    The salads were fresh and a good mix of flavors. People at our table had swordfish, chicken and beef with a blackberry barbecue sauce; all were very happy with their meal.

    We enjoyed a beautiful and delicious meal with lovely ambience in the Woods restaurant for four of us on a late May Friday evening. I’d recommend the food, the hospitality and the environment to anyone visiting the Vineyard. A wonderful evening.

    We had the loveliest evening at Woods yesterday. It was our anniversary - we were married at the Inn 34 years ago. It has gone through several renovations and identities since then, and this one, under Innkeepers Bridget and Galen Sampson, is by far the best. We started with the carrot “party” and the lamb borek, our mains were the cheeseburger and the scallops. All very delicious but we will be dreaming about those carrots and the phyllo on the lamb borek for a long time. We were honored to be served our starters by Chef Galen and were treated to the best hospitality by Bridget for the rest of the evening. And we had a nice chat with both at the end. Thank you both for a memorable anniversary!

    A really wonderful, if not magnificent meal. A truly impressive chef. From the freshest of ingredients, an immensely creative combination of tastes and flavors, to a masterful presentation, this restaurant is really the best that MVI has to offer. In fact, when you combine the quality and kind of cuisine, service, and setting, it is on par with what you expect at the better restaurants in NYC, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Do not miss going to Woods at Lambert’s Cove Inn! It is a bit of a hike if you are not staying at the Inn. But, from anywhere on the Island, so very worth it. Now, looking forward to my next trip to MVI even more.

    We figured we’d try Woods off season. We usually dine in the lovely garden in the summer. Well, same feeling happened: the ambiance and service are lovely, the cuisine just so so. It’s too bad that in such a beautiful setting, it does not quite meet expectations and/or price tag.

    I chose this restaurant on a whim as we needed something in walking distance. And boy did we luck out. The setting was beautiful, the service was great and the meal was fabulous. Myself and the family were taking my boyfriend to celebrate his 60th birthday. He is a bit of a food critic, so I was nervous. He said his meal rated top 10 of all time. He got the fish stew and has been raving about it since. We will absolutely be back when in the area.

    Outstanding food! Everything that our party of four ordered from salad to dessert was amazing. We were so impressed we forgot to take any photos - but go, see for yourself!

    Dined there after seeing multiple glowing reviews and was thoroughly underwhelmed. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out in a positive way. Duck entree tasted a bit bland and lacked creative presentation. Servers were polite but inattentive in an empty dining room. Ambiance did not feel like upscale dinner dining — more like a casual lunch cafe. Probably a good enough experience for hotel guests, but not worth a longer drive from other parts of the island.

    The lamb borek appetizer and the short ribs were spectacular. The venue is situated far back in the woods in the middle of the island. The chef was welcoming and the staff attentive. We’ll be coming back!

    Excellent dinner for 4 last night, two of us residents of MV and two guests from out of state. We live in the Lambert's Cove area and have been to the Inn numerous times over the past 11 years, but not since the Covid outbreak. Last night was undoubtedly better than any of our previous (all good) dining experiences at the Inn. Congratulations to this year's new management and chef!

    Totally delightful dining. Delicious food. Fantastic seasonal, local vegetable-based vegetarian items served in a charming outdoor setting, complete with flowers and birds. Servers were helpful and attentive while not intruding. We can’t wait to go back!

    This is a hidden gem! Tucked away in Lambert’s Cove, the Woods restaurant is an absolute must. Chef Galen has put together the most wonderful menu. Over our three week stay, we’ve been back many times. Highly recommend all the duck dishes, the lamb borek and the quail appetizers - and don’t miss the boneless short ribs with blackberry bbq. Bridget, Galen’s partner, and the entire front staff at the Inn, made us feel like family.

    This restaurant is one of the best on the island and is not to be missed. The cuisine is creative , Farm to table with many ingredients grown on site. The service is attentive without being intrusive . The dining room is quiet, ideal for dinner conversation. The music and lightening establish a relaxed, romantic atmosphere. We will definitely be back!!

    There are many wonderful reviews for this restaurant so please read those too. The chef & his wife were off property at a conference - perhaps things went off track due to their absence. We expected a wonderful dinner for our 20th anniversary and it was one of the worst we've had. Our server seemed entirely unfamiliar with a fine dining atmosphere and would be rough around the edges even in a diner. No warm greeting, no mentions of local sourcing, no enthusiasm. She told us she'd be serving us then disappeared. We sat for 15 minutes, then she returned with arms laden with dirty dishes and said 'have you ordered yet?' as though she had no memory of us. She took our drink order (two glasses of champagne) then brought those and asked if we were 'ready to order yet' with no chance to even enjoy a quick toast. We ordered and she walked into the kitchen and walked out 30 seconds later with our salads so we knew they were pre plated. Both were wilted messes, drowning in dressing. I took two bites. She asked how they were, I said 'okay' and she smiled tightly. She went into the kitchen and another woman came out, glared right at me and walked back in - now at least we could put a face to the salad station. Each time she took our cutlery we had to request more. She asked if we wanted more bread, we said yes so she took our bread plates but brought us bread. The sparerib entree was over sauced but had good flavor. The duck was over cooked and sitting on top of completely unseasoned over cooked veggies and farro. We ordered chocolate cake and specifically turned down the cake special, then a different server walked out with the cake special we said we didn't want, put it down and said 'happy anniversary!' We we're about to find that touching when our server snatched it and said 'that's not right', took it away and walked back out with a plate holding TWO slices of the cake special we said we didn't want. Absolutely not at all worth the $369 including tip. :(

    The garden offered a lovely ambiance, to accompany the delicious food. We had the 4-course offering and we’re very pleased with the freshly prepared selections. Great wine list.

    Lovely venue. Meal was comprised of incredibly fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. Wine list is a bit limited . We received a warm greeting and staff were gracious. Our server was a bit slow.

    DO NOT MISS THIS HIDDEN GEM!!!!!!! Best meal we had on the island. We opted to eat outdoors in the garden and it was absolutely beautiful (although their dining room is wonderful as well if weather does not allow for outside dining). The food was interesting and delicious. We loved the watermelon gazpacho soup and short ribs. The service was attentive and warm. The whole experience was excellent and it was a very romantic and magical dinner that ranks among one of the best I've had. This place did not come up in searches I did for "best places to eat on Martha's Vineyard", but it definitely should. We stayed at the inn and they reached out to me to see if I wanted a dinner reservation one of the nights of our stay and I booked it more out of convenience, but I am so glad I did!!!!

    A must visit. Our overall experience was fantastic and one we will cherish. The food was absolutely delicious, we wanted to savor every bite. This is a fine dining experience immersed in an ambience that is comfortable yet magical, and delivered by a welcoming host and team.

    This was one of the top 5 meals of my life. We arrived dusty and tired from a full day of activity, and were drenched from the thunderstorms that cropped up while we were in the car that soaked us while we were dashing in. The manager and hosts greeted us with no pretension, like we were old friends, provided a towels for us to dry off, and seated us in a lovely spot. The wait staff was impeccably charming, making sure we had transportation back on a busy weekend with inclement weather and walking us through a thoughtful menu. The dishes were simultaneously fresh, innovative, and simple. It is not hyperbole to state that not a morsel was left on our plates. We cannot wait to return to this absolute bijou on MV!

    Excellent food. The swordfish was cooked perfectly, the salad fresh and delicious. We sat in the garden and it was so beautiful! The staff were friendly and accommodating. We will be back. Congrats to the chef. Delicious food.

    We had a delightful meal at Woods. All the food was local, fresh, and seasonal. The 4 course prefix was perfect with many entree options. The amuse bouche was light and refreshing. The cocktails were amazing. The decor was warm and welcoming. We sat in the main dining room and it was lovely.The Bar is soapstone and sooo West Tisbury. There is outdoor dining available. The staff were friendly, professional, attentive and well informed about the food. This is my new Local.

    This was a last minute reservation last night with my family when looking for a place to eat ! We have been coming to the island since I was born 32 years ago and all our go to places were booked for the hour we wanted to go! We came across this spot on open table and I’m so glad we did! We had a phenomenal experience from the food , to the service, to the atmosphere it felt like you were in a scene from a story book! I highly recommend this spot ! It would be a cute date night for couples looking for more of a romantic scene.

    Outstanding in every way. The service is impeccable. The wine list is suberb--even by the glass. The four course menu is varied and interesting, with standouts like the escabeche appetizer, black bass entree and seared duck breast. The entire menu is seasonal and locally sourced from farms in the area. Very elegant touches include an amuse bouche and a post-dessert treat. Just a lovely experience, especially in the garden with the twinkle lights above and lighted rocks below!

    We ate at a table in the English Garden. Go early before the sun sets to enjoy the flowers and darkening sky. Service was efficient and first rate with by a young staff if not exactly expert. The menu is au web with local sourced fish, meat and vegetables. Decent wine list. As you receive a four course meal, the dinner is on the pricey side but an excellent value as you get what you pay for. Imaginative combinations and the cooking was perfect. Some of the best swordfish I have has the pleasure to be served. And the setting of the Inn and its gardens is very romantic as well.

    Overall the food was very good, of three entrees the black sea blass was excellent, beef short ribs were very good, swordfish was good. Salad appetizers were good, one was supposed to be gluten-free-it arrived with a bread slice on it? Gazpaccho with scallops and lobster meat was just okay, the scallops tasted fishy and not very fresh. Server was inexperienced. Setting was lovely in an outdoor garden. Indoor restaurant is also quite nice. Food is pretty expensive on MV, that being said perhaps a $100/pp Prix Fixe dinner can be justified here. Elsewhere we would have expected more.
