In June 1896, the trolley system that linked St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, Aurora, and Elgin, IL began to offer service to local citizens. Overhead wires that ran along the track supplied the power to the single, open-air cars.

The trolley came from South Elgin and traveled along the east side of the river, through the St. Charles Country Club and along Route 25. From Main Street, it went west, crossed over the bridge, and turned south on 3rd Street to go to Geneva.

It was at this last turn that conductors would stop the trolley and allow passengers to disembark for a quick drink to warm up during the winter months. Welcome back to Whiskey Bend.

Amazing place. Does not have a gluten free menu, but lots of gf options and very knowledgeable about gluten. Food and service was perfect. Can’t wait to go go again!

We had a good dining experience at Whisky Bend and the food was delicious. We ate at 5:45pm on a Friday in the dining area. The menu has some interesting options and each of our items was really good, served quickly and was a good portion. We opted for French Onion soup over French fries and it was also delicious. We will be back!

The appetizers left a little to be desired, go with the sides instead. They excel with their salads, handhelds and dinners, specifically the short rib tacos(large portion)& pan-seared whitefish both were delicious. Cocktails were good, but they tend to run out of specific brands. Overall good experience.

The change from Pub 222 to Whiskey Bend is amazing. The indoor and outdoor seating was fresh, clean, and very welcoming. The high tables may be a bit small for four people, but we managed. The menu looked very inviting, but several items were not available the day we visited. Everyone enjoyed the poutine--savory and filling. I ordered the 222 Burger and asked for medium. Unfortunately, it was nearly raw. I also chose the zucchini fries, based on a friend's recommendation, and they were tasty. For my preference, smaller slices would have been even better. Overall, the food was enjoyed by the four of us. The loudness of the T.V.s was a bit much and made conversation a bit difficult. Nice place to go to meet friends.

We got the white fish and the flank steak dinners. They were both amazing and cooked well. The zucchini fries, Brussel sprouts and goat cheese grape flatbread are also highly recommended by me and my party. The waiter was very helpful with ordering. Great service.

Went around 6:30 and was able to sit down as soon as we checked in! It’s always super loud due to the closeness of seating and small space but worth it for the food and drinks!

We were frustrated they tried to sit us inside when we requested outside to hear our neighbor's band. They worked with us to let us sit out for appetizers and drinks before going inside to eat dinner when he was finished playing. The food and drinks were outstanding!

We’ll definitely be back! Went for brunch and the menu was awesome! Got the scramble and the steak and eggs, reasonably priced, and the service (Dawn) was excellent. Clean environment, fun cocktails, great outdoor patio!

We got there and they didn’t have our reservation. I showed them my confirmation and they gave us a large fire pit table. Would have preferred a smaller table. Also tried to order the veggie wrap and they were out of it.

The food was fabulous! The poutine and tuna apps were perfect and mouthwatering. I had the 222 burger and I wish I had two stomachs to finish it. I can’t wait to go back and try the short rib grilled cheese! My only complaint is about the noise level. We don’t mind noise- I’m a loud person but we couldn’t hear each other over all the noise. The owners need to do something to absorb some of the sound. It’s a really great place but we will sit outside next time!

Delicious food and cocktails! I'm a big whiskey fan and the whiskey selection was decent but the prices were quite steep for price per pour which is why chose the cocktails. We loved the back patio and ambience. The interior was also very clean and spacious.

Our first time there, and we had a great time. The food was excellent, my husband particularly enjoyed the potato salad. The drinks were good, the old fashion was very good! We were able to sit out on the patio, which is very nice, music was a little loud, but the overall noise level was very manageable. We will definitely be back.

Only one oopie. A couple of vodka martinis order at outdoor bar took better than 15 minutes. All other drinks were served in a timely matter. Server was great, food was great.
