Tacoma’s newest waterfront restaurant, Woven Seafood & Chophouse, is a Roy Yamaguchi concept owned by The Puyallup Tribe of Indians. We arrived about 10 min before our reservation time so we were offered large orange leather chairs (with table) facing the bar to wait. The bar staff came over in a couple of minutes and asked us how we were and if we wanted to have a drink while we waited. What a smart and excellent way to get our party started! We felt relaxed and seen immediately. The space is so large and yet feels very welcoming. The way the seating is arranged provides for each party to feel comfortable and separate from one another just enough so conversations don't collide. The decor is elegant with clean lines and varying textures. Loved the partially charred wall entry in the huge foyer with grand woven ball-shaped lamp shades and abstract school of glass fish.

The ambiance and view are great. Our servers were very nice and for the most part attentive but a little slow on some things. The food is good but not amazing. Compared to other restaurants on Ruston Way, the architecture is outstanding. It has so much potential. But not quite there yet.

We were disappointed. The view and ambiance were great. The food was Meh. Caprese salad with Roma tomatoes?? Small portions. Like most other restaurants these days, the prices were high, but this restaurant did not rise to the occasion, nor surpass the level of getting over the pricing. Server dropped the ball a couple of times but was pleasant. Advising us that two of the four dessert options require a 25min wait would have been nice at mid-point in the meal, instead of after we had finished our entrees. Such a nice facility in such a nice setting; I hope they pull it together. The bar is high in this economy, and Woven did not make it on this occasion...

So glad to get to Woven tonight. Zach was our very attentive server. We enjoyed a caprese to start and then the salmon and tenderloin. Great dinner!

The appetizer ribs were fantastic. For our main course we ordered the salmon and the seafood platter, both were prepared perfectly. Kevin made the experience very pleasant.
