We’re serving up chef inspired, farm-to-kitchen dishes & craft cocktails out of our ‘from scratch only’ kitchen and bar. Microwave? Never heard of it. We use slow-cooking methods on our live-wood grill, smoker, and spit because food just tastes better that way.

Excellent place for a date. Once we finished dinner we found a couch to lounge on while we ate our whiskey cake and took in the scenery. We’ll be back for the bourbon flights!

Noise level is low around 5'ish, gets tough after that. Food is good, nothing spectacular but certainly good enough to keep coming back. The dessert is bitter, some people love others hate it. Would be nice if they offered another option. It is a routine spot for me to go to. Price is like almost anything else in the last 4yrs, inflated due to bidenomics.

Had a reservation for 730. Walk in and host was able to sit us immediately (we did find two bar seats available so opted for that). Tequila old fashion is always on point. Chicken pasta is amazing as well as the steak frites. Save room for the whisky cake as it’s delicious

The food, service and quality was outstanding. When I made my reservations I ask for a quite area so that we could talk and we where sat next to the bar and it was rather loud. This will not stop me from coming back, but next time I will be better prepared for the noise level.

We arrived about 10 min before our reservation and our table was ready. We were seated quickly and our waitress promptly arrived at our table and proceeded to get us waters. We ordered drinks, they were delicious. Our food was amazing as always!! We really enjoy the ambience of Whiskey Cake! We will continue to be returning customers.

Booked on open table app and arrived a few minutes early. We were sat right away and don’t even need to look at the menu. Cold fashions to drink, cinnamon roll for app then lemon blueberry french toast. It’s as good as it get.

Ambience was perfection, such a great setting for a whiskey eatery. Food was impeccable from the meatball appetizer to the steak and chicken entrees. Whiskey selection and fun drinks for all. Can’t wait to go back!

The whiskey cake with homemade whipped cream is fantastic! Rest of the food is just fair, limited menu. Brought out my husbands meal a good 10 minutes before mine, even though we both ordered hot sandwiches?? Not the greatest service.

Glad we made reservations, the place was busy. I love the atmosphere and the drinks where phenomenal. I would go back for drinks but I can't say I thought the food was top notch. I keep seeing so many photos of the cake and it was recommended. Don't bother. It was dry, dense, lacked flavor from the cake, no toffee flavor what so ever, extremely bitter, terrible texture and cold. The Pecans were the only delicious part about it. I was looking forward to shrimp and grits. The recipe changed from what is listed on the website. The grits ended up being grit cakes which were phenomenal with the crispness. However, why crisp it and smother with sauce to make it soggy? The sauce was too tangy and acidic. Actually I wouldn't call it sauce, please throw some cream on it to take away the extreme tang and acid. The okra was stringy and chewy. The pork chop had a great flavor however the sauce, onve again to tangy, acidic and too much lemon. Bitter faces should not be made in a date night. Not sure why the pork is glazed with sweet apple then overpowered with lemon. The meat on the Pork sliders were served cold and failed to have enough Brussel slaw. Actually almost non existent. The menu description should actually be more clear that they were indeed sliders. Seemed silly to list on the menu there are slider buns on the dish. It sounded like a dish with all items on it, like a slaw and onion crisps, but not actual sliders. The menu sold the dishes and the food sounded phenomenal but the execution was poor. The portions were insulting. 4 Shrimp on my plate for $26 is a bit over priced. Shrimp is roughly $10/lb. Service was ok. Our waitress was nice but it did take close to 5 minutes before we got any water after we sat down. And it was close to 30 minutes before we got our drinks. At one point our jar was taken for a water refill but never brought back and we had to ask again. I did enjoy the ambiance and the mixed drinks were so flavorful. The whiskey flights were top notch.

Menu changed again and was disappointed that they took the rib eye (outside of having it as a part of Steak Frites) off the menu. Whiskey and whiskey cake is to die for!!

Everything was delicious but a computer error had my date's food come at a different time. The manager handled it quickly and removed the meal from our bill. We loved our food and the staff was very attentive. And of course, there was Whiskey Cake! Delicious.

My wife and I had a great experience dining here. The staff was kind and attentive. The food was great and didn’t take too long. The desert was amazing! I would recommend making reservations to enhance the overall experience. I’m very glad that I did because it is a popular restaurant and was quite busy. We will be going back and I recommend this location to everyone.

The food was amazing. The restaurant was vey loud and cold. It was 50 degrees and raining and the air condition was blowing directly on us. Waiter was nice and helpful but we wait almost an hour to receive our dessert order.

Food and drinks here are usually great, but they are making modifications to the menu that are not for the better. Their shrimp and grits used to be one of my favorites (and I'm from New Orleans, so pretty picky about this), but they have removed the bacon and put ham in it instead and did some other bad modifications. They also used to have great fried green tomatoes with ham on them, but now they don't serve the ham with the tomatoes (the ham made these very different from any other restaurant.) They also ran out of the drink that is our new current favorite and it is a menu item that apparently is very popular. Lastly, they haven't changed the recipe on the deviled eggs in about 6 months, which they used to change seasonally. Unfortunately, the current deviled eggs are my least favorite that I have ever tried from Whiskey Cake. For full disclosure, my son works at the Round Rock location and honestly, the people there are great. He loves everyone he works with and all the servers we have met are great. Nathan and Taylor are two of the managers and they are wonderful and the rest of the staff seems to highly respect them. Overall, the restaurant is doing a great job - Just PLEASE stop changing my favorites and PLEASE get a different deviled egg recipe. The one for Thanksgiving with the turkey and cranberry last year was EXCELLENT - hint, hint :)

Overall this was a really good, convenient place located in Round Rock near other dining options. The restaurant was big, but it gets crowded and there isn't a ton of personal space. The food was delicious as was the cake. The drinks were decent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Biggest challenge was just the noise level, which was mostly due to the high density crowd. I'd definitely go back though.
