This is a lovely restaurant providing superior service and cuisine. Tasting multiple Amaros at the bar was fun and enlightening. The bartenders really know their stuff. The cauliflower and squash appetizers were unique and delicious. The duck was perfectly cooked. As a confit, it slid off the bone. The wine list is inspiring. Our servers were just great and we love the ambience.
Sooo delish, 10/10! All around fantastic experience especially for a birthday.
We reserved a table assuming it would be at the restaurant but we’re seated up the block in the hotel’s breakfast room. Entrees we’re good but not great, the prices are for great food. Pork loin on the dry side, steak was good but served with a small portion of fingerling potatoes that were boiled and bland. It was served with a large half head of romaine. I had a salad as an appetizer didn’t need a large second. Burger looked great but alas they were out.
I think it is inappropriate to include a 20% gratuity with just two people. We should have the option and choice of how much tip we would like to leave.
Excellent experience, food was great, service was great.
need to coordinate service better....appetizer served before drinks were served. Very high priced. Food was good. Service was good. They automatically charge 20% gratuity....do not give diner the chance to decide whether service deserved 20% 15% or less
Great food and atmosphere. A highlight of our trip to Hudson
Wonderful meal and service, in a stunning space that’s uniquely Hudson
True 5 star review. Outstanding meal and experience!
Fantastic. We really enjoyed this restaurant on our weekend getaway to Hudson
Lovely relaxing evening-our first time-ambiance and food excellent-service efficient and professional- loved our booth and desserts-all in all a perfect dining experience!
Great atmosphere, wonderful service, and outstanding food.
I enjoyed our dinner very much, they brought us to a separate dining room which had a very home-y feeling. I liked reading the history of these houses. The food was great.
A lot of locals recommended this place, and it looked like a great restaurant to go to.
Definitely wasn't disappointed. Great vibe, great atmosphere, staff, food, everything.
Solid dinner spot for a Friday/Saturday night.
We loved the quiet booth we were tucked into. Cocktails were good, and the food was excellent. The overall space and atmosphere was really lovely. And the wait staff were so nice about making a fuss over my dad for his 75th. Would love to go back!
Great bartenders made for a fun night. Fantastic atmosphere and food/drinks.
Setting was charming and food was outstanding. Service as very good. Was worried about delays because we were in separate building from kitchen, but it was fine, would definitely go again. 4 stars for value because it is very pricey, but a great experience.
Steelhead was amazing!
Service was amazing, food delicious. Just be aware that it is tight quarters and we were not spaced comfortably with covid out there....
The ambience at the restaurant is great, it’s a beautiful restaurant. However, the hostess who saw us at the door was rude and unhelpful. I told her that our party grew from 6 to 7, and that I tried at least 4 times to call in advance to change our reservation. Upon telling her, we were told that there was literally “no chance” we could fit at the table, and we should have told them sooner (which I tried to do with no luck). If it weren’t for another gentleman offering for me to speak to the manager, we wouldn’t have eaten here. Upon the manager taking over, we were seated within 10 minutes at our table, which could have EASILY fit 8 people. Thank you to the manager for his common sense and polite demeanor, it was much appreciated. The restaurant was otherwise very nice, if not for our introduction to the night, it would have been 5 stars from me.
It did not compare to previous positive reviews.
We were finally able to visit this charming restaurant. We visit Hudson once a year and it was definitely on my radar. The ambiance, food and service was very nice. We ate in the annex which was like eating in someone's home. We will definitely visit again next year.
Food wonderful. Yummy and delicious!
Service and hospitality was above very special.
Excellent food and wonderful staff. Nice leisurely paced dinner
Our waiter was very knowledgable and was glad we asked questions. Really fun atmosphere and the food was just great.
The menu is unique, but excellent, from cocktails to food. We ate here during an overnight stop. The staff was accommodating on our request of table location. We ate outside in a comfortable space between two buildings. If we lived in the area, this spot would be in our "Top Five" list of favorite restaurants.
Great waiter, amazing food
Delicious! Loved the cocktails and the country ham appetizer. Everything came out quick and staff was amazing. Definitely would be back and recommend to friends
Really wonderful experience. Great food and service. Wonderful ambiance I might add as well.
Wonderful experience once again! Food was excellent. Service was impeccable. All the staff were extremely friendly and warm. Will be visiting again in the future!
The food was good though the no substitutes was off putting to a few who have dietary restrictions. The noise was excessive...and unnecessary and made the evening unpleasant. I asked them to turn it down, but it didn't happen or only happened for a quick second. We were in the adjunct space which is lovely, but perhaps it needs some sound dampening.
We were also underwhelmed with the wait staff. They started off on a good note, but basically threw plates on our table when we wanted to split items and didn't refill our water and it took time to order, get our check, etc. I have a feeling they keep their staff slim to save the bottom line, but for a semi expensive restaurant we should have felt taken care of.
I'd recommend, but with caveats of understanding.
We were in Hudson to celebrate our anniversary and chose Farmer & Sons for that occasion. It was so special that we returned on our last night to sit in their annexed dining room to enjoy it again! Great service, great drinks, great food, and a great setting. Really, we were already so charmed by our first visit to town, but this experience sealed us wanting to come back.
The ambiance and the food were only surpassed by the service of our waiter, Eric (sp?). It was a very special birthday celebration in our family, made more so by his friendliness, recommendations, and perfect timing. One of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in a long time! PS, get the mushroom tart tatin! Sublime! And, the Sticky Toffee Pudding was a totally delish ending!
The best cocktails in town, the food is the best (especially the chicken liver) , and the service is outstanding.
We had a lovely, and delicious meal ! The staff were friendly, accommodating, and
knowledgeable. Everything we ate was beautifully prepared, and the wine and cocktails were superb! Our only minor complaint was the room we sat in, which is in a separate building than the main restaurant, was cozy and pleasant, but the acoustics were terrible, and it was very distracting and difficult to hear. It did get better when a large party left, and we did manage to enjoy ourselves thoroughly!
Dinning at Wm. Farmer and sons was a lovely and delicious experience. Ambiance is low key but elegant. The oysters were some of the best I’ve had in a long while. Service, friendly and efficient. Great for a special occasion. We will go back.
A nice experience in a pretty place. Pasta was quite good. Simple salad was nice. Steak just average. Wine choice very nice. Special cocktail on tap too sweet for me. But maybe that’s just me. We enjoyed our dinner but not perfect. We got some mild negative energy from staff for entering via the exit. But the exit had a menu outside and a reservation stand just inside the door and large glass lights next to it. It was identical to the entrance. It had been an entrance. We should not have been told we made a mistake. We should just have been welcomed and redirected.
Very happy with the entire experience.
We had a really nice dinner here recently. We were greeted warmly and given a complimentary cocktail for our anniversary. The restaurant has a really nice vibe. The food was excellent. The service was friendly but felt a bit rushed. Would definitely come back her when in Hudson.
