are not always on the menu of many restaurants. Will return.

We had a great evening talking and catching up on life. One of our meals was a little too salty and the meal was replaced without any problems. Waitress was lovely and service was impeccable. Thank you for an awesome evening with friends. We will be back.

This is a favourite place to meet and eat. Food is always great. Because it is small and the tables in the centre are often used by larger parties, it can get quite noisy, especially if you are not in a booth.

I recently booked dinner for my fiancé and I and I have to say we were both very happy with our experience. We loved our service and our meals was amazing. Staff were very friendly and informative with featured specials and they were kind enough to recommend a wine that we both ended up truly enjoying with our meal. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. Will go again in the near future. West Plains Bistro will be one of our favourite go to for special occasions in our life. A great place to celebrate any and all occasions and special moments in life.

I'm afraid to give this restaurant the praise it deserves so that there is room for my next reservation. Each and every course was superb. The service couldn't have been any better. Even with every table occupied it was still possible to have a conversation without having to shout. The liver pate appetizer is to die for......

Thanks for a wonderful evening.

Our dining experience here was great. The food was amazing, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The only problem we had was waiting 45 minutes for our table, even though we had a reservation. We did get our drinks on the house to make up for this, and it was not the staff's fault...there were some guests who chose to linger long after they were done their meal, even though it was obvious there were at least two parties standing & waiting.

First time we went a fellow served us and was great, this time restaurant full and we felt that we had to try to get the attention of the waitress to even get bread , we ask for salad for entry and the other couple was not asked , if they wanted a salad or an entry , long wait between salad and main dish that is why we asked for bread

We went with another couple and had a very good meal. It is cozy restaurant ( not big at all). The menu is diverse but not huge. Friendly wait staff. Our starter and meal came fairly quickly and timed well. I would definitely try it again.
